We booked with Joe pre-pandemic. He worked with rescheduling us many times and finally we had the wedding of our dreams on June 4th. Joe was amazing to work with and really wanted our day to be what WE wanted. We worked through genres and details a few weeks prior to the wedding as well a mic setup for vows etc. On the actual wedding day, the music was perfect and people stayed on the dance floor. We also booked the photo booth with Autumn. Autumn designed a custom logo for our photo strips and even catered to our special requests for props. The bonus was a little station which included glue sticks, sharpies and a book for guests to put a copy of their photos in. I'll start with the good part: The music at our wedding was pretty much perfect. Aaron nailed the style we wanted at our event, and did a great job making announcements and preparing the speech-givers (coaching on how to use mics, etc.). He's great at reading the room and playing the right song at the right moment. That said, We were very clear about what music we liked--we made 10 playlists of must-have and like-to-have songs for each section of the night, in addition to a blacklist of artists we didn't want played. So we definitely put in a good amount of work to make this easy for him. Moreover, it was really tricky working with him. He was flaky, and didn't respond to any emails we sent him. We had to email him, and then text him to ask if he was planning on replying to it. Not the best look. I'm also not sure he ever checked out the venue before the event, though he said he would. He also told us he'd send a list of the songs he ended up playing at the wedding. We emailed him a couple days after to ask him about it.. No response. Texted him, and he said he'd send it. Had to follow up 2 months later via text, and then again a day after that before he finally sent it. Overall, not a terrible experience. The wedding was great. But we can only give 3 stars, considering how difficult things were before and after that. read more

We used JMC Events for our wedding as they were referred to us by family. We were so glad we chose to use them. We had Adam, DJ Mada, for our reception. We got to meet with Adam before the wedding to discuss the type of music we wanted as well as all of the standard dances and songs. We also used the uplighting from JMC. Originally we wanted purple uplights, but when Adam got to the venue, he tried the purple and both him, my coordinator and myself agreed it did not go well. He had all of the different colors ready to try, which I thought was awesome and so organized. We chose gold which looked awesome in the pictures. Adam kept the party going all night. He even incorporated a special dance that was unusual for a wedding. My cousin lost a bet with the family so he had to do a solo dance to the Backstreet Boys, "I Want It That Way." Adam called him out the dance floor and it was perfect. We only wish the venue didn't have restrictions for how long we could keep the party going. Everyone was out on the dance floor. BEST DJ EVER! We got DJ Adam, he emcee's and can spin too. I found them through the bridal bazaar and won a $500 gift certificate. We met up with Adam before the wedding and talked about the type of music we wanted and DID NOT want to hear during our wedding. He's a really big 90's fan, so if you're into that music, he was PERFECT. Adam spins at a little bar in Del Mar on the side, we used to visit him to listen to his music and get free drinks. He didn't have awkward pauses or rough transitions between songs (believe me, people notice that stuff), and kept the music running all night long! They also provided our uplighting, which wasn't very expensive. I didn't have any problems working with this vendor and I recommend them to all my newly engaged friends! read more

I hired JMC Events to DJ my wedding at Andaz. Mike and Joseph worked as a team to make my night flow seamlessly. They were total professionals and (as I'd hoped would be the case) they played so flawlessly that I didn't really have to think about them. There were no awkward moments where the energy died, or times where I wished they'd change the song... or where they talked for too long... the whole night was just perfect. They worked with us as we changed the events of the night (no first dance, now we want a first dance, etc.) Before the big day, they were in regular contact with me (which is more than I can say about most of my vendors...), making sure that they were on the same page as me, making sure they understood what my taste in music was, and really getting my vision for how the night's events would flow. I am ashamed to say my final music selection didn't go out to them until the day before the wedding, but they were able to pull it together and I couldn't have been happier. I would use them again in a heartbeat and strongly recommend them to anyone. My only regret is that I didn't purchase a recording of their mix because it was so good I'd listen to it over and over again if I had bought it! Don't make the same mistake!!! read more

After deciding to pursue JMC Events for our wedding reception, we met with DJ Adam. We went through all of our questions and any concerns he had. We got a good vibe from him and got a quote for our event the next day. We got a cheat sheet to take home to think about the songs to fill in for every part of our special night. As the day of the event got closer, we knew we were good hands for DJ Adam was familiar with our venue and was able to accommodate our officiant with a Mic and speakers. If I could give 0 stars I would. Working with Joe Comstack was by far the worst customer experience I've ever had. Prior to our wedding we reached out to JMC Events (as we had hired them as our DJ) for help with our music. It took multiple emails before we got a reply. On our wedding day the DJ at our wedding was fine but I'll review him separately. After our wedding JMC events informed us we owed them an extra $500 for additional services that they had not gone over with us prior to the wedding. It took multiple attempts to get the final invoice with the pricing breakdown from them for the extra fees incurred. In between receiving the final invoice Joe continued to send rude and inappropriate emails. Here are some direct quotes from Joe Comstack: I would also think that nobody would want to taint (jinx) their Wedding day ... We made your wedding day very special and darn near flawless. Does that mean anything to you? Seriously? I truly can't believe you are tarnishing your special day like this. . Sorry but you are the one acting unreasonable by trying to scam us out of our money. You owe us and are playing games. We have made our final payment and honestly hope to never hear from Joe Comstack again. If you want to deal with someone who is unprofessional, disorganized and deceitful then you should definitely hire JMC Events. However, if you prefer to have a positive client experience and work with a well-run business with sound accounting principles then I would suggest continuing your search and using a different DJ company. read more

JMC dj service was by far one of the best parts of our May 2015 wedding! Adam was our DJ and we also hired Rocky for his jazz package. When we first met with Adam, my husband and him really bonded over music. They seemed to have similar music interests which made us really excited. We met with Adam and Rocky again two weeks before the wedding and once again we felt extremely comfortable with them. The music was amazing!!! Rocky rocked the cocktail and dinner hour with his saxophone! So many guests complimented us for having him and loved that part of the cocktail hour. Adam was so good and had us dancing the entire night. I did not leave the dance floor from the minute we "opened" it up until the last dance. Plus he was a great non intrusive MC! Ok so, i am a huge music junkie, and i told my wife that music is my number ONE priority. Im a dancer and a lot of my friends are dancers and having great music is a plus. Our venue unfortunately made us choose from a vendor list for music which i was upset about, but if it wasn't for them forcing us to choose them, i would have never found Adam. The event company themselves are really friendly, easy to speak to, and they are quick to response to any questions we had. The king of the crop though was our DJ Adam. Im a huge 90's hip hop and R&B fan and my wife is an alternative rock fan, so i was doubtful at first that anyone can easily mix both music, but Adam did that and FAR exceeded my expectations. He is such a humble and down to earth guy and he kept everyone on the dance floor the entire time! Im so happy to have found this company. I highly suggest going with Adam, he can play ANYTHING, transition into anything, and most importantly, he makes the wedding planning super easy.
