Doctors are top notch............ After that everything goes down hill..... The office staff are rude and could care less...never an hello....never Hi ,how are you....when asked to speak with someone in charge? I was told that nobody is in charge...the office mgr comes in sporadically and nobody knows when.....I finally spoke with someone that identified herself as the office mgr.....she informed me that perhaps I should go elsewhere if I didn't like the way things were run in the office....I DID ! I should of read the reviews before...most of them commend the drs, but destroy the office staff....so it can't be me ! For the most part each and every review on the Yelp website receives a response from the provider.....restaurants, dealerships, plumbers, etc.....yet for some reason Forest Health doesn't respond....it's very obvious that they don't care !!!! read more

I've been a patient of Forest Health for over 9 years. The drs are great. My dr returns phone calls, answers email and is generally concerned about my health. During covid, she called me at home almost every day. I recently had a hip operation which she wasn't involved in, but she did call me to see how I was doing. Now that bad part....the office staff is terrible. Each time I'm there I have to ask myself if I'm there for them or are they there for me? There is never hi, welcome, what time is your appointment? It's always yes? Why are you here? Never have a seat....it;s always....next ! Today I received a phone call about my upcoming appointment.,.,.,I asked who I was speaking with? The answer was " we don't give you people our names"....don't I have a right to know who I was speaking with? Dr. Kavaler has been my primary care Doctor for over a decade. He's unbelievable. Thoughtful, caring and kind. Every specialist he refers is wonderful as well. He is so thorough and truly cares. Poor care! went Monday 12/8 tested negative for RSV, Flu & Covid. I was told to ride it out and eat lots of chicken soup. Felt worse on Tuesday 12/9 and was sent home from work, went back to them on 12/9 and was prescribed oral steroid. Whatever I had came back worse this week. Called them today 12/18 at 2:45pm was told I would be called back, called them again at 4:30pm and was told I would be called back. They closed the office and got NO CALL. I have been a patient for many years at this practice and have seen several of the doctors. My experience has always been good. I don't feel like I wait too long, and Dr Zukhova is very professional and thorough. I have also had blood drawn many times without any issues, and I am always been able to make appointments in an acceptable amount of time. To see so many poor reviews may reflect how the practice was 7-10 years ago, but for me, this practice has never let me down. read more

I have been a patient of this group for over twenty years. I currently see dr Kavaler. He is the best diagnostician I have ever seen. Very thorough. He listens to every word you say and goes through possible causes and treatment plans before he suggests. He looks at your other ailments, prescription and lifestyle to come up with a plan. He refers you to the best specialists in the area On a personal level, he is a good communicator and puts you at ease. If my life was on the line, he's the doctor I would want checking me out to come up with a plan. That's how confident I am of his ability. read more

I found the front desk extremely rude and my former doctor to be glib so I have left the office.

I was told to call upon arrival. I specified that I was on my work break and needed to be seen at the time of my appointment, so to please let me know of any delays. I was immediately bought into the room, where I was left alone for 25 mins. I told the M.A to let the doctor know I couldn't stay any longer so I had to go, and she very nonchalant said okay. Great Doctors Horrific telephone system making it very difficult to reach them. For a company that claims to be interested in their patients one would think they would have a system that reflects this. Healthcare is more than just the doctors, its also about administration and customer service. Worst customer service ever, called to make an appointment 2 weeks ago, came today and they asked me why I came today and then they said that i actually didn't have an appointment with a doctor (and I just gave birth I am very tired with time)like we can take u in 2 hours. Before that I asked to sign some doc, i call in advance them to make sure that they can do it if my doctor away, they awarded me they can, they never call me and when I call myself they said we left u a message and they even didn't call the right phone ( and I am on their profile) to tell that i need to wait for my doctor to come from vacation 1 star I like the doctor read more

I have been going to Forest Health for close to 20 years now, first seeing Dr. Kushner and now seeing Dr. Kavaler. I still like Kushner but Kavaler has a sense of humor that I can appreciate and we get along quite well. Even when I have had to see other doctors or the nurse practitioners, I never had a bad experience. I will say their phone system is horrendous (which is why I gave four stars instead of five). Whoever thought that programming it this way was a good idea should be fired. If you need to get through to referrals or billing, you have to sit through a diatribe of other useless information before you can find out what number you need to press. How about putting ALL of the doctors on the same system instead of giving them different numbers? My husband works on VOIP systems so I know this is possible. I actually wrote down the numbers one time so I don't have to sit through all that crap each time I call. As for the staff, I have never had an issue. Have any of you ever heard the saying "you can attract more bees with honey than vinegar?" Try it sometimes. They have to deal with rude people all day themselves. Turn the tables around. How do you think they feel? If you are nice to them, you'd be surprised how nice they will be to you. I know with the ladies I have been dealing with recently they have thanked me for being nice to them. I shouldn't be thanked. This should be normal behavior. Yet, because I am nice to them, they are willing to go the extra mile for me. They are more than accommodating to me and they have gone above and beyond many times to help me out (and quite quickly). Great physicians and NP, but the some members of the front desk/office staff are incredibly rude. The attitude received for asking a simple question is absolutely unreal. I also work in medicine, and wouldn't dream of speaking to people this way. I was looking to make an appointment due to having a fever, and would be coming from work, and asked a question about the average wait time, what to expect, and mentioned it could be even a very rough estimate. I understand that there can sometimes be a wait, and was not looking for a problem, just a simple answer. I received an angry comment saying "Im sorry but you're asking me to predict tomorrow, and I just cant do that." with absolute disgust. How can you treat sick people like this? Seriously considering moving to a different office where you don't get treated like scum for asking a simple question. read more

Been coming here for about 2 years. Some of The girls at check in and out always looks grumpy or with bad attitudes. The girls who bring you in which are the Medical assistant are very friendly and make u feel welcomed and always have a way of making you feel comfortable. Dr. kavaler and Dr. Anshelevich are awesome and caring doctors. Some doctors I noticed are very unprofessional and scream at their staff in front of patients. OVery rude and unessesary in front of patients. Overall is an ok office. Still thinking if I will be switching doctors office or not. read more

I had an intermittent fever also have a cardiac history and they never thought to direct me to my cardiologist. Instead they prescribed different antibiotics over a period of 4 weeks. My primary went on vacation so the results of blood work went unreviewed for a week. They also misdiagnosed my lime disease and then asked for the wrong blood test to check if it cleared up. They also refused to retest because "insurance probably would not cover it". read more

They have been very good to us; always going the extra mile to ensure our comfort as well as make sure we are in tip-top shape. I looked at these reviews and saw that the same things have happened to my husband and me. I called trying to get an appointment for him since he gave up after the women who answered the phone was rude and not helpful. This is one of many many examples of this behavior. The woman I spoke to was rude and unprofessional. Surprise! It makes you think too when you call and are not in the best mood because you are sick how much worse will they treat you. I have been a patient with Forest Healthcare in Paramus for many years. Sadly, I have seen the office deteriorate in terms of staff and how they treat patients. During my last appointment a woman whom another receptionist called Terry sat at the check-in window. She is by far the most unprofessional, rude, and condescending person I have encountered in a medical setting. Prison inmates are probably more friendly and professional than this person. She refuses to make eye contact and snaps if you dare to ask a single question. As I waited to be called in for my appointment she made multiple rude comments about patients and other staff members, using derogatory terms that could easily be heard in the waiting room. HORRIBLE! There is absolutely no reason why someone with such disgusting behavior should be employed in customer service, let alone a medical office where sick people go for help. The phone system is another disaster. It's nearly impossible to get through to anyone, and once you do manage to get someone on the phone they generally don't know what they are doing. Every time it seems to be a new hire and the attitudes get worse and worse. Saying I'm disappointed is an understatement. Save yourself the time and find a different medical practice to go to. There are many other offices out there where you won't get treated like trash repeatedly. read more

Attempting to contact a doctor is basically impossible. Their 'front desk' is comprised of total incompetents.

My doctor is great but the phone system is pretty bad. I'd recommend getting a direct extension to your doctors desk if possible since it's difficult to track them down through the operator . read more

The doctors at Forest health Care are good but the administrator and customer service are terrible. The people of the phone are often quite rude. Also I an currently getting sued by the pathology lab they use, as they sent my tests out of network with out informing me. This left me liable for hundred of dollars of totally unnecessary fees. I have moved out of the area and haven't found anyone, provider or staff, that cares as much for their patients like this group does, or has the knowledge to make me confident in my Dr. I travel over an hour just to keep him as my primary. Been going there for 5 years. Doctors are good. The reason I know that, is I've been passed around from a ANP to two other doctors. I never requested these changes. Now to get to the phone, reception, and follow up. The staff is not the most cheerful group. Getting in touch with a doctor is impossible, if you can get trough the automated phone service. The doctors I have had do not call you back or refill your prescriptions in a timely manner. I am now looking into better options. read more
