    Rusty's paw print

We received our lil guy back in the most respectful manner. The gentleman that brought him home to us was as sweet as can be. For the situation, the service and manner of how everything was done and put together brought great comfort to us.

    My last name is DAVIS.

In the past year, I have had to put 4 pets to sleep. Initially I chose this place because they weren't a corporation and would allow me to witness the cremation to make sure I get back my pets remains without a doubt in my mind. My first 2 cremations were on the same day. I dealt with Bethany on that day. I would say things went smoothly, other than I had to identify after which side each cat was on, since they didn't put the metal ID tags in with them. They kept them outside of the furnace during the cremation. Also my last name is DAVIS. On one cremation certificate, they got my last name right, and on the other they put Alvarez. These again were cremated on the same day at the same time, and those last names are not the same or similar. The second time I went there I dealt with Bethany again. Things went smoothly, and I again got to witness my pet being put in as well as taken out of the furnace, to make sure that I knew without a doubt in my mind that was my pet. The last time I will ever go to this place I dealt with Tom or Tim. I don't know and I don't care. I made an appointment to get my dog, who I lost rather suddenly and she was my most favorite pet ever, at 9:30 AM for literally just one day later. He took all of my information to avoid having to do that right before cremation. I arrived and I'm pretty sure not only he forgot I had an appointment that I had literally scheduled the day before, but he had misplaced all my and my dog's information. I had to repeat it again. Then they messed around for 45 minutes in their original furnace room before finally being ready to cremate my dog at 10:15 in a new furnace room which I hadn't been in before. I had to ask to see my pet before they put her in the furnace, which I hadn't had to do with Bethany. I also asked for a specific paw to have a paw print made of. I even explained why, because she had cancer and had 2 toes removed from that foot. After 2 hours, a tin of ashes was brought out to me. I did not get to witness my dog being removed from the furnace. I will never be 100% sure that these are in fact my dog's ashes. Then he proceeds to tell me oops, he didn't tell the girl who made the paw print which one to use, and they used the wrong paw, not the one I specifically asked for and explained why. Too late now, my dog is a pile of ashes, supposedly in this tin. And on top of all that, he insulted me by saying "Because of this mistake we are giving you a certificate for 10% off any of our glass sculptures". Except I know that they put that exact certificate in every packet they give to everyone who goes there. He was just trying to pull more money for me at my emotional expense, trying to play it off like it was a special discount to make up for their very major mistakes. If you actually felt bad you would have given me a percentage off the cremation which was an awful experience for me. You cannot say anything to justify this. I still have other pets, who knows when they will die, but I would rather drive out of state than to ever go back and experience subpar service, insult, and major mistakes. Please do your pet a favor and go elsewhere.

Everything except BooMan's picture & Sympathy card, was included in the package I purchased for him.

I highly recommend Forever Above. They are compassionate, caring & understanding, & very professional. I am so glad that I was pro-active and had everything ready and setup for the heartbreaking loss of my/our BooMan. He was 2 months & 10 days from turning 22. We almost lost him 5 times, but he always rebounded, but we also knew he couldn't live forever. I got online & Forever Above had excellent referrals. I didn't exactly know what I was looking for when I contacted Forever Above. They were so polite & understanding, & guided me through the services they offered. I really felt better after setting things up with them. I called them a couple of times when he wasn't in good shape, & they assured me whenever I needed them, they would be there. About 6:30am October 13th, my/our BooMan went to heaven. I called Forever Above, & Tom arrived shortly after, & was very comforting to all of us. He was courteous & respectful, & treated BooMan with grace & compassion as he carried him out. Once he was in the van, we said our final goodbyes, & Tom gave each of us a hug, & told us how sorry he was for our loss. He told us BooMan could be coming back home as early as Friday, & I picked him up Saturday morning at their very nice & comfortable office. They have went out of their way to make this as easy on us as possible, & I can't even begin to tell you how much it was appreciated. Their service is excellent from start to finish. I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Review of VCA Advanced Veterinary Center - 7712 Crosspoint Commons, Fishers, IN 46038…read more I had a very disappointing experience at VCA Advanced Veterinary Center in Fishers. While I understand that veterinary environments can be busy and stressful, professionalism and compassion should never be optional -- especially in an emergency care setting. One of the staff members, Danielle, spoke to me in a way that felt dismissive and condescending. When you're already worried about your pet, the last thing you need is to feel talked down to. Communication matters, and tone matters even more when clients are under stress. What was even more frustrating was the sense that administrative or social corrections seemed to take priority over actually helping patients get seen. Instead of focusing on the urgency of care, there appeared to be more concern about correcting people in conversation. In an advanced veterinary center, the primary focus should always be on patient care and compassion. Additionally, the overall atmosphere felt uncomfortable. Some staff members appeared disrespectful not only toward clients but also toward their own coworkers. It did not feel like a supportive or team-oriented environment. When employees seem disengaged or dismissive, it reflects poorly on the entire organization. I truly hope management takes feedback seriously and works on improving communication, professionalism, and overall workplace culture. Pet owners bring their animals here during vulnerable moments -- they deserve empathy, urgency, and respect.

Avoid VCA if possible and certainly do not subject your pet to the care of Dr. Natalia Jurcak--or…read morewhatever name she is using now. She insisted that we subject our cat, Lily, to yet another MRI before she started Lily on Palladia. However, she stated the drug before reading the MRI. In doing so, she caused Lily great discomfort and hastened her death. When it was clear that Lily was reacting very poorly, our experience with the emergency department at VCA made the situation worse. With the help of VEG and Lap of Love, we were able to get Lily the help and rest she so needed. After her death, we received flowers and cards from three other vet groups but no acknowledgement from VCA. VCA is clearly more oriented to money making than pet care. Why charge us thousands of dollars for an MRI that isn't even read before subjecting Lily to an end that was far worse than it had to be. Indiana law permits depositions to be taken prior to the filing of a lawsuit, and I intend to use that provision of the law. I tried easier ways to get answers but VCA was not accommodating. No one called me as I was told they would. Just to be clear, I am not seeking money. I want an explanation, an acknowledgement, and an apology. I will use every legal means available to obtain that.

Dr. Cable comes in with a very calm manner and loads of yummy dog treats: * peanut butter, which is smeared on a paper plate * wet dog food, also put on a paper plate * other good things my girls love/loved. Each had a slightly rough first meeting, as they hadn't met her, but once they got whiffs of things in the basket she brings in, well, they were in love. She's always aware of their moods and reactions and easily works to reassure them, which has been quite successful. The main issue I have has been getting one or the other through the waiting room, as both are/were very protective. The costs are a bit high, but I've joked with friends that I put money into a matching 401(k) at all my jobs mostly for my dogs' care. Even if I hadn't, I'd stick with Dr. Cable. The staff is also exceptional. They've gotten to know my dogs and have helped with getting them in the door and into an exam room. So appreciate that.

In addition to the euthanasia fee of $197, I had requested an individual cremation, with return of the ashes, and was charged $475 for this. This seemed high, but in a stressful situation, I trusted that I was fairly being charged the going rate for this area. Days later, I decided to check with 12 other local vet offices to get their quotes for similar cremation services. Quotes ranged from $198 to $301! I contacted Julie, the Windermere hospital manager to see if there was a mistake on my bill. She said the fee was correct, attributed the high price to the cremation service they used, and wouldn't make any adjustment to my bill. When I received my cat back and saw the name of the cremation service on the paperwork, it turned out to be the same one used by 2 of the other practices that quoted me a price of just under $220! I feel very taken advantage of by Windermere Animal Hospital at a traumatic time, and will not return to this office in the future.

They advised the doctor had to look at him. I asked do I get a report? How is he? They said no report just a visual inspection. I never agreed to this charge. I just paid it and left. My cat was wet, petrified and smelled horrible. I will never go back there for anything.
