I went here late last year for major dental work on a tooth. While there, they ignored my…read moreinstructions for numbing me properly (even though their website says they specialize in hard-to-numb patients), resulting in me becoming lucid during sedation in intense pain. Because of that, they weren't even able to adjust the bite on the crown I had done because my pain was so intense (I have had two root canals/crowns put on *without* sedation before this, and I had never had that happen- nor have I ever been in as much pain previously). I had to go to a different dentist to fix the bite because I was still in pain for a week after visiting Theriot. While walking out, they didn't even offer me a Tylenol until my driver asked for one. I asked for a refund just for the sedation (due to the fact that 1) sedation was the only reason I went to this dentist, and 2) the direct actions of their staff counteracted/made the sedation useless for preventing this visit from being traumatizing. When I called about this, their HR member was very dismissive and rude towards me. She acted like she had no idea why I was calling/upset each time she spoke with me, as if she'd forgotten what I'd previously reached out to talk about. I would describe it as medical gaslighting, because they repeatedly ignored my testimony about my own experiences to say I was actually "comfortable during the procedure". It felt more like I was talking to an automated voice citing their policies over and over than a person who actually cared about my experience. It didn't feel like they cared about me as a person at all, like they cared that a real person who'd come to them to specifically have a dental experience without trauma had left in pain and upset. I specifically went here because I have trauma and medical anxiety from going to the dentist, but I would not say they use a trauma-informed approach at all. Also, if you're neurodivergent in any way, and you don't "show" symptoms of pain in the "typical" way, I would suggest finding another dentist. Because, like I said, they repeatedly ignored what I was saying my own experience to be to say that they had "decided I was comfortable." Apparently, as I was told, the dentist who did my procedure spoke to the owner and they came to that conclusion on their own without ever bothering to speak to me about it. The HR woman I spoke with did actually admit to me that "communication between their staff members during my visit was lacking" when I asked why they ignored my instructions, so go somewhere else if you value clear communication to prevent your pain. Overall, it seems they're more interested in throwing sections of their policies at you than actually engaging in good customer service.

As a first-time patient, I would have appreciated it if the office had explicitly stated--preferably in writing--that Dr. Ken S. LeBlanc is an out-of-network provider for all insurance plans (as of 05/28/2025). We initially believed this clinic was in-network, and even after mentioning our insurance during the visit, this misunderstanding was not corrected. As a result, our out-of-pocket expenses were significantly higher than expected based on the initial estimate. We were charged nearly $400 per person for a routine teeth cleaning, X-rays, and oral exam, plus nearly $250 for one filling. Altogether, we paid more than $600 out-of-pocket for two cleanings and exams (for two people) and one filling. From my current experience with the office, I've learned that the insurance coverage estimate provided by the clinic should not be considered a guarantee. I've also realized that it should not be relied upon even as a rough reference. For example, my Delta Dental plan covered only about $20 of a nearly $250 charge. When I asked about the discrepancy, the staff explained that their estimate was based on a standard 80/20 assumption--80% insurance coverage and 20% out-of-pocket. However, this assumption did not reflect the actual amount paid by the insurer. I strongly recommend that new patients request a detailed breakdown of all charges before receiving any treatment--especially for something that may seem routine, like a standard cleaning--as actual services and costs can differ significantly from expectations. In our case, we were charged nearly $400 for our cleaning visits, even though our insurance has consistently covered routine cleanings twice a year in the past. Additionally, we felt misled by the fact that Dr. Claire M. LeBlanc is still listed on the practice's website and several online directories as affiliated with this location (as of 05/28/2025), even though we were informed that she no longer works there. We initially believed the office was in-network with Delta Dental partly because Dr. Claire's name was still associated with this address. Dr. Claire M. LeBlanc is the provider who is actually in-network with Delta Dental (as of 05/28/2025), which further contributed to the confusion regarding the provider's network status at this location.

Each time I missed my assistance called ahead of the appointment to cancel. I missed sure to illness.... (I'm 70) I missed for other, more pressing medical appointments (remember IM 70!) and I missed for flooding storm associated with a hurricane (IM 70 AND I DON'T DRIVE!) so today when the appointment slipped my mind and it wasn't on my calendar, I called to reschedule and they informed me that they would no longer see me!

I began freaking out before the procedure, but Dr. Foreman took the time to explain to me various aspects of the treatment and talked me into proceeding. My pain was addressed at various times during the procedure, and my suffering was quite minimal, as the old amalgam was quickly and completely removed, the gaping tooth hole sterilized, and a perfect state of the art ceramic cap was created in house and bonded to the tooth. Now I have a perfect, beautiful tooth with a modern restoration that may last the remaining decades of my life. Hours later, I am experiencing NO pain.
