I chose this office before my son was born, and I could not have chosen better. From his first…read moreappointment, I was confident in the care I knew this office was able to provide. They not only were invested in his thriving and well-being, but they also checked in on me, as a new, first-time mom. From the front desk, to the nurses in office, to the doctors, this entire team works together in such an efficient, and peaceful manner. This is an office who takes your calls, who listens to your concerns, and who makes sure you and your child are fully comfortable and on board through every step of the process. Their waiting room is always a hit with my little one, he loves the chalk wall they have. There is also a "sick" waiting room, which is something I really appreciate, this is to keep viruses away if possible. When my son was a newborn, and I was worried he may have RSV on a friday night- someone answered my calls here, they stayed on the phone with me (as I heard their own children in the background- commitment! This was after hours! ), and they had me send in a video of my baby's breathing /chest. We monitored it all night, and by the following morning (a saturday), my little as well as myself felt immensly better. He did not have rsv, but if he did, we had the BEST team to handle it. On his third birthday, he woke up with a very swollen eye, and I knew he could not have bumped it to cause this, as I am with him all day, and the bump was too intense for him not to have said anything. I called the doctors, was able to SEND PICTURES of the eye while on the phone, and was able to be booked in for an appointment with in 3 hours. I brought my little in, and he was greeted with such kindness and excitement, he forgot he was there over an eye situation. The entire team works together for these experiences. I can not stress this enough- this is QUALITY care. My little one was spoken to as if his voice also mattered, he was made comfortable with everything before they started any "check up", and, this is where I REALLY appreciate them, they informed me SO MUCH about what was going on. About what they thought, and about the plan for treatment. Dr younes showed me photos of other children (similar age) with similar looking eyes, he showed me some that were allergic reactions, and some that were infection. I have never had a doctor do this before, and being that this had to do with my baby, I couldnt have been more grateful at this time. Dr younes gave my child a dose of an antihistamine IN OFFICE, as well as SENT ME HOME WITH SOME! Again- I have just never had a doctor's office do these things! He told me to bring my child in the next morning, so that we could see how the eye was doing. Oh, he got a lollipop, too The next morning, the eye actually got a bit worse! But i knew that my baby was going to be okay- despite being hurt, as a mother, seeing my baby not all right. we got into the office, at this point, my child was really looking forward to going back, too, haha. The staff and doctors were so kind and empathetic to my child, and myself. And they promptly got on a differnet course of action. This was after my child showed off some toy cars and trucks he brought with him to the office, and the staff showed my child genuine interest in the cars being shown to them. When the doctor came in, he was confident and informative, and prescribed an antibiotic. He asked us to call in the following morning for follow-up, he explained to me what I should expect, told me what the antibiotic would be doing, and let me know if I had ANY questions or concerns to call. The next day, my childs eye was immensly better. Its been almost a week of his antibiotics, and the eye is healed up. We will be finishing his course of antibiotics, and my little one will be good to go. The care and concern that permeates throughout this entire office is strong, and it is SO appreciated. This is truly the BEST pediatric office in this town, id argue in the state, id go as far as to say the 6th Avenue altoona office could contend with the best in the country. This is the epitome of quality care, as a parent, we all should expect for our children. The 6th Avenue office meets all expectations, and is absolutely exceptional in their care. Thank you, team! Signed, a thankful, and grateful mother

A pediatrician's office is supposed to be a partner for families throughout childhood, but the care and attitude here have completely changed since the practice was bought out. What used to feel supportive now feels cold, disorganized, and dismissive. Phone calls are confusing and unhelpful. The online system is clunky. Simple requests like filling out a camp form turned into wasted hours because of their rigid policies and errors. The staff no longer guide or support parents. Instead, you have to guide them through what should be their job. The final straw was my son's recent appointment. Scheduled for 2:10, I left work early, pulled him out of school, fought through construction and parking, and walked in only a couple of minutes later. Their own staff delays checking me in pushed us over their supposed cutoff. Instead of compassion or an apology, I was met with indifference and told to reschedule. No acknowledgment of the effort or disruption to my family. Just a cold refusal. After years of loyalty, I am disgusted by how little they seem to care about kids and families now. I used to recommend this office to everyone. Today, I would strongly warn others to look elsewhere.

I have been going to the Mt pleasant location for the last 5 years and I have noticed a rapid decline in patient care . I hate to be negative but after my visit today I have to share with other parents that are considering taking their little ones there. I am an educated person and I know my child's health inside and out and when I tried to express my concerns I was talked over by the physician , not to mention he talked to me like I was a child and didn't know anything ! Oh, and he didn't wash his hands or use sanitizer after touching the keyboard! I agree with other reviews about front desk , that is the first person you see when going into an office , the least they could do is smile and try to be polite. Also, the medical assistant didn't even take my daughters temperature! ( which she had a slight fever because I took it at home before I left ) One more thing .... I was there an hour and 15 minutes ! Totally unacceptable when there are employees on there cell phones behind the front desk. I obviously will not be returning , and I hope that the parents reading this do some research before taking their little ones here.

Five stars to Dr. Punjani! She is an incredible physician and beautiful person!…read more Dr. P. is a pediatrician in in Charleroi. Since I've had my children with her, she has many times, taken them in suddenly, and many times on super short notice. She is very smart, very thorough and cares! She cares so much that she is not ashamed to voice her opinion on the state of medicine and what a shame the medical field has become. Dr. Punjani isn't not like a rock star with many barriers to protect her from having to acknowledge her patients needs. She makes herself available. Dr. P. does not just take your children's blood pressure and rush you out. She listens, and looks deeper into child and parent's concerns. The office is not much to look at, but it is close to home, and what I look for in a physician is intelligence, caring, availability, and competence. She is all that...plus. Her staff is also very friendly. They are not your typical miserable, sour faced women hiding behind the glass, who hate their job and are prepared to scold anyone who dares approach the window. I have disappointingly put my trust into 2 local pediatricians in the past. I was sad that my children had years to go before they can experience a good, caring doctor such as mine (Dr. Shroff) and for a minute, I accepted that a good, competent, and caring pediatrician is impossible to find...at least in this area, and I accepted that I will have to wait until they are 18 to get one. I thank my coworker and girlfriend for telling me about Dr. Punjani, and I thank Dr. Punjani for taking my babies as patients!
