Delicious Ventura blueberries

I've been coming here for the last 7-8yrs. Nothing tastes better than handpicked blueberries!! I always feel so blessed to have organic blueberries so close to home! I enjoy the morning picking before the heat but the weekend harvest festival is a blast too! Nice people and a great time!

This experience was great. Picking berries with my wife and kids while the band was playing was really nice.

Amazing little farm where people can come out and pick fresh, organic blueberries and hangout afterwards and enjoy some fresh pastries, soft drinks and homemade ice cream. The staff, especially the owners are extremely nice, helpful and explain the different types and varieties of blueberries in their farm. They're warm, friendly and inviting and will even tell you about their journey to their successful little operation. They have scheduled events on Saturday's where they'll have a local food truck and band provide entertainment and although I haven't been to one of these yet, their set up is perfect for entertaining. I wish more places around here had u-pick for other fruits, but this place hits it out of the park. Awesome set up and amazing staff with weekend events and an amazing product make for a winning combination.

What an amazing experience blueberry picking! We went there on the first opening weekend (5/12/18) around 8 AM. They had coffee and muffins for sale with their blueberries. You get a small metal basket to gather your berries in. They have a variety of blueberry kinds, sweeter and more sour, for any taste. Staff and owners there are very friendly and help you out figuring out how to pick blueberries (if you have never done that, it's really simple!), talk about how they grow them etc. Staff are there for you throughout the whole process. They charge $5 per lb, which for organic blueberries is a steal! The whole experience is really cool. How often do you get to eat berries from the plant? How often are you the first one to touch that berry? Really well organized. Will certainly be back!

Welcome!

Big L Ranch is located in near Woodlake, Califonia. If you are travelling to Sequoia or Kings Canyon ational parks during May-June you must stop and take a break and go blueberry picking.

Row after row, my kiddos helped themselves to picking as many blueberries their little hearts desired.

You might not realize how huge and dangerous some of these birds really are, but they average about 9 feet to 12 feet tall and from 250 to 350 pounds. And, they can be quite deadly. During the mating season, the males will instantly try to attack you if you get close. They've got about 6 to 10 different ostriches in separate fenced off areas. If you pay a few dollars for a tour, they will walk you down and show you the different ostriches they have, as well as provide some pretty interesting ostrich facts. Their feet are crazy as they are the only two toed bird on earth. Looking at them it is easy to see how they are related to dinosaurs because it looks just like a dinosaur foot. You can also buy ostrich eggs if they have them available, which are equal to about 24 to 36 eggs. The flavor and consistency is actually pretty good as well and very similar to chicken eggs. They also sell honey and a bunch of other things. Also, in certain times of year, you can go and see the baby ostrich chicks that they raise. If you're feeling adventurous, this is definitely worth a trip, especially if you have kids. This has become a fun stop we started making on our annual visit to the California Poppy Preserve in Antelope Valley. I would call ahead and see what's going on with tours and everything else. Five stars.

The location it self it's beautiful near mountains. They also have restrooms and playground for kids. They also have little shop they sell ostrich eggs which are huge and they even have home made honey. Amazing place would definitely be going back!!
