A great place to get pictures framed. They really take the time to explore the various options that will make the work show at its best. Lots of interesting things to look at. Makes me wish I were more artistic. One of my favorite things to get framed are restaurant menus from places where I had memorable meals. It is a relatively inexpensive way to decorate a dining room or kitchen with unique items that have personal meaning. They also make great gifts. read more

Forstall Art Center has amazing customer service. Phillip Forstall spent a lot of time helping me pick out the perfect frame for a piece of art I purchased. He is incredibly knowledgable and definitely tried to save me money on my purchase. When it was done, it was perfect. I stopped in to the downtown location and found so many pretty and unique art supplies despite being a smaller store edit than some bigger art supply stores like sam flax and utrecht. it has the charm of a mom and pop store. the customer service was fine- not memorable but not unpleasant. the lady at the store was helpful when i had questions which was all i really needed. definitely recommend! read more

Finally had a chance to stop by this place to see what was inside and the experience was very sub-par to say the least. Being that little if any people were in the store, finally after passing 3 people a woman named Annette asked if I needed anything and I made her aware that I was glad someone finally recognized my presence in this store. She seemed to be more on the defensive as to my statement of feedback from store personnel interaction. The interesting thing is that she seemed to be more concerned with what minute task she had in front of her rather than gaining a client in myself from my potential patronage. I then proceeded to let her know that I had never been to the store but had passed by on several occasions esp. during the recent cultural arts festival Birmingham had downtown that was in the area of their store. I am very much so into cultural things as well as new cultural experiences. The worst element of my visit to the store is that I asked if she mind giving me a short store tour since she was the one who originally engaged me. Her response was quite rude, "It is not that hard to figure out, It's not rocket science." At this point I'm thinking how dare you address me in this manner so I proceeded to leave this Godforsaken establishment. Today's economy is no place for that kind of entity demeanor or customer interaction. All one can say is, "Caveat Emptor" when dealing with the staff of this place. read more
