The crust was so good. It had a perfect thickness to it. Also, what I really liked was the filling. The egg was a custard, not a a dried out scrambled egg. The egg custard enhanced the flavor of the onions and bits of smoked ham. Again, not dried out. Going back to the crust. Honestly, it could have been it's own breakfast or treat. It tasted like a fresh baked shortbread cookie without the sugar. I can not say enough good things about my experience here. The Executive Chef came out to talk to us too. She was incredibly humble, personable, and professional. She loves what she does. You can tell it's not a "job" for her, but a calling. You only hear about places like this being in fine dining magazines or on TV in France or Italy lol! However, it is so wonderful to know that St.Clair can lay claim to having one of the best bakeries in the world. Also, the decor of this place matches the food. It is beyond beautifully decorated. Even the trash cans look like art!

Then for dessert, I tried their Japanese cheesecake as well as their peach dessert, which had a like custard, cream filling and in the middle it had peach fruit filling. The place is easy to get to. It's off the main road. You can't miss it. Service was wonderful, friendly, after I explained how long I drove to get here. And I have to say, sitting inside is so relaxing. The music is not so loud, very clean inside, and just looking around you feel like you're in a Paris café. I really wish they had one closer to where I live. I know it would be a hit in grand Blanc, Michigan! I would definitely recommend, nice drive for the afternoon.
