Currency Exchange International, or CXI, claims to have very competitive rates, and this one is conveniently located in a kiosk at Dadeland Mall. I needed to exchange a few hundred $$ and I wasn't sure if I'd need to call ahead or use their website to order, but they had the currency and amount I needed, no problem. They charged a $5.00 exchange fee, and a "currency price protection" fee of $5.95 which will supposedly give me a more attractive rate with no additional fees if I need to return here and exchange any unused foreign currency back to USD following my trip. I appreciate having found CXI, because some banks don't deal in certain foreign currencies, or are limited as to how much they can convert, and their exchange rates are sometimes very poor. Those limitations don't seem to be an issue for Currency Exchange International. Also, as most anyone who's traveled abroad can attest, the foreign currency exchanges located in touristy places like airports and train stations often have really horrible exchange rates, or charge excessive fees. Better to come here to CXI ahead of time.
