However, with Omar's Demolition and Construction, everything about this fencing/gate job...really exceeded my expectations! I called Omar on one afternoon to try to find out if they could stop by to take a look and give me a quote for my fencing/gate need and Omar picked up the phone and even stopped by within an hour! He was able to stop by, give me some options of what I could potentially do and give me a quote within that afternoon. Once we agreed on the job, Omar's team was able to procure all the materials that same evening and they got ready to work the next day! From the beginning to end, Pedro was an excellent communicator. He was very responsive to both text and calls. He came quickly for an estimate and then fit us into the schedule. The pressure washing job was excellent. Then the cement team came to do the resurfacing. The main part of that was beautiful, but there were some cracks at corners and seams. Pedro got a team back to do some fixes, and we were happy with the final result. It was harder to get the railing team in. Took him 3 tries with 3 different subs to get them out, so there was a couple of weeks delay. Throughout, Pedro kept me informed of what was going on. When the railing team came, they did a great job with the installation. We are very happy with the final result and highly recommend Pedro and Apple's Construction.

The bid came in very "realistic" (out of 6 bids!) - Chuck, the owner, sent me a list of my neighbor roofs they did to go look at and he worked with me on some details I was concerned with. A 10 man crew came @ 8 Am. and the roof was completely done @ 5. Unbelievable. Great guys - hard working. They even "blew out" the garage where debris had fallen through during the tear off stage. Due to dry rot, this also required carpentry work. In just about a week, they replaced about 40-50 rotten boards, painted the deck wood and walls, did other cosmetic repairs, and ensured everything was moved back to where it was when they were done. Their communication was on point and they always showed up when they said they would. Matt goes beyond as well. He makes sure you're aware of all options on how what kind of finishes are possible and why any might be considered. He addressed structural issues caused by the original builders. He also approaches the project in a manner that ensures the rest of the house won't get damaged during the work (in this case, hoisting all the new and old wood off the roof via rope). After intense urging, I paid Ramon the balance of our verbal agreements less $50, with his promise to God and his mother that he would finish some half-done flashing and poorly attached, dangling flashing at two separate properties. Our business relationship seems to have just concluded today, several weeks later, with a yelling, profanity laced tirade in which he vented his frustrations and denied that he said he would finish the work. I have significant construction experience and backbone, and was barely able to manage him and the endless re-dos which were necessary. Can't recommend his work.

I tried not to panic and cleaned it off with bleach. I also called Environix a week or so later because I smelled that mildewy musty smell. Brian was very nice to me on the phone -- gave me advice, told me more about mold, etc. I was very pleasantly surprised that he didn't do what most companies would do -- tell me he can't tell me anything until he comes to look at it (and charges me). We left it at I will paint it with a mold killing paint that I bought and if I still smelled the smell, to call back and someone would come take a look. Unfortunately, I did have to call them back a couple weeks later and Dustin came to my house. He was great. Given the panic factor that the word "mold" elicits in me (and others I'm sure), he could have played off that and tried to sell me a lot of costly services. But he didn't -- and I really appreciate that. He did a thorough inspection of the room and the crawl space below it and talked to me for quite a while about a plan forward. Yes, I paid for his visit but it was well worth the cost because we came up with a plan for me to address the mold issue (which is thought to currently be limited to the laminate flooring which needs to be replaced anyway). So, I'll try the steps that he and I discussed and hopefully not have to call them again. However, if it doesn't work, I will definitely call them (and recommend them to others) because they are not only helpful but they seem to be very honest and willing to help people (i.e., not just make a quick buck).
