Right off North 1st Street lies Dr. Seuss Park, with six Dr. Seuss statues of some of his most popular characters. The statues include Horton from Horton Hears a Who!, Sam-I-Am from Green Eggs and Ham, Yertle the Turtle, the Grinch, the Lorax, and of course, the Cat in the Hat. These Dr. Seuss sculptures were all installed between 2012 and 2013, and they're all well maintained. I really like how Sam-I-Am's green eggs and ham are oxidized to make them green. It's an amazing touch. The park is very serene, especially with the fountain in the middle. I do wish there were a few more floral aspects, but the level of greenery really helps give the place the love it deserves. Restrooms and showers were clean each time I used them. The cliffside views are amazing at sunset, and the park felt calm at night. Staff was friendly and quick to help when I asked a question at check-in. Wi-Fi worked fine for email and streaming. Good walking space and plenty of shade in parts of the park. I'd happily stay here again and recommend it to friends who want a relaxing spot with a legit spring pool. Five stars.

The shaded areas and open spaces make it a great place to unwind and enjoy the outdoors. Traveling in our Class A motorhome with our Jeep in tow, we found it to be a convenient stop. The sites were accessible and setup was easy, making it a comfortable stay for a larger rig. Overall, a great park and one we would definitely visit again.

Well, that doesn't appear to be the case in this little, sleepy, Texas town. It is Sunday, so not a surprise that the library is closed, but the park is open and well maintained. I'm a bit surprised that no one is here enjoying a great picnic gem like this...could be because it is "HOT"...it's 100 outside... There is a little area with swings and stuff for the little kids...and a few big kids...I like swings. I got to enjoy this place all to my self...!!!

It has a play set for children and nice covered pavilions for gatherings. The one we were at has a triple charcoal grill. Top Notch! I would recommend this as a family outing, reunion or just a great time! It's not crowded at all on this Thursday afternoon. We have the whole place to ourselves! This would also be a cool charity event. There is lots of bottles and various other trash at the waters edge that could be picked up in an afternoon with a few dedicated folks. That didn't detract from the scenic beauty and tranquility of the location. Highly Recommended!
