But I went primarily for used vinyl (which I'm a collector). Their used vinyl is relatively expensive and is not competitive with NYC stores. But since I won't take a trek to NYC due the Communist status and they don't arrest criminals. This store definitely has the 'Montclair" ambiance, "extreme arrogance". I loathe the city, 50 x at this store not a "peep" from any employee.

I intentionally went for the physical media (movies), but unfortunately there isn't as much as you might expect or want in that regard. I found two things I was looking for, but the overall selection was small. Any staff I encountered were friendly. This location shares the land with several other businesses, but has its own area for parking. Good location, but one I'd probably not return to unless I need to.

You probably know the scoop... lots of books (duh!), lots of toys and (board) games, a vinyl record section (!), a café, and on my most recent visits... super cool down-to-earth workers eager to help without a chip on their shoulder (which I've encountered from time to time at that OTHER location). I'm not trying to pontificate (too much) but I recently saw a study that "reading for pleasure" is down by 40% and collectively our IQ scores are starting to go down (the first time in decades) so you owe it to yourself (and the future of our species!) to get yourself a (good) book and exercise that brain of yours.

This is the largest selection (aside from corporate-owned Bauman's) of rare books I've seen that include the dust jacket- a collectors actual dream. It's the biggest breath of fresh air to find a rare book store owned by a woman, and to be treated like a human being. I normally get side-eyed from rare bookstore owners and some of the conversations I've had sound like: "May I see the Portrait of a Lady in the case?" "All of these books are at least $100.00 and up." ".....I know." "Do you have any Wilde?" "The book about the woman hiking alone? That's too new to be in our shop, Barnes & Noble would have it." "I'm talking about the 1800s poet." "Oh." I take it personally because while I look like a millennial who doesn't know what she's talking about, I treasure my rare books like they're my children. Sunday stayed AN EXTRA HOUR at her store while I looked and answered all of my questions that I had, never making me feel rushed or unwelcome. After selecting a first edition Fitzgerald, she wrapped it in bubble wrap for my travels back home and gave me an updated book with all of the rare book sellers in the country.

The people who work here are really helpful, so much that when i bought a small bestat statue they went out of their way to try to find the correct box...and when the correct one wasn't found--the lady took her time and insisted on wrapping it properly so it wouldn't break. I wouldn't say this store is cheap but its deff. not expensive. I recently came here for a small psychic and spirt fair and really enjoyed it. however, the place is really small and don't think it was wise how they organized it for everyone. there just wasn't enough room. eventually after hours of waiting to see my medium, my friends and i just said screw it and sat on the floor in the back of the store. since the wait was super long the people who work here and organized it brought in food for us. this was so sweet and deff helped with the wait. there was coffee, soda, sandwiches, bagels, agh the list goes on. all for free too. i am deff looking forward to coming back and possibly attending some classes here. street parking & $10 min on cards
