Free for 2 years and under, $5 entry fee for everybody else. $3 for lettuce to feed the animals. It was a cute small spot to take my granddaughter to see the animals. It was very easy for a very young child to walk around the whole area, no stroller needed. There were lots of animals to see, feed and pet. My only concern is that camel is in an extremely small space as is the longhorn cow. Some goats and llamas have no shade or shelter during the day. I did not see anybody being unkind to the pets, but there was not enough staff to patrol the people and keep the animals safe. Some of the animals backed away when I tried to pet them, even though I was being gentle. I hope they have alternative space and shelter to the ones I saw. read more

We kept seeing Ford Farms advertised on all our social media, so we had to take our kids to go check it out. Pretty easy to find , easy to navigate. Small, but perfect size for little kids. Cost is $10 per person; under 2 or 3 is free I believe. You can also purchase feed baskets to feed the animals. On the day we went they were having a holiday event with Santa and Mrs. Claus and the Grinch , and decorated with Christmas decor- cute. Taking pictures with all the characters was on top of our list. The animals were out and about; our kids loved seeing the animals up close. They have a private parking lot and there is also street parking available. This is a nice place to take the family without the extensive crowds. read more

This is the cutest local farm. It has a small entrance fee and $5 fees to feed the animals and go gem mining. I saw old photos and the gem mining has been revamped, it's on a trailer and is super nice, new and clean. All the animals were cared for and the farm was clean and didn't smell at all. The longhorn cow got so happy to see the owner, that's how you know the animals are cared for and loved (imo). It was our first time and we'll definitely be back to support this farm read more

I went to Ford Farms during one of their Farm Days -- these are days where Ford Farms opens to the public during the weekend for visitors to experience their animal petting area and other things on the grounds. As far as I understand it, this is not a regular access event -- it's only on certain weekends when they do not have other scheduled events. These Farm Days are posted on Facebook a few days in advance of when they happen. So, that event is what I am reviewing, not the farm as a special event venue. Anyway, I believe we paid a small entrance fee to get in (but not sure about that since SO went to the ticket window), then chose to buy greens to feed the animals and bags of sand with "gems" in them to do the mining experience. We also paid to do the pony ride. My toddlers enjoyed feeding the animals, mining, and walking around the farm. We were there for about an hour and a half or so. My kids enjoyed it and it was a nice day to explore a farm. read more

My wife found this place online and conveniently only 10 minutes away from her mom's house. Our daughter who is 14 months has an infatuation with animals. So when we found out that this place was so close to the in-laws, we said why not? It is a very small petting zoo and it definitely has that farm vibe to it. The buildings and decor all look original and there were lots of pretty flowers everywhere. When we went, the price of admission was as advertised, $5 per person and feeding baskets were also $5 per basket, and the mining gem basket was another $5. It can quickly add up if you have a relatively large family/party that is coming, so just a heads up! There were several species of animals that you could feed and pet, there were also a few that they didn't allow you to pet (might bite). For the most part we saw pigs, chickens, ponies, alpaca, zebra, goats, ducks, bull, roasters, bunnies, and several other bird species (I'm no animal expert, so I couldn't tell you what they were even if my life depend it on it). The reason I'm giving this a 4 star and not a 5 star is because of the condition of the animals. You could see the very dirty water they were drinking from, there were a lot of flies on the ponies, and the chickens were pecking on each other. A couple of them had bare spots where they were being pecked at. Normally other places we've gone, we usually see attendants cleaning and up keeping with the animals, but here there were only 2 employees. One at the register and the other giving the pony rides. The gem mining was a nice added feature. Pretty relaxing, searching for gems in the water/sand thing. Not sure what it's called, but I've uploaded pictures with this review. For the most part, I had fun and most importantly my daughter had fun. She fed a horse and the alpaca and had a blast doing it. We were finished with everything in about 2 hours. I have attended several events at Ford Farms including weddings, birthday parties, memorials, and holiday themed events. Ford Farms never disappoints! Holly and her husband Sean keep the place in tip top shape and you can always expect to have a great time whether that's taking your kids to their petting zoo on the weekend or checking out their haunted house and hay ride during October. My niece especially loves to feed their animals. They even have a zebra and a camel right here in our Central Valley, how cool is that? Looking forward to their Xmas events coming up next month. Ford Farms was a WONDERFUL addition to my friend's wedding--to think of a petting zoo at a wedding seemed so unconventional but BOY was it worth it! (It was an outdoors afternoon wedding, no biggie!) The animals were adorable. The more and more they kept putting out, the more surprised I was because there were so many! I haven't been to a zoo since I was a kid and the feeling these animals brought back was AMAZING. The animals are well-behaved and well taken care of and the family itself was so professional, friendly and accommodating. They were willing to travel 3.5 hours away to a wedding in the East Bay Area and were so generous with their time. I'd definitely recommend their service to accompany your next party--kids, children's, birthday, wedding or themed. What more could you ask for? And, their son was adorable as he was riding on top of one of the horses, brushing their backs and even told us their names. Great people! read more

We were the first wedding at Ford farms, and it was beyond the best experience ever. The owners have the BIGGEST hearts you could ever have, and have such a love for people and animals and it really shows through their character and business. I think most of their reviews on all platforms shows this, and the people who have said negative things about them, well quite frankly I don't think they are very happy people to begin with. They have become really good friends of ours and will continue to be our friends forever. OH and my best friend ending up getting married here because of how AMAZING the venue was and how amazing their customer service was. The facility/venue is always TOP NOTCH!! I know here in the valley it can get really hot and the flies unbearable, but they do the best they can and it really shows. If you know these people, they would sacrifice their OWN plate to feed and take care of their animals. Highly HIGHLY recommend, for any and all occasions! I work with animals so we were so excited to take our baby to his first petting zoo. Unfortunately, we left with a lump in our stomachs from witnessing the neglect of several animals. The chickens have clearly been feather pecking each other to their hearts content from the stress. The ducks sit in 2 small kiddie pools of disgusting water. As we rounded a corner, we nearly ran into a table saw sitting in an open walkway. We witnessed an unattended child bang full force on a snakes cage while the snake was moving up that wall which knocked the snake halfway across his cage. We saw only 1 adult worker there meaning all animals are unattended so children could treat the animals however their parents allowed. The real kicker was the ponies. They were coated in flies. They were not wearing eye guards or anything to keep the flies out of their eyes. A couple of them had streams running from their eyes from tearing. Flies can cause aggressive eye infections in horses and the irritation can cause eye ulcers and those are just the more common ailments. I felt the need to help them and this was all I knew to do. We aren't familiar with the town or their practices but we wanted to make sure no tourists go to this place thinking it has good enough reviews. We were heartbroken for the animals at this "zoo". This was very disappointing. You get there and it's $10 per person not the $5 they advertise. They ran out of food to feed the animals. The animals are all caged in and you can't pet them if you have no food, they don't come to you. So petting zoo it is not. There were no pony rides. There was no gem mining. It was dark, run down, and very much a rip off. Very misleading, I don't know who wrote the reviews, but we didn't see what they did. You didn't get a ticket or wrist band, so really you can just walk in and not pay. The lines for the grinch and Santa were way too long, but Santa wasn't there when we were anyway. But the line was. I have taken my family twice to their Pumpkin patch this year and we absolutely loved it. The farm has a petting zoo on the property and it is very well maintained. When I got there we were excited to go we thought we were going to see a lot of animals to feed there wasn't very much to see also they were way overpriced for that price they need to be bundling family deals for larger families like mine. also they are not special needs friendly my daughter is legally blind and in a wheelchair she doesn't even know what animals are so I figured I didn't have to pay the five dollars for her to get in he wanted me to pay the five extra bucks she can't see she's not using the animals just not special-needs friendly at wasn't clean there were so many flies by my kids it wasn't nice. Our family had my uncles 60th Birthday there and it was so well put together. Such an easy going time, they accommodated all our needs without hesitation. All the kids and grandkids got to enjoy all the awesome animals. I mean who gets to see a zebra that close!!! Another favorite animal of mine was the watusi. They are such an interesting beautiful cattle breed. I have to say it couldn't have gone any better. After the sun set we all gathered around the fire pit, telling stories and visiting. Some wondered inside to the dance floor which got busy quick. The celebration went late into the night. People slowly got in their cars and said their goodbyes and the Fords made sure those who left, left in a safe manner which was so appreciative. Bad communication skills on their behalf. They tell you what you want to hear months before the wedding. Then you never hear back from them and what the contract has agreed upon they don't fulfill. They agreed months in advance to allow our Venue to include dancing outside on the grass area outside. We were to have our provided band playing outside as well. Then I call them to confirm the wedding reservation one week before April 29th, 2017 the actual wedding date. They inform me that the band will have to be inside and the dancing as well. They can't risk the grass being damaged. I thought this was a farm not a Hilton 5 star hotel. The problem is the indoor space is not large enough to fit the entire guest party yet Ford Farms knows this and was not willing to budge. All of the events evolved around us having the band and sound system, dancing and events outside. Hence the reason for booking a farm in April, still good weather, and not the standard indoor venues like Pardini's Banquets etc. Ford Farms failed to communicate any of this ahead of time and kept my deposit as well. I had to find another venue in break neck time. This was extremely stressfull on me and all of our family members. We found a place in Exetor which ended up being worlds better with customer service and catered to every need we had. I would not recommend using Ford Farms for any events. read more

Just finished with the Unicorn Tea Party. To be quite honest it was over priced and the actual event was not what I expected. I paid for two children a total of $150. I thought it was going to be a nice lunch but no main dish was served only sides: a roll, pasta salad, rice pilaf, and chicken salad. For sure he kids peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and chips, with carrot sticks and celery. One of my kids only ate chips! They had sweets but most were gone or melted by the time we got to them. And those candies were considered the goody bags, which I thought would be a whole separate thing to begin with. The event was supposed to go on for 4 hours but 45 minutes into the event we were ready to go. I was very disappointed with the event. Will not be going back. My sister was supposed to have her wedding at this place but 6 days before the wedding these people decided to tell my sister and now brother in law that they will not allow anyone on their grass. Might I add it was supposed to be an outdoor wedding! They should have established everything before letting my sister and brother in law give them the deposit. Speaking of deposit, they went back on their words about giving back the deposit. They wouldn't even give half of the deposit back knowing that would've been the right thing to do. What's worse is my sister is pregnant. They put my sister under so much stress trying to find a new place 6 DAYS before her wedding, while pregnant. What kind of people would do that? I took my girls to the unicorn tea party event on saturday and they had such a good time I even took them back today. Everything was set up very nice. All of the animals were so sweet,well mannered and very well taken care of. My girls enjoyed the petting zoo a lot. The professional photographer that was doing the photo shoot was really nice. They also provided lunch which the chicken salad sandwiches were really good as well as the sides. They even had a candy bar set up for the kids which I think was a great touch to such a wonderful evening. Other then the weather being pretty hot I think it was a great turn out for their event.
