OMG!!! can't say enough great stuff about this place. Being part of our company's events committee, we hold a few meal-supplied events per year. Food for thought is the FIRST AND ONLY one to arrive on time and still hot! Even better the food was great. We took a bit from each of the 3 sample menus Brenda created for a totally custom lunch for 50 ppl. Everything was delicious. The chicken!! Everyone raved on the lasagna and the raviolis with fresh veggies what a hit. My personal fav is the brownies! Yumm!! (oatmeal is a very close second) Michelle and Marc delivered ahead of time and insisted on setting up, we are used to the hand off at the door and run! What a refreshing change. We already booked for next month and the month after! Definitely my go to from now on! And the selection is so varied you can go any way with them. Our next events are an appetizer assortment at a brewing company and then our end of the year Brunch! Oh, and just for the record I never do reviews - they are just that dang good!!!! Wish I took pics - next time :) Oh, so blown over by the taste and service forgot about cost - so reasonable, they came in under my budget on all three of their option ideas, even though I said we had some room for flexibility. Food for thought has a ton of options, how would I know, my previous employer ordered catering from there every chance they had, one would think hmmm too much, actually not enough. I have had every option imaginable and every time it was better than any other catering option, from deli sandwiches, to hot dogs, fajitas, taco bars, chicken sandwiches.. to the good olde cleveland standby of what I believe to be homemade perogies (the best option). Food for Thought was professional, courteous and accommodating from day one of contact. Wendy Vlach was such a pleasure to interact with and her communication was above par! We had a catered dinner at our retirement community as we had won a contest. Food for thought had ample notice and was even given use of a complete kitchen. At Over a $120 a plate our food was very cold. Also was given 1 piece of shrimp for appetizer and told we would have cheesecake for dessert and they served small cookies. We had pondered weather to write a review but when called office abs told them about our experience, we were not offered anything other than a I'm sorry this happened to you. We had our daughter's wedding celebration catered by Food for Thought. we contacted them on short notice with about three weeks lead time. They rose to the occasion and provided food for our celebration that was delicious. They showed up on time as promised and the service was fantastic. Their three servers were very responsive to all of our needs. They even broke down the folding chairs that we had for the service (which was not even their responsibility)! It was such a huge help. My daughter and son-in-law are vegan. We ordered tofu, Montreal chicken, vegan potatoes, salad, and fruit salad. All of the food was very fresh and wonderful. I was doing a lunch for a large physician practice in Mentor and through Yelp, came across this catering company. The woman I spoke with was very helpful with ideas for the lunch to accommodate short notice as well as within a budget allotted for the lunch. They were also very considerate to providing separately for both a vegetarian as well as one lactose intolerant. They were timely on delivering to their office as well. Once you get past the cheesy name, Food For Thought is a solid, independently-owned catering business with above-average, reasonably-priced food and terrific customer service. My work uses Food for Thought regularly for luncheon meetings and events of all sizes--everyone loves their menu and we rarely have any issues regarding order accuracy and delivery time. Crowd favorites include their Broccoli Delight (a sort of blanched broccoli slaw with bacon bits and candied pecans--uber popular not my favorite since I don't really like my veggies sweet), Mediterranean Pasta Salad (cheese-filled tortellinis tossed with artichokes, sun-dried tomatoes, olives and balsamic oil dressing), mini croissant sandwiches, and their roasted corn salad with black beans. Their menu covers just about everything, from hors d'oeuvres to oversized sandwiches to subs (even meatball ones!) to soups to custom cakes to build-your-own sandwich/burger/bbq plate setups. You can also make any type of sandwich vegetarian, ask for toppings and dressings on the side, or place any other special request. Best of all, ordering from them is a silky smooth process. The phone reps are always real sweethearts, genuinely friendly, patient and fully accommodating with helping you place your order. I cannot praise Food For Thought enough! We had them cater our daughter's wedding with 110 guests. They exceeded expectations in so many ways. They were so easy to deal with, always responded quickly to any questions, and dealt with our many updates. We were able to come in and taste all the foods we chose and made changes to all our requests. They took care of so many details, like picking up the wine and beer from the liquor store and keeping it cold, so it we didn't have to. The food was delicious, we received so many compliments that it was the best wedding food anyone had ever had. Their service was perfect to the last detail and went way beyond in taking care of our guests. The reception was outdoors and presented some challenges with very soggy ground. They were very flexible and came up with several solutions and took care of everything! The staff was professional, discreet and unobtrusive. Terrible, If I could give this no stars I would. My work ordered some lunch from here and everything tasted like rubber. I could tell that most of the meats were frozen and it was not prepared to order. Luckily, I was not paying for it but I did see the bill and wow! this place is really expensive.
