She arrives totally prepared but also relaxed, with attention to detail and our time frame. Having her in my kitchen, she is personable and engaging and navigates with ease. From the wonderful aromas of asparagus puff pastry appetizers, to the final decadent cheesecake, we watched her seamlessly execute a multi-course memorable meal. Presentation was absolutely beautiful! We left for a show while Betsey continued doing her magic. We returned to the most pristine kitchen, like she didn't just make a 5-star dinner for our group of 10. If you are lucky enough to have Betsey cater a meal or event for you, then you are truly fortunate!

Ahead of time she sent options, and honestly I would have eaten ANY of them, they all sounded amazing. While there she was personable and talkative - super sweet and easy going. First course: Whipped brie crostini, honey, salsa matcha, almonds, lemon zest and flakey salt. These were heaven! Literally, I couldn't put enough in my mouth. The creamy whipped brie with the subtle spice of the salsa matcha, perfection. She had made a ton of these so we actually had leftovers for the next day! Second course: Arugula, pickled beets, citrus supremes, candied pecans, goat cheese, citrus balsamic dressing. This salad was so good! I am a huge fan of literally everything in this salad so I was so excited to see this on her menu! All the flavors so complimentary. Third course: Feta and herb panko crusted salmon, garlic lemon butter beans and artichokes, smoked pomodoro, pistachio gremolata (i had to google gremolata!) I am a HUGE fan of salmon and hers was cooked so well! Not overdone and or dry. The bean and artichokes were so decadent - I could have eaten a whole bowl of them. I literally saved my leftovers, because I couldn't eat the whole portion, and ate it for breakfast (I am dead serious!). Four course: Crème brulee, brown butter granola, macerated strawberries - the homemade granola was literally the best granola I have ever had! She made a ton so she left a large bag of it for us to munch on and it was eaten very quickly the next day! I am a creme brulee girl and this was so rich and creamy - one of the best I have ever had! Not only did she do a phenomenal job on all the food, she was super sweet and fun to talk to, AND she cleaned up literally THE whole kitchen! It was spotless. I would 100% recommend her for any small catering job and I would encourage you to check out her personal chef / meal prep, as well! I do not think you would be disappointed!

She was very helpful in choosing hors d'oeuvres. We had one small tray of food left which was scoffed down by our son and son in law who got up first with the children the next day. Shannon was very proactive. I didn't have to worry about a thing, and many guests had positive comments for Shannon and the food. She did a great job cleaning up. We were well satisfied with her preparations for the party and the quality of the food. She was very accomodating of people's food requests. We would certainly have Shannon again. We had exchanged several phone calls, menus and emails and agreed on a price. All was set. We asked to meet ten days before our wedding on a tuesday. She said she could not meet until thursday. If she had a better deal she could have called and just simply said I can not do it. Instead ,we were left to scramble to find someone to do it for us. Luckily we did find someone who was fantastic and did a much better job than she would have based on her menus etc.

West Bay Catering - same great food new name! (Formally: Nepalese Have Another)

Synopsis: Amazing food and rock bottom prices with great customer service…read more The essay: I haven't heard much about Nepalese cuisine, until I read The Kid Who Climbed Everest by Bear Grylls. Dal Bhat sounded interesting. Dal means lentils, Bhat means rice. The lentils are cooked with spices, tomatoes, onions, and chillies, given then great flavor and texture. The rice helps to soak up the flavors, and makes the meal more filling. They eat this a half dozen times per day when climbing the mountains. I started cooking this at home, and it's a staple meal in my household. I started to visit Nepalese restaurants wherever I go, and have had some amazing meals. Nepalese cuisine to me is a better version of lowland Indian cuisine, more veggies that are less cooked down, and the flavors are more subtle. I also love food trucks, and have visited food trucks in almost every state, and a few countries, seeking the best one. Amazingly, this food truck is both, my favorite food truck, and my favorite Nepalese restaurant. It's one of my favorite restaurants in general. If I lived here, I would likely eat here every single day. I watched as the owner peeled and cut up all of the fresh veggies, made all the sauces from scratch, and prepared my meal. I was impressed with the quality of the ingredients, the large serving size, and the great flavors and texture. My jaw dropped when I saw that it was $7. I paid $10 for half the meal at another food truck the day before.

Two of our guests had to jump in to help the two kids set up. The food was not brought in on trays, therefore the sliders had to be set up on the table. The cheese for the charcuterie boards had to be cut up by our guests as well. They had to pretty much do everything when they should have been enjoying our day. There was nothing to put the silverware in, so that to had to be rounded up. They were supposed to stay and replenish food and clean up. Since there wasn't even enough food to feed all our guest including the Bride and Groom, there wasn't anything to replenish with. Our bar tenders were amazing and stepped up to clean up what was this caterers responsibility. What should have been a beautiful flawless day that was planned out for months, this catering company dropped the ball and caused stress, cost us more money to buy more food from local businesses and was an embarrassment to us. I don't know how ANYONE could do this to someone, especially on their special day. Apparently he took on another wedding that day and didn't bother to answer any calls, texts or emails when he was an apparent no show. I felt bad for the two kids he sent into a horrible situation. They acted like they had no idea what to do or how to handle a very uncomfortable situation. Steve Peltier, you should be ashamed of yourself! You haven't even had enough decency to contact us to apologize or explain yourself, which there really isn't an excuse! I hope this review keeps anyone looking for a caterer for their special day from making the same mistake we did in trusting in you. We should have known when you wouldn't return calls or emails for very long periods of time and would not let us have any tastings.
