We came here for the first time in May for free comic book day. It was super busy and there were a ton of comic books. The parking was a little tight as it was a small complex that housed several small businesses. Once inside, we were amazed at the design and interacted with several friendly employees. There is a cafe that served small bites, breakfast, snacks, and a nice selection of unique coffees. I got a rainbow road cold brew and it didn't disappoint. There was enough seating and my kids enjoyed their bagel while me and my husband enjoyed an avocado toast. This spot is definitely worth coming out to at least once. read more

When you walk in the place is so large. In addition to a large selection of comics they also have a vinyl record section. And a selection of comic related books in the back. The other half of the store is the cafe. I got the Dark Knight iced chocolate coffee beverage. It was rich and very chocolatey. There a nice seating area as well. They also host a number of events here. I was impressed by the art on the walls. It made the space seem lived in and cozy. Everyone was friendly and the vibe was great. read more

Super cool vibes in here and the staff are very friendly! Their coffee was very tasty as well and they offered a variety of choices. My only complaint would probably be space to get around is tight in there. We came with a stroller for our toddler and were definitely struggling with getting around. This place is awesome! I wish I lived closer. There are comic books, games, albums, and misc quirky stuff for sale. They have a game library where you can borrow games for playing at one of several tables located in the store. They have events that occur frequently. They also have a cafe with very creative coffee and tea drinks. I had trouble choosing because so many looked fantastic. I chose the seasonal Chubby Bunny cold brew but will definitely be back to try the buckeye cold brew. I wish I could have gotten a good picture of the menu, but it was difficult because it's posted on the wall and the top is about 10' off the ground. Already plotting when I can go back. read more

Cool little coffee shop where you can checkout some comics and old records. I ordered a flat white which tasted ok. I definitely had better flat white at other locations. Finding a place to sit can be hard to find. But the staff is super friendly they say welcome and goodbye to everyone who comes in and out of the shop. I have driven by this cafe for years thinking it was only a comic book shop. Little did I know, this establishment has so much more to offer. In addition to comic book sales, it has a cafe with an extensive sitting area. I ordered a bohemian latte which was very tasty and not overly sweet. What's to say other than I love this spot. It's a great place to chill, play games, work, have a good sandwich, a great drink and a good conversation. They have the best non coffee options in Orlando for sure (try the Ch-Ch-cherry Bomb for a killer cherry limeade.) The owners are absolutely the coolest and kindest people. It does get busy and quite loud so come prepared for that. Sometimes you just can't find a seat, that just means they are doing something right! The drinks, the vibes and the comics give this place 5 stars! The service is good most times, but hey we all have bad days, so I can't hold that against them! They now have a sign that you have to look at your receipt for the WiFi password. So make sure you get one of you are staying in, we didn't know about that change, but they just reprinted us a receipt without any issues. read more

I'm so glad that I took the time to check out Blackbird Cafe. I had always heard good things and honestly the only negative thing I have to say is the parking "situation." Unfortunately, the situation appears to be due to the usual overcrowding that businesses love to do these days..,you know, how they place a Trader Joe's, Marshall's, and 5 Below right next to each other with only like 20 parking spaces in between them? Imagine that, but somehow there is only 10 parking spaces and you pretty much have an idea of the scenario. But, if you survive the parking Hunger Games, you will be rewarded with a very cool artsy coffee shop / book store / comic shop. I was very impressed with their variety of products as they even had a space towards the back for local businesses selling perfumes, candles, etc. Also I enjoyed that they have several full size tables and booths as opposed to just small cafe tables. If you like board games, word on the street is that you can also rent games here. I just stopped in for shopping and a caffeinated beverage, both of which I enjoyed. What a fun spot! read more

I've passed by this place for several years now, not knowing what was there. Shops have come and gone, and then one day this place caught my eye. It wasn't for another couple of years until I managed to stop by and actually visit. And I'm glad I did. Blackbird Comics and Coffee is a pretty unique spot for the comics and coffee fans alike. They have a pretty good selection of recent issues and variants, as well as a good assortment of back issues. They have a nice coffee house ambiance as well with a variety of coffee drinks and eats. I perused through some of the books and TPBs along the one side of the store, and went through some of their collection of action figures, then stopped by the counter to order a frappe. I ordered the Moonstruck: a frappe with chocolate, vanilla and graham with a "crescent" moon pie on top. So good! Check out my pics and stop by to have a unique experience. I had the BEST time exploring the shop as I walked around a huge variety of vinyl, comics and coffee! My favorite thing in the world is to stroll around a shop that also serves coffee and tea. I will always try their version of a London fog tea because if that's done right there is great promise in the rest of the menu. It was delicious and perfectly blended. My son collects pop funkos (not to keep in the box) and there is a wide variety of them here with varied prices. I love the memorabilia that lines the tops of the shelves like animal from the muppets and tom servo from MST3K. There is so much to see! They even sell perfume! My wife and I love coming to Comics and Coffee. The food and coffee are good, but I love the atmosphere too. It's a very casual spot, but it has very cool merch! Of course, they have loads of comics, but they also have funny graphic Tees, books/graphic novels, vinyls, old action figures, games and more. We love bringing friends here for a walk down memory lane. The cold brew is solid, and my wife loves the chai tea. I had no idea this place existed so close to me! This is the perfect weekend spot to chill with friends or browse with a date. Make sure to grab a coffee (or a breakfast sandwich) because they have some great options! I've even brought my laptop to work from here for a few hours -- I will say it got loud when several board game groups came in, but that's to be expected when you can rent out games while in-house or take them home for a few days! I finally made it and so glad I did! I have heard great things about their coffee and all are true. I ordered an oatmilk latte and it tasted so smooth! It wasn't bitter, burnt or acidic, which it was a very pleasant surprise. The coffee shop is inside the comic store and there is some inside and outside seating. What a unique little hangout spot! This location offers board game rentals, and has an endless supply of comics, records and really cool collectibles. There's also a manga section, and an area where some vendors rent out a wall and have their own witchy products. The coffee was definitely worth trying! A perfect balance of creamy flavor and you can taste the coffee, which is a yes in my book! I tried the avocado toast and my partner got a croissant. They also have custom drink flavors that change with the season. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're near the Maitland area, or are willing to drive a little. The parking situation is the only downside of our visit, as once the lot is full you have to scout around for parking. Luckily we ended up finding parking across the street. The cafe inside is the perfect cozy spot to work or catch up with friends. There were people playing Catan when we were there, and I noticed they have a calendar with fun events on different days. The people working were alright, not super friendly but not rude just there. Also, while they have many tables, it is not a place to work from because it was very noisy for being mid day on a Wednesday, and the parking lot is not very easy to maneuver. read more

We discovered this place through Tik tok and went just to rent some games and take them home. They're $2/day. We rented four games and took them home for the weekend. All prices were there and we loved getting to try stuff we wouldn't normally play. When we took the games back we actually stuck around and had some food. Food was good and the drinks were amazing. I had a cold brew and hubby has a matcha and both were really happy with our drinks. The staff was incredibly sweet and patient and really demonstrated the community feel. Ranging from alphabetical comics, books, anime or manga to purchase plus a quiet and quaint coffee shop; this business has it all. They've also got a lot of seating for you to enjoy your beverage. I purchased two comics and a Zatanna poster for my fiancé Zach. I got a tablespin comic and an Amathyst comic to add to my collection. They've got options from coffee, to teas.etc I ordered a jasmine iced tea with a lil sweetener- the 20oz was only $5.
