I saw Dr. Haslett almost 10 years ago, so this information may not be relevant anymore (I hope she's gotten better) but I thought it would still be important to share. I saw Dr. Haslett as an adolescent because I was suffering from what I now know is Bipolar Type II and ADHD-PI. Dr. Haslett misdiagnosed me with Seasonal Affect Disorder (SAD was disputed at the time and later dismissed as being not real), and told me to take vitamin D supplements and spend more time outside as a treatment. Even at the time, she seemed unsure of what she diagnosed me with and obviously, given my real diagnoses, her "treatment" didn't do anything. I continued to spiral in my depression despite what she did do, which was very minimal. I don't know at the time (around 2014-15 I think) how much experience she had, but it didn't seem like much. Me, as a shy 14 year old, had to lead the therapy/conversation (I also never saw a therapist before then) because all she did was sit there and say nothing. She also didn't listen to me very well. I remember one time she assumed I was being bullied when I wasn't, and refused to concede even when I told her directly that what she thought wasn't correct. Later, when I came out to her as transgender, she first "diagnosed" me with it, and then wanted to tell my parents. I was against this, but she insisted. I picked up that she looked kind of offended in some way. It seemed to me that she just wanted to tell my mom (she knew my mom personally). Why? I don't know. Given some reviews on other sites and my own experience, it seems like she's anti-LGBT or at the very least a TERF, but I can't say for sure. Maybe she assumed my mom would yell at me (she did). After she outed me to my parents, I stopped seeing her (about 2015). Mainly because I was trying to fix my relationship with my parents, because her outing completely destroyed what little rapport we had. At the time, I was furious at Dr. Haslett, and to a point I'm still angry, but I'm mostly confused on how she thought this was the best way to handle my situation. At the very least she's careless, and at the very most, she's malicious. *I wouldn't recommend her if you're LGBT, just to be safe.* Sorry for the word vomit. read more

I work for the county in a role that involves Dr. Haslett on a regular basis, my interactions with her and her clinical team have always has the child's best interest in mind. Some parents are accepting of the services being offered, and at other times it is easier to blame others. No one is perfect, and it may take a couple different strategies to get it right. Mental/behavioral health are complex, especially when it comes to children. I can understand a parents frustration when their child may not benefit from a particular service. That is why we offer other services throughout Cambria County. There is no doubt there is a gap that needs filled, and Dr. Haslett does everything she can to help. I would never want to go to anyone else. I love this woman..she's teaching me how to change my thinking (induced by prior trauma) for the better!! Keeps me doing well ..I dont know what these other people were like to ever cause her to act the way described above. This is honestly the best physician office for mental health I've ever experienced!!! I would recommend her time & time again. Saved my life - literally. Don't go by the posts above mine- heck, don't even take my word for it - if you need mental health counseling/assistance- go and schedule an appointment and meet her- you will find out for yourself :) ... Footseps Psychological Services, under the direction of Dr. Tammy Haslett and social worker Marion Kush do far more damage to the children and families they serve than they do good. My family has suffered alienation from my son because of the role that Footsteps has played in my son's life. Simply because Dr. Haslett and company do not like me, I have lost visitation rights to my son. My elderly parents have not been able to do things like talk to him, or have him attend their 50th wedding anniversary. All due to the interfering role Footsteps has played in my son's life. I have known Dr. Haslett for many years. Her clinical skills are of the highest level in every regard. She enrolled in several courses in crisis prevention and intervention which I taught. I read another review and indicated that she "has no ego". She has always extended herself to enhance her skills and she generalizes them to the staff, family and clients that she serves. I worked for her for several months in a counseling role. She provided me with valuable insight into the needs of the clients and families that I served.
