I absolutely love this store. The amount of international items I can find here is amazing.

This has to be one of the worst ShopRite locations I've ever visited. The meat section often smells…read moreterrible, and the chicken packages are constantly sitting in leaking, spoiled juices. The racks clearly aren't cleaned before being restocked, so the packaging ends up wet, sticky, and disgusting to handle. Finding wipes stocked in that area to wipe your hands is nearly impossible as well. I also frequently notice bloated "quick sale" meat packages, which is extremely concerning. On top of that, sale items are constantly misplaced or incorrectly labeled, so you don't realize something isn't actually on sale until checkout--or worse, when you get home. The produce section is just as disappointing. The iceberg lettuce and celery hearts are often on the verge of rotting, and fresh herbs and spices are rarely available. Every visit is frustrating. This store seriously needs to do better with cleanliness, stocking, and overall quality control.

I walked all the way to aisle 18 to get a lemonade and that's something you will only do at a Walmart, Costco or a Target. They had a huge collection of everything that's grocery and fresh produce under the sun. They also have two Asian restaurants boxed inside this shop. The only downside I found was with the seafood section that had a strong odor. The parking is a breeze as it's connected to the Hadley Commons.

I went here for the food court, and I got tangsuyuk ($18.99). The portion was small for the price…read more I definitely had better portion with better pricing elsewhere. The amount of sauce they gave for the tangsuyuk was also lacking. Not sure if it was just us but we didn't get any banchan (radish) with our order while I saw everyone else got one. I also tried to order another dish right after someone else ordered, and they told me they're closed now. The parking at this hmart was pretty bad though. It took some time to find parking in the parking lot. Probably due it's located at a pretty busy plaza with a lot of restaurants. There were a lot of people at the food court, and it was pretty noisy.

I usually swing by on weekday afternoons when it's quieter and easier to browse without the rush. Some of the prices are on the higher side, but the quality and overall shopping experience make it worth it. The store feels bright and organized which could be relaxing and a nice contrast to most grocery runs. The produce, meat, and seafood sections are always fresh and well stocked, with plenty of variety. I especially love their tofu selection, ready to eat banchans, and marinated meats, perfect for quick dinners. I find myself always ending up with a box of Korean pears, golden kiwis, and soy milk in my cart no matter what I came in for. This little spa and grocery ritual always leaves me feeling recharged, with a calm mind and a happy fridge.

#19 of 100 Yelp challenge…read more Great store to shop for all your specialty grocery needs. It was a short 15 min drive from where we were staying in Edison, NJ, and people in NJ could not be friendlier. We had several employees ask if needed help finding items and when we put our items in our jeep a customer asked if could take our basket to front of store. In terms of food, they have an enormous selection of fresh and organic produce. Their deli has some exotic cheeses from around the world, including Spain and Denmark. This location had some of the freshest bakery items I have seen in a grocery store and a beautiful selection of flowers that we picked up. This 1 stop shop was a little tricky to leave as left turns were not allowed however there was plenty of parking . Return: probably when back in NJ.

On the 250th Anniversary of America's Independence, I was reminded that the ideals of freedom,…read morejustice, and dignity are still not experienced equally by everyone--especially those of us who are Black. Today, while shopping at the ShopRite located at 3600 Park Avenue in South Plainfield, New Jersey, I was reminded that I navigate this country with a reality many Americans never have to consider: the reality of being an African American woman. While shopping, I noticed a display of Solo plates clearly marked at $2.49 (See image). Although they were not on my shopping list, I purchased one package. After leaving the store, I realized I had been charged $6.99 instead. After completing other errands, I returned to request the advertised price. Before approaching Customer Service, I photographed the display, which remained fully stocked and clearly labeled with the $2.49 price. The customer service associate, Emmanuel, initially processed my adjustment but expressed doubt that the store would honor the displayed price on additional packages, despite the display remaining fully stocked. We walked together to the display, where another manager confirmed that the merchandise was indeed displayed and priced at $2.49 and initially agreed that the price should be honored. Moments later, however, that decision abruptly changed. I was told I could receive the advertised price only on my original purchase--not on the additional identical items taken directly from the same display. No reasonable explanation was provided. I then requested to speak with another manager, Mr. Cook. From the moment he arrived, his demeanor was dismissive and confrontational. He claimed store policy limited the adjustment to four items, yet when my aunt--standing beside me--attempted to purchase the remaining two packages herself, he refused. He took the items from us, raised his voice, declared that only four packages would be sold, and walked away. After completing my purchase, I approached Mr. Cook to obtain his name for my records. Rather than introducing himself or speaking professionally, he repeatedly pointed to a wall and told me, "It's over there." When I asked if he could simply tell me his first name, he again refused and pointed to the wall. As a ShopRite Price Plus member for more than thirty years, I have never experienced such disrespect from anyone representing your company. The issue was never about six packages of paper plates. It was about how I was treated. I left your store feeling humiliated, dismissed, and devalued. Mr. Cook showed no interest in resolving a mistake made by the store, no concern for preserving a loyal customer's trust, and no commitment to treating me with the dignity every customer deserves. I cannot say with certainty what motivated his behavior. What I can say is that, as a Black woman, interactions like this are painfully familiar. When a customer is met with unnecessary hostility, denied the courtesy routinely extended to others, and treated as though they are undeserving of respect, it is impossible not to question whether race played a role. Whether this was conscious bias or unconscious prejudice, the impact was the same. ShopRite cannot improve what it refuses to acknowledge. I urge you to investigate this incident, address the conduct of your management team, and ensure that every customer--regardless of race--is treated with fairness, professionalism, and respect. Those principles should not depend on the color of one's skin.
