I just buried my mother this past week. The people who worked with my wife & myself were more than outstanding, especially Amy. She was a blessing. She was very well informed on the details that needed to be dealt with at the time. She was a God-sent. We really needed someone like her at this time. They helped with every need - some even before we knew we needed them. I would recommend this cemetery within the Shreveport, Louisiana area. My father & grandparents also have grave sites there. My wife & I are both to be buried there too. read more

I contacted them 2 months ago with tree branches on graves and families plots not in good shape have 3 families buried in 3 spots. Was contacted after and was pleased of results. Hope the whole places gets worked done. Pay good money for the plots and space there read more

My husband is buried in Forest Park South and that is the most herendous looking cemetery I have ever seen. He's been there almost 11 years and it gets worse every year. I cannot believe that a business would allow the grounds where people's loved ones are buried Get in the condition it is in. I'm sure with hardly any or no more lots to sell they don't care what happens or how it looks. Donot buy plots from any of the Forest park cemetery s. Horrible, horrible conditions with no lawn care. I'm disappointed with the timeframe of completion of a love one buried at the west location and the customer service care. I was told that the marker was completed but yet it has not been delivered or affixed to the mausoleum The month of July makes seven months since my mother's death. read more

This might be because of the sunny day, but this was a very pretty cemetery, it has a calming effect. It's located fairly close to LSU Health Science Center. read more

My mother died in 1974 and my father purchased a family plot at the time. When my father passed, we were fortunate to know his wishes were to join her and my brother there. As he passed in New Orleans and we weren't sure of the process, we decided to work backwards with the cemetery and were guided seamlessly by Mike Coates. Mike is so kind and provided his cell phone for constant communication as we worked through details. He provided recommendations for a local florist and even connected us to a local Minister to speak during the service as religion was very important to my Dad. Mike worked hand-in-hand with the funeral home from New Orleans and all went as planned as he was laid to his final rest. We highly recommend Mike and Forest Park East. read more

Cemetery is looking much better. Staff is working hard to maintain and make improvements. Staff is professional and courteous.

This place is a disaster, with trees growing out of graves, tombstones surrounded by trash trees and weeds, roads crumbling and not repaired. The marble has been removed from the mausoleums and replaced with granite, and the names have been improperly etched into that granite. I even saw a homemade 'for sale' sign on one of the empty plots. Money is charged for perpetual care for each grave, and it seems that the money has been stolen and is no longer there to maintain the place. When this cemetery was sold years ago, it was the beginning of the end. It is disgusting, and the people who allowed this to happen to the property are scumbags. The photos used on their website and in their promotions are old, and do not represent what you will see if you attempt to drive through the cemetery on the dilapidated roads. I suggest 4 wheel drive only. read more

Once a beautiful cemetery when Mr Rasberry owned it but after being sold one or more times it is a disaster in my opinion. My Grandmother, several Aunts and Uncles, many Friends and my Parents are buried there and I just can't believe the condition of the once beautiful grounds when I visit there. Very Sad situation! If I could...I would dig my parents UP and move them somewhere else. This used to be beautiful, respectful and peaceful...where one could feel good about their loved one's final resting place. Now? Its atrocious. You need a 4-wheel drive to navigate around....the grounds are in disrepair...they roll their equipment over the graves and leave tire tracks...no respect what so ever. They have demolished an old building in the back of the property and simply left the ruins there...its horrible. The new owners are clearly in it for money and money alone. Its shameful. I have had some bad dealings with this Cemetery. They were so kind and awesome when our mother died, then they became different people. A step on our plot, mysteriously was broken. They claim they know nothing about it. The general manager lies straight to your face , claiming , " I have never heard of this before, " even though we all sat in a long meeting about the step. They never planted grass or even seed on the grave. The mud pours down the grave site onto the step. Grass clippings are always all over the steps , streets etc. Lets not even mention the water is always cut off , so we can never water the flowers we have planted. My youngest son has been at Forest Park West since 1991 so I have a long history with the cemetery. In the beginning everything about the facility was great. Small problems would arise occasionally, but would be taken care of immediately. As an example, a Headstone that may not be not level would be reset right away. I have always taken care of cutting and trimming the grass, fertilizing and applying weld control, and always took great pride in maintaining our four lots, keeping them green and pretty. Starting three years ago there has been no water available in our section. There is currently water with good pressure across the street now (was not working during the first of this summer) but, with three 100 ft. hoses strung together to reach the closest working hydrant, I can not get enough pressure to water. I have gone into the office on numerous occasions regarding this problem, Story in the office is always the same - "we had a break and we are working on it - will get it fixed as soon as we can". How long does it take to fix a broken plastic line? This place did not used to be like this until it was sold a while back - new owner must have skimmed maintenance budget way back. Don't bothering contacting the corporate owner - I tried that and they just referred me back to the local office and the same guys promising "we'll take care of it for you". To this date there is still no water in our section and no one seems to care. Still getting the same runaround. I can not recommend this cemetery and if you care about a loved one, this is not the place. I know of many issues that people are having with this cemetery, but the lack of water is my main issue right now. read more

I am only sorry that this is where we have owned our burial plots for 3 generations and we must use them in the future. They used to be a good company but have gone to hell in a hand basket. I have been trying to settle my Aunt's interment since Feb. I won't even go into all the flub ups that we incurred in the process of getting her ashes buried but it was one after another in spite of the fact that I had spent 6 hours in their office arranging and paying for everything. (Did I mention that they have had our money since January?) They assured me that her marker would match that of her parents and her siblings. I paid for it in full. The first mock-up did not match at all. I had them change that. They then said they would contact me as soon as it was set in the ground. They did not. I called only to find out that it had been set for weeks when I called. I asked for a picture. They emailed me one but told me that the glare was really bad. I thought surely that was why it didn't seem to match the others. A week and a half ago I drove out to see it. It does not match at all and glare or no glare, you cannot read it because the whole thing, lettering and all, is white. I drag someone one from Forest Park out to discuss it. He calls me back a week and a half later to tell me that the thing is, I bought Star Blue granite for my Aunt and that my other relatives have Rock of Ages granite.??? He tells me that the dark lettering on theirs, and many other markers throughout the cemetery, is dirt and that he can have my other relatives' marker power washed? My grandparents have been there over 50 years and he is going to remove the color on the lettering? I have used Forest park many times over the years and it was wonderful. I was told that it sold and is a franchise operation now. Apparently, these people running and staffing it now have NO experience in the business. read more

Over many months we made contacts with this facility to arrange the placement of a stone marker for my mother in law who died in the spring of 2012. It was arranged that the placement could be made and we would come back the next day for an informal memorial with some family members. We traveled about 900 miles to get there. When we took the marker. They said they were busy that day and didn't have time to place the marker. That it would be next week and they would send a picture via email. They weren't initially even going to help carry the stone marker into their building. That we had cremated ashes, I guess, didn't count as much as having a body to place. So we stood in the rain the next day looking at a plot of ground with nothing on it and scattered some of her ashes there. Pitiful service. On top of that, we never received a picture or any other indication that they had done what they were paid a considerable amount of money to do. We didn't just drop in, it was suppose to be arranged. So unless you have a big bucks event there don't expect empathy or support. read more
