Brought my child for an appointment after over a week of coughing, headache, and now sore throat,…read moreincluding yellow/green mucus. Dr. Haukness did not covid, strep, or flu test. Just sent us on our way and told us to check in in 5 more days if things hadn't gotten better. Told my child that her symptoms did not fit any of those. A wasted appointment, more missed days of school, and now an additional trip to an Urgent Care that WILL test as needed. After calling the office, I was told "That doctor does not generally test" and "Each doctor has their own way of doing things." Dr. Haukness is not our usual doctor there and we would never have gone to see her had we known in advance there was such a difference in care (which diverges from what most doctors do / recommend). Insult to injury: I'm sure we'll still be charged for this worthless visit.

I am so grateful for this practice. We moved to Oak Park in 2022. We were lucky to get one of our…read morethree daughters in because most of the practices in the area are full. I think we called at the right time. Our main provider, Dr. Turk, is awesome. She takes as much time as is needed, she is extremely caring and seems to understand our concerns perfectly. We love their setup regarding sick visits and urgent/non-urgent call system. Our youngest daughter is only six weeks old at the time of writing this review. Overall, she is healthy, but she did catch a virus and ended up hospitalized one night when she was four weeks old. We brought her in for a sick visit when the symptoms were minor and first presenting. I was so impressed that Dr. Turk called the very next day, after the visit, to check on our daughter's progress. The first symptoms were relatively minor (still scary in that young of a baby). Unfortunately, they worsened. However, the practice was so accommodating and took the initiative to continue contacting us once they were aware of the problem. Dr. Wegner saw us for the second sick visit and correctly advised us to bring her to Northwestern, where she was inpatient for a night. The practice was then very proactive in continuing to follow up with contacting us upon discharge to check in with how our baby was doing. I was extremely impressed and grateful for the care this practice provided, and continues to provide, to our family.

I've been told on three separate visits now to 'switch to cows milk.' I have no intention of 'switching' my baby until he's ready. I was told the last time, at the 1 yr visit,to take him off the formula.( Um, my son isn't on formula, but whatever...and we have talked about breastfeeding every other visit) I like the dr. I really do, better than most, and I'm hesitant to write this review bc I want to continue to receive good care. I understand it's busy, especially at back to school time, but often I feel like I'm not really being listened to sometimes and just being read a script. So, if you want a traditional point of view, and a by the book opinion, you'll like this dr. If you're going to do things a little more natural, you might leave ignoring some of the advice, Iike we do.

He is exactly what you'd want in a pediatrician: super smart, attentive, kind, available, and always patient and respectful of the kids. He has answered our late night calls, had told us when to get extra attention, and has also told us when things aren't as serious as I was worried they'd be. Three of my sons have some underlying issues and are seen by a nationally known specialist out of state, and we have always appreciated how easily Dr. Mercola interacts with that doctor. There is always coordinated care. The staff could not be nicer, and we have never had to wait long for an appointment. We've also always been able to schedule same day appointments when needed. We grateful for that! Parenting is hard. De. Mercola makes the medical part of it much, CMU easier.

Dr. Al-Kadari has been professional and a caring surgeon treating my mother's necrotizing fasciitis…read morethroat abscess. She is almost fully recovered from her surgery the first week of October 2021 and Dr. Al-Kadari informed us he expects my mother to be back to 100% by Thanksgiving or Christmas 2021. This was only my second time meeting with Al-Kadari even though he was the main surgeon on my mother's case and she spent 3+ weeks in the hospital at Rush Medical Center. Since her hospital discharge October 20th, we have had three post-op visits with his associate, Ashley Knies. Ashley appeared nervous, insecure, and all around lacking intelligence. Our first visit with her she did nothing besides prescribe more opiates. Our second visit she remover the bandage but did not feel comfortable replacing my mother's wound vac stating she did not have proper supplies or bandages. Luckily, our home healthcare nurse, Sarah helped me pack/prepare the wound vac for the post-op visit, in addition to extra bandages. I tried to hand the bag with the wound vac to Ashley but she shook her head nervously so instead I handed a bandage to Ashley who emphasized, "I wish we had these, our bandages are not near as good as these." After our visit, I reviewed the appointment notes in "MyChart" and was shocked to see Ashley wrote we failed to bring my mother's wound vac to the appointment, which is an outright lie! Moreover, let's pretend we had not brought the wound vac or bandages, why are these supplies not at the hospital? Are they truly lacking necessary medical supplies or is it simply Ashley's incompetence placing blame elsewhere?

She agreed but I had to take a urine test. I received the results back the next day and the RX I use could not be found. She said that happens but I had to take it again. No problem. That was well over a week ago and my professional life is suffering. She insist the govt "audits" her for these test. This is BS. They think I'm a junky (even though I don't do any drugs and am randomly get tested by the company I work for). There are a few great docs there (Fair, Chan and the NGP) but I'm not a happy camper. Good luck out there my friends!
