That's a pretty good. Redditors can be silo'd sometimes but their opinions are pretty close to mine on the NY pizza scene. Trying to order by phone was a journey in itself. There're some pictures floating online that either points to their Facebook, a phone number, or ubereats. The last post on Facebook was in 2014, so that wasn't an option. I ordered on ubereats only to stop last minute cause I realized the pickup location was deep in Astoria. I feel bad for the suckers who didn't realize that. And the phone number led to a disgruntled man who's presumably tired of people thinking he operates a halal truck. All options are a bust, so on foot it is! See they're trying to make me healthy. I get to the truck and noticed jt was recently renovated. All contact information was removed except... their Facebook. Reminder: their last post was in 2014. You know, charming immigrant things. I get a lamb salad and chicken over rice with... green sauce *gasp*. Yeah I didn't know what it was either, I was just feeling adventurous. Spoiler alert: it's "vegetable sauce". It tasted like a mildly herby sauce. I wouldn't bother. The wife and I were excited but a few bites in and the verdict is: meh. Safe to say: I'm very disappointed in Reddit. If THIS is the best food truck in Sunnyside then the rest must taste like dog excrement. I'm convinced the Sunnyside redditors are hermits who don't eat outside the neighborhood.

I love this type of food, and have had it from many different spots all over the country, some mom n pop, some chains. This is BY FAR my faveourite one. I tell everyone about it, if you are anywhere near this cart you absolutely must go! What my stars mean: 5 is outstanding, a must-experience, someplace I would bring/recommend to a tourist 4 is great, someplace I would love to go back to again and again. This cart serves platters, gyros, etc much like other carts, but they do it well. The rice is not too greasy and packs a lot of flavor. The lamb is crisp on the edges and soft on the inside and its not dry at all. The chicken is very flavorful and super moist. You cant go wrong with a combo platter over rice (5/5). Tho prior to covid their portion sizes were bigger, but the food is plentiful enough that you will still likely be full. Whats different that I don't see often is that they add onions and peppers into their meat so it has a bit more flavor compared to other carts, which I appreciate. The refreshing drizzle of yogurt dill sauce was the right amount of tangy which fused the flavors together perfectly. Intrigued by this delicious and affordable dish, I went back to the location a week later. Upon examining the menu, Asian Halal Kitchen is a fusion of Asian and Middle Eastern dishes. From gyros to momos and everthing in between, they have many options to chose from but I was there for the lamb over rice. On this trip, the spicy rice was sold out so I opted for the plain rice, big mistake. Not only was the dish less flavordul, but the portion or food was significantly less than my first trip. The drizzle of yogurt dill sauce was reduced to a mere squirt. Adding a few drops of spicy hot sauce did nothing to enhance the meal. Although I was disappointed, I'll try them again and order some of the other menu items. Wish me luck.

It's still good, but much different from what I remembered. I'm not sure why they call it chicken teriyaki because it doesn't come close to being such. It's really well spiced, has plenty of tasty onions and peppers in it. You don't even _need_ the white sauce and hot sauce, but who are we kidding - it makes everything better. If you know only of Halal Guys' chicken, give this a shot -- it's totally, 100% different. Lamb tends to be on the salty side and they get it packaged, they just grill it up. By comparison, you can see them prepping everything for the chicken fresh right at the stall. It has been bad _exactly_ once -- not sure what happened there, my faith was shaken, then it was restored. Plunk just 5 bucks down for chicken over rice, extra white sauce, regular hot sauce -- it can make your day immensely better.
