After spending the morning at the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, we made Forever Marilyn our second stop in town around midday, and it was really fun. The statue is huge and impressive, definitely a great spot for photos. Parking is easy and convenient, and there are a few restaurants nearby if you want to grab a bite before or after. Since we visited around lunchtime, there weren't too many people, which made it easy to get good shots. It's free to visit, and you can easily spend 15-30 minutes just taking photos and enjoying the atmosphere. A nice little stop if you're in Palm Springs!

We had to stop here for a photo with this fun sculpture of the iconic Marilyn Monroe. It's just fun! We stopped by there after dinner. The weather was perfect outside and it wasn't crowded then. People were courteously taking turns and getting to know each other while we waited for our turn.

A kiss on the hand May be quite continental But diamonds are a girl's best friend A kiss may be grand But it won't pay the rental On your humble flat Or help you at the automat... In her classic windswept pose above the subway grate from "The Seven Year Itch", this Marilyn is 26 feet tall and 34,300 pounds, but the studio bosses aren't forcing her to lose weight. That's because it's a statue constructed from painted stainless steel and aluminum. Jamie W and I made a date with Marilyn just before she moved early last year. Yes, they moved her exactly 100 feet, so she wouldn't block the Palm Springs Art Museum. It cost them $500,000, a rather princely sum considering that she's now partially hidden by a grove of palm trees. The Committee to Relocate Marilyn had to be formed. Oh well, the real Marilyn's historic ties with Palm Springs make it worthwhile. Time rolls on And youth is gone And you can't straighten up when you bend But stiff back Or stiff knees You stand straight at Tiffany's Diamonds, Diamonds I don't mean rhinestones! Even though I've been to Palm Springs more times than I can count, Forever Marilyn statue is still a place I check out. Did you even go to Palm Springs if you didn't stop by... LoL... I don't what was going on today, if there was an event or something. But a Monday afternoon, the city was packed. Of course there's always a line with people waiting for a picture. The good thing about it, people are actually quite respectful waiting for their pictures. And gracious enough to take pictures for you. It's at the new spot literally right across from where it used to be infront of the museum. It's house at the little park next door. Plenty of seating at one of the tables or along the garden wall. A cute little dessert garden next to the police station. Also, there's public restrooms just behind her which is pretty clean. Regardless whenever you come to see her, they'll always be a crowd. Plus with the beautiful mountain as the backdrop, she's meant to shine. Palm Springs, you can't come and not have a picture with her. It's a must....

As a Marilyn Monroe fan I was really excited to see this. We went early Saturday morning to miss the crowds and I was able to get a great picture.

Must see : visit spot when you're in Palm Springs. This FOREVER MARILYN statue is HUGE, perfectly crafted and very impressive. It is beautiful and spectacular!! A perfect picture spot. There is a park and benches nearby, where you can sit down and enjoy the statue/ scenery and do a bit of people watch. ;) Very nice!

A nice tribute to the famous one and only Ms. Norma Jean M. Artist Seward Johnson sculpted this huge work of art! What an awesome piece. This tall sculpture is on a small block and easy to find. Open to the public, free to admire! Beautiful and unique!

"A wise girl knows her limits. A smart girl knows that she has none." - Marilyn Monroe If statues could strut, this one would be sashaying down the runway. Enter Forever Marilyn, the 26-foot-tall steel-and-aluminum goddess who graces downtown Palm Springs, near the Palm Springs Art Museum, with the kind of presence that makes you want to say, "Yaaas, queen!" Inspired by Marilyn Monroe's iconic scene from The Seven Year Itch, this statue, created by Seward Johnson, captures her mid-twirl, dress billowing, and confidence radiating. It's a moment frozen in time, celebrating a woman who knew how to own her space and her sensuality. Forever Marilyn isn't just a statue; it's a statement. She stands tall, turning heads, sparking conversations, and reminding us that women have always been, and will always be, forces to be reckoned with. She was a trailblazer who navigated a male-dominated industry with grace and grit. This statue isn't just a tribute to her beauty; it's a nod to her strength, her intelligence, and her unapologetic femininity. So the next time you're in Palm Springs, give a wink to the blonde bombshell who continues to inspire and empower. Because if there's one thing Marilyn taught us, it's that confidence is the best accessory.

Marilyn has moved! Marilyn may have moved from her prominent spot in Palm Springs but she is not too far away from her original spot! She still stands tall on the corner of Bellare and Museum street. Right near the art museum. Definitely worth a stop to grab a picture with the infamous Marilyn Monroe statue that stands 26feet tall! So why was she moved? Apparently people felt the statue may be sexist with her skirt flipped up according to media. You be the judged on this one!

Adorable spot for snapping fun photos Such a charming place to capture cute moments.

This large statue of Marilyn Monroe in her famous pose is a must see if you are a fan. Located on the corner of Museum Way and Belardo Rd at the Downtown Park a block away from the Palm Springs Art Museum. There are some 20 minutes street parking around the area if you just want to take some quick photos, otherwise there are parking lots around the area for extended parking if you plan on walking around downtown Palm Springs or want to check out the art museum.

Free to visit and you can enjoy the cactus garden and wander around the gardens. Museum and gift shop as well as cafe is on sites. But this visit, we took the tour of the Annenberg property. Tour is about 90 min and about 60.00 per person. They do recommend you come a little early to view and enjoy the main building where the cactus garden was but we were a little behind and made it right before the tour started. The tour host 7 person per guided tours. We start off at check in and then met with our guide, Hema. At the beginning you start off on the golf carts where your guide gives you an introduction to the family and the property. The gate into the main residence is around the corner from the public property. It's amazing to see how someone turned a barren desert landscape into an oasis. The brief cart ride to main door was quite nice. A massive golf property hidden in the desert. Once you approached the main property, it's welcomed by a massive water feature. A knock on the double doors lead you into the lobby of the house. Just walking into the property, it's a true MCM oasis. To find out the property only has just the primary bedroom was insane as it was massive. Theres no picture allowed inside but outside was fine. Hema, very detailed in everything she explained was very sweet and detail oriented. Walking through the different rooms and seeing all the amazing things collected by both Walter and Leonore Annenberg was quite interesting. The office which house all of Walter's work, pictures of family, friends and political figures. The different room that's in the main house, their amazing artwork which some are the original pieces. Then you have the way they lived, very elegantly. Each room had their own unique style. The designer and architect sure had their hands full with detail designed of everything on site. The furniture, one of a kind design with amazing embroidery. Walter had an amazing collection of artwork and sculptures. Seeing them throughout the house and the way it was displayed in different room of the house was spectacular. Even the kitchen was nice. Still fully functional as it's still used for summits. The outside alone is one in a million. The massive property with many lakes that is fully stocked for fishing. The golf course which is a golfers heaven. And then you have the pool with a million dollar view of the mountains as the backdrop. Not only the main house, there's the guest house which is utilized for guest. And they're know by different color rooms. And by that, it's fully decorated in the color palette. That building also all looks out to the pool and mountain. Leonore, with her favorite color yellow also had a rose garden designed in the property. The tour lets you inside the lives of the Annenberg and the amazing lives they've lived. Housing major political figures, celebrities and the amazing parties had. The massive art collection and endless photos of everyone, it was a sight to see. This is a tour worth checking out and learning about the Annenberg. Plus, Hema our tour guide was excellent.

Shiprock, a formidable rock formation rises from the desert floor. Kinda resembles a majestic ship sailing through sandy seas. The Navajo people held it sacred, honoring its significance for generations. Shiprock is a towering, weathered rock commanding respect, shaped by nature's enduring forces. Its origins intrigued me, and I immersed myself in its history. Legend spoke of a great flood, and the Shiprock served as a vessel of salvation for the Navajo people. Transformed into stone, it symbolized protection and resilience. Very very interesting.. Stepping out of my car, I neared the monument, captivated by its grandeur. The colors and patterns etched into the rock unveiled the passage of time. Yet, the desert had other plans. Suddenly, winds roared, untamed and furious. Sand swirled, obscuring the monument. The tempest, relentless, threatened my presence. Struggling to stay upright, I sought shelter in my car. The wind rattled, buffeting the vehicle, while dust particles assaulted the air. It felt as if I'd stumbled into a wild haboob, nature's chaotic storm. With great effort, I retreated to safety, my heart pounding. Inside the car, I realized nature's power had exceeded my expectations. The monument, once serene, transformed into a battleground. Summoning courage, I started the engine and escaped the storm's clutches. Gratitude washed over me as the wind subsided, leaving a calm desert in its wake. With memories of Shiprock imprinted on my mind, it makes me wonder if there is something almost supernatural about this location...
