Nursing homes are never a fun place to go, in my opinion. I have never liked going to them since I…read morewas a child because they just exude so much sadness, and "the end is near" resonates in my head as I cross over into that threshold. When I heard the news that my grandpa was being transferred to this nursing home from the hospital my heart sank. I didn't wan to go. Hospitals are bad enough, but nursing homes...ugh. Not to get too much into my personal life, but my grandpa is there because he needs to have physical therapy after a mini stroke. I honestly didn't know nursing homes offered such services, and I decided to go and see what this was all about. As I pulled into the parking lot of the nursing home, my stomach knotted up and my heart started to beat a little faster. Old images of preconceived ideas shot up as old memories thrust themselves forward and I was dreading it. I gathered my wits, and walked into the lobby. The receptionist must be used to the regulars that come in because she didn't offer to help me, and didn't require me to sign in. I asked her where to go, and she gave me a vague idea after I walked through the double doors. Once I walked in to the main section, I have to admit I was a bit surprised. The halls were well lit, and ironic as it sounds, the place didn't smell of the traditional nursing homes that I remember from the past. There were some people sitting in the halls, but the majority of them were smiling and seemed happy, and well taken care of. When I got down to the physical therapy section to see my grandpa, I was surprised to see a chorus going, and the halls were swelling with beautiful and happy voices singing songs that I'm sure invoked many memories of youth. In the physical therapy ward I was even more pleased when I saw the staff and how they treated the people. They knew each one by name, and treated them all with kid gloves, while still being encouraging enough to get them to do their therapy. It made me feel so much better, and I'm so glad that I actually went down there to see this place. The people weren't just wandering around looking lost, and every chair and bed had an alarm on it in case that resident got up or fell at any time. When it comes to nursing homes, this one definitely seems to be high on the list and has definitely changed my stereotypical view of these places. Keep up the great work Tri-County Extended Care, and thank you for putting me a little more at ease.

They very nicely told me for what I needed the total cost would be this amount, ($230.00) if I paid in full that day. The Dr. himself even noticed that i did not have insurance and also said the same, and my mother and I were both there to verify. At the end of the appointment(a couple of x-rays) I paid the full amount. A few weeks later I get a bill for another good amount of money. I called the office and was told flat out that not only I was a liar, but my mother who was also there when the conversation happened was also lying. So she stated I had no choice but to pay the additional bill. She would not even listen to any details about the conversations we had at the office! Why would I have paid the full amount that day if they were going to bill me for that and more! My husband said to not pay it and we will go see them, but I am not that type of person so I just started making payments on every bill they sent each month-on time every time! I then get a nasty letter saying they are sending me to collections for the remaining $53.00 I owe them, and I have never missed 1 month of payments-never! It stated they can basically ruin me and "you would not want that to happen". That really upset me so I wrote them a letter and told them how I have been paying this bill every month for something that I do not even owe-and now you send me a nasty collections letter for the last $53.00??? I paid them the $53.00 of the "made up" bill and just know to never go there again. I would not trust this place for any medical affairs at all-they are as dis-honest as they come. If they cant even do their billing honestly, who knows what the rest of the service is like! This office must work on commission and I guess someone wanted a bonus.

I was introduced to Stretch Physical Therapy and met the owner at the grand opening event at Jack…read moreRabbit - Glendale. Discussed some pain I was having in my knee and was given enough information to interest me to schedule a session at the clinic. Worked through my hip and knee pain by focusing on stretches in the hip and calf. Also took away homework stretches that help manage pain and strengthen muscles between session. They have convenient location in West Chester with early morning appointments available. During my multiple sessions I used several tools for stretching and strengthening muscles that may have become weak and non-supportive. They offer and I've had sessions with dry needing and cupping for helping to relax muscles. Working with DPT Katie for general PT sessions and DPT Michael for dry needling, I am happy with the results seen so far. One thing, I would like to see changed/improved is increased partnership with insurance companies for in network benefits. They really put time and effort into offering non-surgical pain management solutions.

I learned how to stretch and exercise safely and felt so much better. Then I hurt myself badly one summer afternoon, just getting out of a car. I found out that I had completely torn my meniscus in my right knee - ironically the knee which had been in better shape. As soon as I could after my surgery, I was back at Stretch. The care was thoughtful and considerate - even when the work was really hard. The care was personalized: we shifted approaches as my inflammation calmed and my flexibility increased, always based on what I had to say about my pain, discomfort and what I needed to do on a day-to-day basis. Even after a setback, Stretch collaborated with me on how I could enjoy my family over the holidays while protecting my health. Eventually, we began to do more complex exercises, matching to the "life skills" I wanted back. I began to have far less problems on stairs, was able to stand for three hours at a work event, and was even able to get out of a car without moving the seat and concentrating on every move. At every step, the care I received at Stretch was skilled, compassionate, kind and customized.
