Randall Moving & Storage is awesome. Have used their storage service. And if you want great movers…read more- on time/on budget, highly professional ask for Clarence and his crew. They have moved me twice now. 1st-rate.

So because she wouldn't honor her word on paying for making sure all items were in their proper…read moreplace and she wants to keep blaming me for not knowing how many people it should have taken for the move . I would give this company a 0/10! She is really a disrespectful individual that won't take accountability for her mistakes! How you think a customer feels when you keep trying to bring up what a customer should have know as if I was the moving expert. I hired you to do a job and you failed! Don't give this business your time or money because Susan will try and gaslight you and make a 2-3 day move all one day so she can get as much money from you. Then if something goes wrong it's your fault for not telling her something when you gave her all the information she needed. But she didn't do her job so it's your fault! I didn't even bring up all the scratches, dents, dings all on my walls and stairs her crew made! I had thought I was going to be able to up the stars after she reached out, but I can't as she seems to forget she the one that botched this job! Now I have to go in my pocket to pay someone to complete the job she PROMISED! Horrible business owner!! Update**To the owner..there wasn't a "crew" it was one person who came out to do half the job back in February which took all day as it was on Valentine's Day and weekend. As I stated I needed to start moving in my new place and wanted to make sure I went through as much as possible totes/boxes I could so I separated what needed to stay and what needed to go back to VA. And I contacted the person (Steve) who helped me out (not you) during this time so we could see when it would be a good time for both of us. As we all have lives and not just around fanning ourselves apparently what you do all day. So yeah I still have several empty totes that needed to be taken back to VA. So stop with your arrogance as if I'm trying to get over on you. I'm a veteran so I paid my dues and worked for everything I ever had! And I showed you my entire house as you said on FaceTime I had a lot. I have it recorded so stop your madness. Take accountability that you messed this entire move up and wasted everyone's time! It's done and over with so no need to reply anymore I'm done with it. And I don't accept your apology.

(0 Stars if I Could) - Predatory Pricing & Deceptive Practices at Self Storage Plus - One Loudoun…read more I rented a unit at Self Storage Plus - One Loudoun under what I believed were fair and transparent terms: $104/month, clearly outlined in the signed rental agreement. I even paid upfront and followed every condition asked of me. But to my absolute shock and frustration, within barely one month, they increased my rent to $200/month--a 92.3% increase from my original rate. Let that sink in: nearly double the agreed-upon rent with no meaningful justification other than corporate greed and opportunism. And while they'll try to hide behind the fine print ("we reserve the right to change rent with 30 days' notice"), this is a textbook example of predatory business tactics designed to lure customers in with low rates, only to trap them with exorbitant price hikes once their belongings are already stored and moving becomes difficult or impossible. What They Did Might Be Legal - But It's Absolutely Unethical Yes, they can argue that they legally gave notice under Clause 20 of their agreement, which allows them to modify rent with a 30-day notice. But just because something is technically legal doesn't make it morally right, especially when: * They intentionally undercut other competitors to get you in the door. * They wait until your items are stored--fully knowing the hassle and cost of moving out. * They then blindside you with a nearly 100% increase, essentially holding your property hostage. This is a predatory pricing model that exploits the inertia and inconvenience that storage customers face. It's manipulative, calculated, and it erodes trust in an industry that already walks a fine ethical line. This Practice Has Sparked Legal Scrutiny Elsewhere This isn't an isolated tactic. In recent years, similar bait-and-switch rent increases have been: * Challenged in small claims courts across the U.S. * Flagged by consumer watchdogs for deceptive business practices. * Subject to class-action lawsuits, including actions involving national chains like Public Storage and Extra Space Storage for the same abusive behavior. This trend is why states like California and New York have begun proposing legislation to cap or regulate rent increases in the self-storage industry, especially for tenants under auto-renewal leases. A Cautionary Warning to Potential Customers To anyone reading this: avoid Self Storage Plus at all costs--especially the One Loudoun location. Their business model is engineered to: * Bait you with a reasonable initial price, * Trap you once you've committed, * And gouge you with an outrageous price increase when you're most vulnerable. You will receive little empathy, no flexibility, and certainly no apology--just a cold invocation of contract language that lets them do it. Bottom Line: Rent Elsewhere If I could give this company zero stars, I would. A 92% rent hike in 30 days is nothing short of corporate exploitation. This is not just poor customer service--it is a deliberate and strategic abuse of consumer trust.

Hidden charges! When I reserved a 16' truck, I was told there would be a $150 deposit, and, that…read morethe deposit would be refunded at the end when I paid for rental & mileage. I was moving my storage locker to a different location because storage rent had gone up so high. I just needed a truck for 24 hours. I did the math on how many miles I'd need to pay for, and figured I'd need $180, plus some gas money to refill the tank, and some taxes, fees, etc. $240 should have been more than enough! Next, I signed a new lease for my new storage location, and cancelled the lease for the place that still held my belongings. (Now, I HAVE TO MOVE TODAY!). So, I get to the Home Depot. I went to the PRO DESK, who used to handle Penske rentals, but I'm told that I have to go to the RETURNS DESK. There's a big difference in service. The returns desk is fine if I'm renting a carpet cleaner, but truck rental is alot different, and, it helps to have someone, well... PRO doing it. After waiting in the returns line, I started the rental process, and was told that I needed to pay the $150. deposit, AND the estimated cost of rental & mileage. They wanted me to pay about $287. , which was not what I was quoted. I finally was able to give them $215. down payment. On dropping off the truck, I was given a piece of paper stating that I would be receiving $43.87 refund on my deposit. I was told that the deposit would take 3-5 days to hit my account. INSTEAD OF A REFUND, Home Depot kept trying to charge me an extra $65+. Over and over. It charged, then reversed charges four times overnight, which may cost me 4× $35. in insufficient funds charges!!! When I calledPenske, they were closed for the holiday. I called the lady at Home Depot, who said that it was charging me for the extra miles I drove & that I still would get my deposit back LATER in 3-5 days. I was never told that I had to pay the full rental & mileage PLUS deposit at the beginning. And, since they had more than enough deposit, they definitely shouldn't be charging me more money, while sitting on my deposit. THIS NEVER WOULD HAVE HAPPENED IF THE MORE HIGHLY TRAINED PEOPLE AT THE PRO DESK HAD HANDLED THIS FROM THE START! Now, I'm just waiting to see what happens to my bank account after all of the UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES bounced around my account last night. If I had an "extra" $200, it wouldn't have gone so wrong, but WHAT I WAS QUOTED, SHOULD HAVE BEEN WHAT I WAS CHARGED!!! P.s. The truck was fine. Not perfect, but fine. It was alot of hard work, but I managed to move myself from a 10×10 storage locker for $180/mo into a 10×20 locker farther away for $140/mo PLUS one month free, which SHOULD have covered the truck fees.
