We then saw that a locked fence prevented us from going to the ball park. We tried to walk here other way, to get back in front of the center but no walkway there. Then we tried to re-enter the Star Center but the door was locked. So we walked around the entire ball field we were trying to get into, only to find the gate locked there. We were beginning to think we were completely locked in to the area with no way to get to the ball field or to the front of the Star Center but a Star Center patron let us in when my husband tapped on the door. Had all this not happened we probably would have used the snack bar on a future trip to the ball field. But, lesson learned. Avoid this place!

However, I came to see the guys. I thought I was going to be sweating and working out hard while watching those trainers pictured on the website flex and show me how to do the exercises all to the tunes of the crunkest DJ ever so ... a weekly club outing really. The music was good. Not weak gym music but K104, Kiss FM, and some throwbacks music. The DJ will even take requests to tailor your workout. The exercises were crazy challenging enough for the most serious exerciser person but they will modify (with dignity) for people like me (more of a double cheeseburger, rib tips, and double fudge chocolate cake kind of girl). I wasn't very dedicated but still I grew arm muscles, leg quad muscles, and the 2 vertical ab lines in 5 weeks. I can't give it 5 stars. It's exercise!!! But I do believe I'll do this again. It really was a lot of fun ... in a beauty is pain kind of way.

Bleh... what a gross park. (see pics)…read more Where do I begin? Most of the equipment is broken and/or has been basically abandoned and left to the ravages of elements. There's vulgar graffiti all over the playground equipment (which is apparently next to a hazardous area), lots of broken glass in the parking areas, people who just seem to randomly drive here and park....and you can tell that other then a quick mowing there is little in the way of landscaping. They've converted a large gated area of the park from two baseball areas (one at one time use to be a baseball field - I imagine) to a handful of small soccer areas (that's the only thing I think they could be, since there are bleachers in the outfield area facing each other). If they ever get the funding to repair this park, here are 3 suggested solutions that I think they need to consider. First, build pathways within the park (it seems to be keeping the vandalism down at Haltom Road Park - which is mere blocks away). Second, move the playground area away from the creek (aka Hazardous Area). And finally, consider your areas needs. The Asian and Hispanic population is growing around this park, see what they would use it for. I don't know what else to say other then recommending that (for now) you find another park then this one (Rosebud, Broadway and Oakhurst Park are far better for kids).

There is a small communal area or "park" people may utilize for physical activity or overall mental and emotional health. This "neighborhood" is very unassuming and easily missed if one isn't already acquainted with Fort Worth history. Please read up on the story behind the neighborhood. It's actually quite interesting.
