TREASURES INSIDE!!! I bought approximately 18 books for like $35... who knew! While the space is small, there are treasures here that are unmatched in both price and selection. There are vintage as well as first editions available with each section marked appropriately. The staff was prompt and helpful to those in need while the back of the store seemed to be some type of workplace/committee. Overall, the go to place aside from the always overpriced Barnes & Noble esp. if you aren't looking for anything specific although, there were some more recent books available too. Large collection of Alaska books, neatly separated by topic (history, Aurora, outdoor sports, fishing, aviation, etc.) Bought some as trip souvenirs / for gift giving. Many other books on general topics. More manga than I expected. They also have t-shirts and tote bags for sale with the Literacy Council logo. Reasonably priced at $1, $3 and $5 per book. read more

This bookshop is absolutely adorable. Locally run, the proceeds go to the Literary Council of Alaska (fantastic cause!) Each book ranges from 50 cents to $7 (new books cost more); however, most books are between $2-$2.75. The used books are in pristine condition, each looks basically new. The staff and volunteers are so friendly and courteous. While this store is not the "biggest" store in the world, there is a wide selection of all types of genres for each and every person. They also have a punch card system where after you purchase ten books, you receive a $2.75 book for free! 100% recommend this store. read more
