I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Natalie and my experience with Forefront! I've had 3 visits now with Dr. Natalie and 1 minor surgery. It took awhile to get in as a new visitor for my first appointment but was worth the wait. Dermatology is a speciality in Bloomington that is underrepresented so having a new group in town was long overdue! I had never been to a Dermatologist before and not knowing what to expect Dr. Natalie and his staff always made sure to walk me through every step and ensure I was comfortable. The waiting room and offices are very clean and well maintained. The music through out the office building always consists of a great mix of some of my favorites making the experience more enjoyable. If you're looking for a Dermatologist in town I highly recommend Forefront! read more

Odd place. Had never experienced health professionals like this before. Seemed like there was never a doctor there or had ever been there. One of the practitioners seemed nice but unable to resolve an issue I had after multiple visits. The final visit, there was another practitioner who had a very unfriendly attitude. Terrible, cannot do their job. Don't confirm scripts and they make you come back to the office to charge insurance for their mistakes.

I began visiting this office for a precancerous spot that my old derm suggested that I keep an eye on. Sure enough it was cancer, they referred me to a Mohs surgeon. My surgery was botched and my nose is a mess. When I went back for a follow up, the office assistant was the only one to see me and acted like she was waiting for someone else that never showed. I went back a year later for another spot and the PA acted as if I was crazy and wasting his time, and did not bother to biopsy it. I also shared that I was very unhappy with the big bumps in my nose, he just shrugged as if to say "oh well" . It is a good thing that I went to another derm. It was positive and I had more surgery, but at least this time I had someone that knew what they were doing for both the surgery and follow up. He also diagnosed rosacea and gave me a cream that cleared my nose up a lot, I am still not happy but it is much better. If you have any skin issues, be very leery of this group. read more

When I called to schedule an appointment I asked if they took my insurance they said yes. It took almost 4 months to get in to see them. When I got to the office they said they didn't take my insurance. Thanks for wasting my time. This place is a joke. read more

Had a terrible experience here. Came in for a skin cancer check and a growth looked at, she spent all of two minutes on the cancer check. Immediately went to another dermatology center and they found numerous precancer places on my face. They did a cancer check that lasted 20 minutes. This place is a joke. read more

WORST.BILLING.DEPARTMENT.EVER!!!! Don't plan on getting ahold of them until you call multiple times over a 6 month period. Don't bother emailing or jumping out of line, because they won't call you back. read more

Horrible! Literally 3 HOURS before my appointment, they cancelled it! I had made this appointment 2 weeks in advance, and they couldn't have bothered to notify me earlier that my appointment was made in error and they needed to cancel?? So I'm just warning people that if you book an appointment here, it is not a guarantee because they can and will cancel on you and not help AT ALL in scheduling another one. Was a little nervous because I didn't know anyone that had been here before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I called on Monday and they got me in 24 hours later. The staff was super friendly and nice, and made my first visit pleasant. My PA was very sweet, cut right to the chase, told me what I needed and got me out of there within 30 mins! Emily the PA is the worst provider I have ever met. She spent the entire visit looking at a chart and her watch. I did not even get to ask my questions before I was ushered out of the room. She is also completely demeaning to the staff. I thought the poor girl was going to cry. If you want a drive through doctor who could care less about you she is the one to go to. read more

The billing department is a nightmare. I have been double-billed and cannot get the problem resolved. I have produced a canceled check and have a copy of the receipt given to me by the receptionist at time of payment. Yikes!!! read more

I needed to have my moles checked and had made an appointment with the Dermatology Center of Southern Indiana (DCSI), however the earliest they could schedule me was late June (in mid April). I called Forefront Dermatology and got an appointment day after tomorrow. Very efficient outer office with a minimum of paperwork, was called right away, barely had changed before the physician's assistant knocked on the door along with one of the nurses. Thorough professional exam, answered all my questions and checked everything I had questions about. They did one biopsy and I go back in two weeks. Very pleased. They are in-network for IU Anthem patients and cost is comparable to DSCI according to Castlight. Bottom line - why wait two months when you can be seen in two days?!? read more

I've now been to Forefront in Bloomington 6 times. First time for a screening, second time to remove a suspicious mole, next 4 times to follow up that procedure which left me with extreme swelling and bruising. My screening was with Dr. Meeks, who was great. Very kind, good bedside manner. We agreed that I should return for the removal of a mole which had doubled in size in a year. I asked about insurance coverage for the procedure, and was told it would be covered by insurance. I am used to being uninsured and paying out of pocket (which usually runs around $400), so I was happy to hear that. Procedure with Dr. Crawford did not go as well. I waited. And waited, and waited. I don't remember how long, but it was a long time. When I finally got into a room, I waited some more. Then I was draped, and waited some more. Then I got local anesthetic, and waited some more. Turns out they were understaffed and instead of rescheduling patients, they got very behind schedule. When I finally saw Dr. Crawford, he was in and out in about 5 minutes, then left me waiting for another 20. By the time someone came in to bandage me, the anesthetic had worn off and I had to get dressed and drive home with the pain of a fresh wound and stitches on my hip. By the next day, I had a pronounced lump under my skin, extreme bruising, and could barely walk. This was the 9th mole removal I'd been through (and not the largest), and I'd never experienced that much pain and swelling. Over a week later, I still had extreme swelling and bruising that extended 8" on either side of the 2" incision, wrapping around my hip and down into my groin. I looked like I had been beaten. I contacted Dr. Crawford, sent him a picture, and he agreed that it did not look good, but did not look infected (which was my biggest concern) and had me schedule to come in sooner for my follow-up. This was followed by 3 more follow-ups, as everyone in the office seemed to agree that my case was pretty extreme and wanted to keep an eye on me. I kind of felt like I had been butchered. To top it off, I then got a bill for $635. I admit I should have further investigated what "covered by insurance" actually meant, because it meant a 30% copay on a $1850 procedure. But it would have been nice to have been told that when I asked about the insurance coverage, as I never imagined the procedure cost could be so high that the copay would be that significant. I've contested the bill since I wasn't informed of the charges but the matter currently remains unresolved. Long story short, everyone I have dealt with individually has been pleasant, but they are a large, corporatized company, which like many medical practices, seems to prioritize turning people over quickly and getting the most money out of patients and insurance companies at the expense of good patient care and clear communication. Forefront has 2 offices within 45 minutes of us--Bloomington, IN. (Dr. Crawford) and Columbus, IN. (Dr. Natali.) This is NOT a review of either Dr Crawford (whom I saw in Columbus and liked very much) or Dr. Natali (whom I waited for in the Bloomington office, but did not see.) This is a review of the workings of their offices--which is where patients have most of our dealings. Went to the Columbus office for a skin biopsy. They scheduled a follow-up visit at the Bloomington office 19 days later to receive results. On day of scheduled visit, I waited 50 minutes in waiting room at Bloomington office to see MD & receive biopsy results. Was FINALLY called back to exam area and was told by a nurse that they were sorry, but they did not have biopsy report, nor did they know where the results might be or who might have them. When I asked the nurse why I wasn't called to reschedule the appointment OR, at the very least, why I was allowed to sit in the waiting room for 50 minutes, the response was to blame the Columbus office. They refunded my copay and sent me on my way with no rescheduled appointment or promise of a phone call when/if they "found" the biopsy report. When I called the Columbus office later that day, they had no biopsy report either. They at least said they would check and call me back. They called back shortly to report they "found" the biopsy results. (They blamed our insurance for using a different lab.) I was told the report would be given to Dr Crawford and he would call me after looking at it. read more

If I could leave no Stars I would I recently visited Forefront Dermatology At 415 S Landmark Bloomington Indiana. I was there as a first patient to see Dr. Crawford. What would happen in the hours later was an outrage. When I arrived at 8am for my appt. I was greeted by 2 others that had a 7:15am apt. I thought this to be odd as it was already 8am. As time passed 9:00am rolled around and the gentleman who arrived at 7:15 was called back and we were still waiting. I thought we surely had to be next. Turns out all of the examination rooms were full. So we were far from next. To top it off more people came in just after 9:00am. Around 9:30am the place was full, with people standing. Not one time did anyone come to apologize or let us know of the situation. One lady was 92 years young and bless her heart she was there for surgery, with the same Dr. Crawford that booked all of us at once. I never did get to see Dr. Crawford of Forefront Dermatology because all those hours of sitting I pulled my back out and had to leave. I sat there for two hours. Arrived at 8am and left at 9:55am with nothing to show for it. This was my first visit and my very last. On there voicemail Forefront claims to care about patients. I have called twice to request management call me over this situation. I've heard nothing. So I take to you social media. Please do your self a favor and do not go to these people. It's clear by looking at the waiting room these people are about Money $$ and not our well being. I feel as though all we were to them is cattle in a pen.
