The girls working at the counter were super sweet. They are happy to answer any questions and give book recommendations. Side note: if you ask for change for the little print machine, they'll give it to you even though they are cashless. Overall, this place was super welcoming and engaging. Incredible selection of romance books, clearly marked by genre within sections of the store, and a great selection of bookish merch- stickers, kindle port charms, kindle covers, glass tumblers, tote bags and more. Prices are incredibly reasonable, especially if you happen to get a new release or an autographed copy of a book! Be sure to check out the local author area- this store has a greater selection than many I have seen! Be aware, parking in the lot directly in front of the store can be hard- but, street parking is an option, and depending on time of day there's a school about a block away with parking that several businesses nearby utilize after school- but, if visiting during the school year, be aware of after school activities in the lot, keep speed down, and follow the directional signs. East End market IS across the street, so if you visit there and make the short walk, you can take advantage of the entire neighborhood and all it has to offer!

To start, my expectations were not only met but honestly exceeded. For starters, the owner Meg is wonderful and has great customer service. Additionally, the rest of the staff also were super friendly and helpful when it came to my questions regarding the cat lounge reservation and adoption process. Note that the cafe itself was well run, and the Fables & Fur Ube Latte was delicious! I also thoroughly enjoyed my vanilla cat cake pop. Additionally, the bookstore itself is real cutesy and I loved the theming throughout the entire store. I even found a new book to add to my TBR. Last but definitely not least was the cat lounge experience. The kittens were all so cute and a genuine joy to play with. Lucas and Latte stole my heart!! I also I like that reservations are required as this keeps the process smooth and seamless like it was today for me. To conclude, I would highly recommend visiting Fables & Fur! I bought an iced coffee while I was there and it was wonderfully made (and they do offer milk alternatives). We decided to do the first appt of the day at 11am and I think it was a good choice because it's when the kittens were most active and excited! You get an hour in the room with the kittens and before you go in they check your reservation, establish rules and let you in. The room where you play with the kittens is clean, comfortable and well decorated for humans and more importantly.... cats. They have so much enrichment for the cats and lots of toys to grab and play with. Its a cute environment and I know they are already having great success with adoptions. YES. You can adopt any of the cats/kittens you play with!! The selection of books is really nice as well as some other cute things for purchase (stickers, mugs, bookmarks, jewelry, etc.) We ended up leaving with two bath bombs :) We will be returning!!

I've only ever purchased their drinks. So, my wait times are usually minimal. Pricing is always reasonable. As noted, it is COZY. So, seating is limited indoors, but for a cafe of their size, it is more than enough. Also, they always showcase art in this cafe as well, and sometimes, pending the night, there is a live band (inside or outside in the courtyard). In the courtyard, there is AMPLE SEATING. Their concept of their book store as an immersivd sensory experience is something I hadn't heard of before and was really intrigued by. West was able to assist me and recommended a couple books that happened to be on my TBR. She was very friendly and helpful in guiding me with the experience. Their selection of sensory items were all cute and I ended up choosing a pair of socks, sparkling tea, and a cup. Depending on the genre of the book of your choosing, there is also a playlist that goes along with it. I think it's also awesome that they have a lounge space where they can host events. It's amazing to see the growth of this concept that started out as a subscription box, and now has a brick and mortar here in Orlando. Overall, I think it's a great concept that allows customers the chance to fully indulge and expand their reading experience beyond the pages.

I also grabbed a four cheese pastry, and it was warm, flaky, and absolutely delicious. The ladies working behind the counter were genuinely friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. Great service always makes a good coffee shop even better. The coffee is outstanding, the space has an awesome energy, and it's easy to see why people love spending time here. It struck a nice balance between ube, espresso, and cookie flavors. That said, it drinks more like a dessert or milkshake than something I'd reach for first thing in the morning. The space itself didn't quite have the energy or atmosphere I was expecting from the concept. It's pleasant enough, but it didn't feel as unique or inspiring as I had hoped. There are enough interesting seasonal offerings that I'd happily come back, especially to see what they roll out for the fall menu as they had previous options noted on the walls and they looked great!
