This is a quirky little store that is worth stopping at to see old tools and old relics. The guy who owns it is nice too.

We were out riding motorcycles, and stumbled upon this place. From the outside, it was hard to tell whether it was currently open or if it was just an old overgrown place. But it did have a sign on the door so we went in. Definitely sensory overload. There was a lot of stuff in there that I remember seeing in my childhood. It is a very big mix of junk, collectibles and upright trash in the back barn. Even a boat in the woods near the outhouse. I think it is worth a stop if you are out that way. Mostly just for shock value. If you do stop, be careful when leaving. It is right off of a blind hill and curves. I took a lot of photos. But honestly, nothing has changed from the photos that others have taken and posted over the years. Probably items are sitting in the exact same places. read more

I'm 70 years old now, the first time I went in here was when I was 17 and it's still there. I remember buying a army two way radio for 12 dollars. They use to sell colored glass which my mom would put in on the window sill so the sun would hit it and make it sparkle. I go up there every once in a while but sometimes their hours aren't rigid. I might go up there next week if I can find out if they are open. read more

This is the most wonderful place in the world. It's a perfect mix of rotted out disgusting junk (like the stuffed fox that has been steadily decaying for the past 12 years that I've been going there, and the dusty old lady hats that make me want to run away) and an endless cache of curiosities . I make trips there, especially in the Fall, just to take pictures. This is a true rarity, in part, because it's dangerous. The place feels like it's going to collapse around you if you breath too heavy. And you just might, because the air is filled with ancient musty spores. The place is run by a father and son who live across the winding country road. I've often found the door locked, only to turn around and see the old man riding full tilt across the street on his rusted out beach cruiser. These guys are knowledgeable, and somewhat strange. They're amateur Civil War historians, if that tells you anything. And they don't seem to get out much. The entranceway is hung with old iron farm implements. It looks like a torture chamber, and for all I know, it might be. The counter is filled with trilobites and other fossils, old knives, buttons, marbles, rocks, and candy. I don't think it's a good idea to eat the candy. Behind the counter is a rotating stock of old guitars, banjos, and mandolins. The narrow walkway leads you into a bigger room full of glass cases, the walls stacked with boxes and shelves full of a billion interesting things. Three other scary rooms branch from that. Three stars because there is a lot of nice stuff, mixed with the junk, but the owner will not work with you on the prices. I think he likes his stuff just a little too much, but that's just my opinion. read more

This place is a wonderful place to go to. If you get the opportunity check this place out. Just remember to bring a nickel so you can check out the vintage peep show. Absolutely fabulous. It is run by a father & son who live right across the street. When you go in you can see them strumming one of the instruments behind them. Rather it be a banjo, guitar, etc. The son is very passionate about Civil War and military antiques. They do have some Reproduction but not many. They have a lot of vintage Life magazines prices ranges from $10 - $20. If you are looking for vintage clothes I wouldn't suggest it. Unless you are looking for vintage military uniforms. There is wonderful out buildings as well. Oh the out buildings I could on and on about those buildings. I went there on March 13 and they had not just one but 2 vintage doctor bags. Yes you might have to dig but there are so many treasures at this place. If you are a book worm there is definitely a place for you here. This place is incredible one of the best antique shops I've ever been to. I'm an antiquarian and that sounds so many wonderful Treasures here. This place has been owned by the same family for Generations and it started out as an old church but was converted to a home and now an antique shop. Way to go and keep up the good work!!! read more

You need to experience this place. It's like nothing you've ever seen... Maybe in a movie. I love this place. There are rooms and rooms with the most eclectic selections I've ever seen. And there are more things out back in the barns. Go see this and you'll be telling friends about it for weeks. I guarantee that you'll like it. Don't expect fancy. It's raw, but great. Yes, I know John and Bill (father and son), but it won't color my review. I sold them some advertising over ten years ago they retain to this day, in The American Antiquities Journal. It may be the only regional advertising they do; I never ask them about that. When I first got to know them, well, they're a little spooky (see Kris H review) but completely harmless and on many levels a ton of fun. John particularly has some kind of telepathy in him, no fooling. Their place is an old church (mid-19th century but perhaps 20 or 30 years earlier, from the dates on the headstones (!) in the adjacent cemetery). I've sold them a few things but bought many more. What they have is a bunch of weird and neat stuff. My best find was three old Edison wax cylinders in literal mint condition for two dollars apiece. I played each of them (once) and was really impressed. They're generalists in the trade. Both are deeply religious but not pushy or in any way offensive about their faith. John doesn't know the name of any streets anywhere, but annually travels to northern Michigan in the summer and knows every turn (remember the telepathy?). I've personally visited thousands of shops selling old junk, and Kris left out only one adjective: UNIQUE. No one would ever forget a visit there. Yes, plenty of times I go in and no one is there, and within seconds John or Bill rides up on a 60s era bicycle, balloon tires and all. My son worked at Camp Kern (directly across SR 350) so I've had many visits and I like to think we're friends. John and Bill might not feel the same way, since they do live in their own private Idaho. THIS PLACE IS WORTH CHECKING OUT. read more
