A barbershop that has you feeling like you're getting a haircut at a friend's house. Not only was Abel, the owner of the shop the guy to do my cut but his stories were hilarious and kept me entertained. Everyone who walks in through the doors is super friendly and just open to genuine conversation. Everyone chimed in and there was a lot of life in the shop. Great environment, cut, value, and time spent. There was 1 person ahead of me but took no time at all. I spend about an hour here for some great entertainment and a taper fade. I'll definitely return when in the area. I'd attempted 3 shops prior to this one on a Saturday at 14:30. All 3 were close, hours not posted, and inaccurate times listed online. Stop looking, this is your new barber. Great haircut at a great price (seriously, I'm used to paying 3x his prices for half the quality back home). The shop has a really cool interior and the owner/barber Abel is super friendly and knowledgeable. You could tell it was a hangout spot - There was lively conversation the whole time and one of the other clients even mentioned he would come to get a cut when he was bored just to check in and say hi. Some other reviews say there was a bit of a wait. I had a reservation, walked in and was seated immediately, even though I was slightly early. The walk-in after me was seated quickly too. I am a sucker for Yelp reviews, and went straight to "The Barber's Shop" in Nob Hil after seeing they were in Mens Health Magazine. However, I had to wait forever, there were only women cutting hair, and it was a really unwelcoming atmosphere. I drove a couple blocks up the street and ran into Fonzy's. This place is the best. He cuts everyones hair, he makes excellent conversation, has a fully stocked fridge, accepts walk ins, gets you in and out quick yet listens to what you want, and only charges $10 for a haircut! If you want to experience a truly "Manly" barbershop, go to this place. Don't waste your money on a gimmick somewhere else. read more

My buddy and I needed to get cleaned up before my brother's wedding this last weekend. Being the forward thinkers that we are, we strolled in just over 4 hours before the ceremony and there were 6 ahead of us in a one-man shop. We needed to get cut, and we needed it now, but we aren't going to find a stylist. We couldn't wait, but why would you go to an empty shop? Fat forward to an hour, 45 minutes, 8 haircuts, and a beard trim later, and we're out the door and on the way to the venue. And for just a few minutes per cut, engine cane out of there looking clean. Conversation was flowing the entire time we were there, and the time flew by. I'm coming back next time I drive through on a Friday or Saturday! read more

I came in for a haircut and a shave. As far as the haircut goes, he did a perfectly fine job. However, the shave was terrible. I've never had a barber ask me if I wanted a straight razor shave or for them to use electric clippers, they just use a straight razor. The shave itself was bad as well, I was bleeding quite a lot and he also missed a spot. I would recommend this place for a haircut but NOT a shave. read more

A throwback to the days of old. Fonzy's is just that... It's a place where old men and young alike come for that two chair environment. We talk nonsense and download our worries on our psychologist... I mean barber. Abel is awesome at what he does, and I have never left with disappointment when he's cut my hair. I'm incredibly particular and this man doesn't miss a detail. The funny thing is that much like old school barbers you get the barber's cut when you go there. I'm glad I've found this little oasis and I have to thank my buddies for finding it. For the $10 price you get a good haircut and you also get a hot lather and straight razor neck shave. I really enjoy going to the barber shop and getting cleaned up but am really bad about making appointments. I saw the great reviews and assumed I would need to make an appointment. However, when I called, I learned that it was walk-in only; I actually prefer this because I am bad about remembering to make appointments and often ended up looking shaggy in Ohio as a result. Another reason I like the walk-in policy is that, at Fonzy's Barber Shop, waiting to get your hair cut is actually fun. He has a fridge that is stocked and as much entertaining conversation as a person can handle. Able, the owner, is very friendly and has never given me a bad cut. As of right now, he usually charges a flat price of $10 and that includes a straight edge neck shave too!
