Thank you for being so good at what you do and always taking the time and making sure your customers are well taken care of! I had originally ordered a class ring from the company affiliated with the college and was so utterly disappointed at what I got for the price point. At…read moreleast, I love those that are the comfy ones, like loafers and moccasins, which is what I brought in, with the honest reality on both our parts that possibly nothing could be done for some, and maybe something for the others. Worth a try. Shoes carry meaning and our weight, protect us, serve us... they are personal reminders of where we've been...and then we throw them out. Really... I hesitate before passing them on, either to recycling or the waste bin. We are so fortunate to live in the day of less expensive shoes, and the internet where you can buy almost anything. I love my shoes. Did I mention that I love my shoes? So... I go to pick up my repaired shoes, and he did a stellar job on the 2 out of 3 pairs... the others, he even told me... he'd try... but 'they had lived their time' he said. He thought all of them had. I was elated to have my comfy wonderful loafer/moccasins back, and they're great! I asked how much I owed him, and he said, "Nothing. 'Cause I can't guarantee they'll stay. They've lived their time." My gosh, people, I felt bad to have wasted his time with any of them, and even when I insisted on paying, he said no and turned to another client. I don't expect to have something for free, really, ever. What a blessing. This person is one of the very few who are left on the planet repairing shoes. The least thing I felt I could do for him, is bring him in some sort of other shoes where he will charge me, and write this review claiming him to sainthood.

I wanted to send gifts back to Belgrade for my AFS (American Field Service) sister's children. I told him what I wanted in the way of color and and price and he helped me pick out one carnelian and one coral heart pendants and changed out the leather necklaces to match the pieces. They were beautiful. And yesterday, I took in a James Avery pendant (a gift from friends) and asked if he could help me with a pair of earrings. It took him just a second to show me a beautiful pair of garnet and silver earrings which looked as if they were part of the set. They were $35.00! If I had gone to James Avery to buy the earrings that exactly matched my new pendant, they would have cost me $400.00. Great custom jewelry at great prices; these really are piece of art.

In August of 2017 we dropped off a Waldemar Disc to be made into a camp ring. This would be the…read morethird custom ring he had made for us. In September of 2018 I had my sister stop in to "check on progress." At this point he started moving and quoted me $1650 and a mid Nov delivery. At the end of November, he told me he had a "snag" and the mold for the top of the ring would not work as the new discs are thicker than the previous two. He said he needed another week. In this email he also CONFIRMED the price at $1650 after discussing the additional work. December 24th we receive it for Christmas and the ring looks rushed. It is not round. I also receive an invoice for $2024. We go back and forth a few times discussing the unannounced price increase. He agrees to the original price and asks me to send the ring back for repair. I send the ring back, and when my 13 year old opens to the box to see her new ring, she is met with a replacement disc from Waldemar and a note stating he will no longer do business with us. I am having the ring made locally, but my daughter is crushed, she lost her original disc as he kept it, he wasted 17 months of our time and changed the price after confirming it twice (once AFTER he acknowledged he would have to hand make the top). This is not the business it used to be. Arrogance, extreme delays, poor quality of work and bait and switch are what we have seen. Yes there are two sides to every story and I would be happy to share all emails, invoices, and correspondence. Facts speak for themselves.

UPDATE: The sudden spate of new 5-star reviews all dated May 25 or after is the result of a…read morerequest by Becky from TCB's Facebook to its followers on May 25, as a campaign to counteract my original review. Mine was its first and until now, its only one. (Where were these reviewers all this time before or since last December?) Rather than address the review itself directly, TCB asked its FB followers for reviews just for this purpose. This transaction happened back in Oct/Nov 2014. Becky now claims it was "mostly a personality issue". Why would it be?-- A bag was ordered online with a small customization request which she agreed to do. I won't rehash all the details here--she did not take well to my pointing out the error, would not redo it and indicated she no longer wanted my business and would only issue a refund. Because her rude and irrational reaction left me puzzled (see original review below), I thought maybe she had mine mixed up with another transaction. I called Becky and politely asked if she would redo the bag, instead of return/refunding, and she just snapped at me, insisting it was done correctly and that a refund would conclude our business. My review was not my "opinion"; it is a factual detailed account of the transaction (I believe I still have the email exchanges and bag photos). The measure of a business is also in its reaction to correcting mistakes (and any can make one), so the review is a fair portrayal. If rudeness or shifting blame to the customer as a "personality issue" is considered customer service or hospitality there, then no thanks.
