What a nice place! I came across La Fenice by chance, feeling very hungry after two hours at the…read moreVerkehrshaus. The very kind and attentive staff served me an absolutely delicious pizza, and the place quickly filled up just after I arrived - it is clearly very popular, and for good reason. I decided to come back in the evening the next day. The waitress recognized me immediately, and made sure I was well attended. People flowed in, a thunderstorm struck, and the waitress jokingly thanked me for bringing so many people when I visit. It was a really good time. I hope it won't be too long before I can come back to Lucerne - and have a meal at La Fenice.

Popped in on a rainy night in Lucerne without a reservation. We were sat immediately. Every single…read morestaff we interacted with were prompt, professional, and surprisingly kind. Leka was our server. The restaurant was casual but was still quiet and somewhat reserved. There were a handful of families and some small children; no one felt out of place. The food was unbelievable! The pizza was perfect and all of us enjoyed the well balanced flavors. One of the waiters warned me the Piccante was spicy, but I found it mild with just a little kick. Every dish was delicious and we left feeling quite full. After a long day of walking and enjoying time by the river, this was a perfect spot for sitting down and filling up. Strongly recommend you check this place out! We hope to return!

I got a Quattro Stagioni Pizza and my friend got one with asparagus, mozzarella and an egg and we both loved them! Delicious! The service was great as well and there were tons of choices on the menu--not just pizza but pastas and other Italian dishes.

We expected to find nothing open as it was a Sunday afternoon in a not-that-touristy area. At first glance this place looked closed, but (waaaaait for it...) it was actually open and pretty packed. My friend and I obvioulsy went in (we're like ninja turtles and can't say no to pizza). The menu was quite large. I ended up ordering the Pizza Gelsomi, which had mozzarella, asparagus, oregano, and an egg on it. I ate the entire thing #judgementfreezone. My friend ordered a Quattro Stagioni Pizza, which she said was incredible. She lived in Italy before, so she knows her stuff. We definintely stayed a half hour past their closing time (I think they close for a bit between lunch and dinner hours), but they didn't rush us or kick us out. In fact, we had to flag down our waiter to get our check. Recommend.

We stumbled into this place accidentally when looking for Jeff's Burgers, which was next door…read more They offer both menus in both locations so we reviews the menus and decided to try a pizza and salad to share. We quickly learned that portions are huge, and very little English is spoken at these smaller places. No worries though...after stumbling through ordering a beer (easy to order) and a Chardonnay (a little different) we ordered a large salad and a pizza to share. Service was excellent once we overcame the language barrier, and the large house salad (Gruner salat), and a combo pizza (stagioni) for 10.50 and 23.50 Francs were excellent! The staff are very pleasant and accommodating...we found one waitress who spoke English. This is definitely a popular place for families and locals and can be very busy. It's cute; quite small, but highly recommended off the beaten path restaurant!

First off, there were four of us, two adults two kids and they insisted we must order 4 pizzas. Ofcourse the pizzas are huge and as a result there was a lot of wasted food. Maybe this is a Swiss thing that anyone occupying a seat must spend a minimum amount, but if so, what a sucky way to run a business. Next when it came time to pay, the guys says "you must pay cash". Now I wish he had told us that earlier, not sure what we would have done had we not had cash. This was the first place in all of Switzerland in our 2 week trip here that demanded cash. But there was a reason for this as we'd find out soon. The bill was a little over CHF 100. I handed him CFH 110. He prompted gesticulated "ok? Ok? Finish".. clearly indicating that we wanted to keep the change as a tip which he did! Overall shady service designed to cheat foreigners.
