The checkout lady was competent. She even thanked me for bringing my recycling bags, asked me how my visit was and invited me to come back to the store. The bagger was pleasant. He happily bagged my items and as I exited, I believe it was a manager, smiled and bade me farewell. Two thumbs up. This is a model class in grocery store customer service. I will be back.

The bread was very fresh and soft which is usually a deal breaker if it's hard and crunchy. A year later, two days ago, I brought her in and the staff fussed over her. Today I came in with Josie and a guy behind the counter scowled at us. They had a dog sitting on the counter. The scowling guy said the dog did not like other animals. He also told me I couldn't bring her to the back, where they had been so nice to her the day before, and the coffee drinks and bagels were prepared. We went next door to buy my café mocha. So, Island Mart confuses me. They are either very dog friendly or not. Depends on the day of the week?

When I went to check out I did not have a Lowe's saving card and so each time the employees promptly type a code in so I could still receive the savings. The part that I really enjoyed about shopping at Lowe's is that they have a really fun and vibrant bakery area.

If you are looking to make big grocery store trips to get a big bunch of food or supplies for the week, you probably are going to head to the Lowes Foods right back over the bridge or the Food Lions near Sunset Beach or Shallotte. But for quick things, a few food items or convenience store things, beer, etc. then Sheffield's fits the bill. A huge walk in beer cooler, always nice especially when it is so hot outside! There is a small seafood shop in the back as well. Quick ice stop here is probably the main reason we see it so much. Very nice people working, great location, and handy items make Sheffield's one place you will probably visit many times if you make it out to OIB anytime for a vacation.

They have some pre sliced and all ready to go. Very convenient and fresh. They also have items for sale and really nice stuff.
