Was excited to see seeded watermelons and seeded grapes! We also grabbed some jelly's and apple butter. The Apple Butter took me back to Sunday mornings breakfast at Grandmas. The bakery side had a variety of yummy treats from doughnuts, pies, cookies and cakes. Definitely grabbed a few for later. The Apple Pie ice cream my hunnie ordered was delicious. Tasted just like Apple Pie. Looking forward to our next adventure here already.

The woman who checked us out was an absolute delight, warm, funny, and exactly what you hope for at a local farm stand. Unfortunately my experience in the herb section was the opposite. When I asked about strawberry plants and was told they didn't have any, I mentioned I was a first time gardener and asked if she could recommend something beginner friendly. Her response was essentially "just pick something, all you have to do is water them." When I explained again that I was new and looking for guidance, she told me she couldn't help me. As a first time gardener trying to learn, that kind of dismissiveness was discouraging. If it weren't for the lovely woman at checkout, I likely wouldn't return. I ended up going to Ed's Plant World in Brandywine where the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful to a beginner. The difference was night and day. That said, I'm giving 4 stars because the place is really awesome in terms of selection and variety. The woman in the herb section may have just been having a bad day. It's absolutely worth checking out.

While the market is on the small side, they maximize space and have quite a few vendors and plenty of parking. Despite being able to conduct a rather brisk walkthrough of the market, I was also able to pick up several items along the way before I headed to another market. Overall, if you're in the area this market is worth a visit. It's also worth considering if you're not in the area but keeping in mind that it's small would be prudent.

Pretty respectable-sized establishment! There were a lot of vendors selling things that were not food/produce. I think I saw more people selling soaps, creams, and body butter than any other product. Great selection to choose from if that's what you're looking for. I ended up having a nice chat with one of the guys who had a nice variety of soaps both scented and unscented. Several vendors were selling potted plants. I imagine the produce stands are more represented in the peak of summer and fall. There were a few when we went (early May) selling some cabbages and other leafy greens as well as some apples and root veggies. At the one end of the parking lot were several trucks hawking food and drinks. I had been told to look for a donut truck, but none to be found the day we went. There was one selling coffees, another selling cold-pressed juices, and another selling pizzas. Bonus: there is a port-a-potty available to all. I've been to bigger markets without one and I think it's brilliant that one is available.

It's set up like an indoor Farmer's Market, so prepare to pay for each area separately. The actual venue isn't anything special- you can tell the floors are old. At the front of the Market there's a stuffed pretzel section, however they only take cash for this area. Everywhere else I went they accepted credit cards. Looking forward to going back and trying the stuffed pretzels. I also noticed they had a sign for unlimited pancakes on certain days. I would be interested in trying those for sure based on the quality of food I got. The bakery items and meats I bought were thorough.

You grab a ticket to place your order, and things move quickly. Keep in mind there are extra charges for bags and card use. Cash is recommended, though cards are accepted at most stations (except the pretzel and ice cream lines). There is an ATM on-site. Note: The market is only open Thursday-Saturday, so plan ahead!

Zekiah Farms is always a good experience with a variety of items to splurge on…read more I have been to Zekiah Farms on random, quiet weekends as well as when they have events. Either time the farm has a friendly team who will go out of their way to greet you and help. It has consistently been a great experience and there's always treasures to purchase. I recommend a visit to Zekiah Farms on days they are having and are not having an event. Both are great and don't forget to take a good look in the meat coolers to see what good stuff you can take with you. My haul included sweets, honey, and meats. This time.

Today is feb 28 and this was my first time here with a friend. I had a pleasant conversation with the organizer of the market and he admitted that the market has many more vendors including produce options come April. In the mean time, I remembered seeing for sale souvenirs from Peru, olive oil, sourdough bread, meats and more. Will have to return in April to get the full experience!

This market is a bit on the small side because we saw about six vendors during our visit. However, we stopped by while the vendors were setting up so maybe more vendors arrived once we left. The major vendors that I remember were those selling produce, mushrooms, and empanadas. I noticed the empanada stand because I was extremely hungry. Oh there was some live music courtesy of a singing duo. Since this a smaller farmers market, compared to the others that I have visited in part, you definitely can get in and out very quickly.
