This weekend I went to H Mart to buy some oranges for Chinese New Year. We give them as gifts to family and friends when we visit their homes. Shocked, they were selling three for $3.99. The frugal Chinese shopper in me says, no way am I paying that price. Went to Trader Joe's instead and they were selling a bag of eight for $4.99. I even told the girl who was stacking the oranges how H Mart had the nerve to charge so much. Lol. As I continued to shop around the store, the girl came up to me with another bag of oranges and said take this bag instead it has nine (instead of 8) oranges. The fact that she took the time to look for me is what Trader Joe's is all about. That totally made my day. The workers go above & beyond. And don't get me started on the cashiers, I always enjoy saying hi to them and engaging in some friendly conversation. If you can't find a product, a worker will walk you to the aisle. Trader Joe's has me as a loyal customer for life. On another note, oranges are incredibly sweet and juicy right now. Go get yourself a bag.

I rate this place two stars less for three reasons- - Get milk or a cup of ice cream and you will know it's always at least $2 pricier than what you get at Target. - There's always some stacking of refilling happening eve during busy business hours by the staff while you are shopping and that is slightly annoying. - Being a vegetarian I find it highly intolerable with the meat smell that comes out of the butcheries especially the seafood market stall.

Ive gone a couple times in the past 2 weeks and there are things I quite like there: the salted butter, shredded cheeses, breakfast sausage, and fruit punch are always priced right. Small bags of produce like sprouts and broccoli work well for me since I'm usually solo and can eat them before they go bad. The hodge podge aisle is fun to shop too. I never buy but I like looking at all of the gadgets and seasonal items. Perhaps when we emerge from this impending depression, I'll indulge. Anyway, I can't do all my shopping here but it fills in the gaps nicely. Between this, Costco and a TJs run here or there I'm good. It won't look perfectly orderly or always well-stocked. Carside pickup was a disgrace Saturday before Easter. I've been sitting here for over 25 minutes…read morealong with at least 10 other cars. Associate finally brings the orders out and it's one family's single order. Where they do that at? A family who parked beside me and went in to shop is now back at their car with their items. The person on the other side of me who was waiting before I got here left. Yikes! The young person who eventually brought my items (different than the person I mentioned before) was very nice and said they were "kinda" working solo. So the wait times are somewhat understandable on a holiday weekend. As for the in-store experience, it's pretty solid. This location always has stuff that Manville and North Brunswick locations are out of - hence why I was here today. It also is less crowded and noisy than those older stores. Carside gets a 2 at best for the wait times and strange system. In store gets a 3.5. I'll extend grace and give a 3 with the caveat to forgo curbside and only shop in store.
