That's fine but most of the time they leave the doors open and my dog is the first one to want out then I'm chasing after him. Overall it's really just a fenced in little spot, the doors could honestly be a lot safer and larger. The people who visit with their dogs are friendly enough. The area is also pretty close to the street so it's just something to be aware of. I think there's a lot of safer parks out there to bring your pups even if it's a drive away. It's flat with everything centered around the pond. There are trees for shade, plus plenty of sun. It's always been a great time here. Take a couple loops around the pond, sit, relax, you'll go home refreshed. There's a small walkout deck that could be ideal for fishing. I've seen sunnies, but imagine other fish dwell here too. Joggers, walkers, dog walkers, thinkers...many come here and take it all in, yet it never feels crowded. Enjoy and...just watch out for the patches of poison ivy!

The walking path was good to follow along and it was peaceful for all visitors. We watched as several people were fishing by Cooper's pond. Looked like a great activity to do together or solo. Plenty of great water views at different angles. Bike paths were used along the nature paths too. For a short trip out in nature, this was a beautiful place to go. The large pen is mostly pebbles, which I'm not a huge fan of, and the smaller pen is mostly grass and dirt. There's no official big dog / small dog distinction, though it could be used that way. The fountain hasn't worked since I've been there, so bring some water for your dog. Overall, it's quite nice. The view by the water is pretty, and you can take your dog for a walk on the boardwalk after the park. Drawbacks are that it's often empty and not everyone seems to pick up after their dogs.

The trail is paved and next to the stream, parallel with Paramus Ave. It goes through Glen Rock, Paramus, Fair Lawn and Rochelle Park. It splits in a few areas and there's a few different entry points and parks along the way. The path could be busy. I think most the walkers are annoyed at the bike riders for passing them by quickly, but the riders are annoyed at the walkers for taking up space and not staying to the right. In the map, you can see where the trails splits and can take the alternate path. It was great for a bike ride, except I walked it in a few areas and hopefully I don't get poison ivy. There were baseball fields, basketball courts, pavilions and an abandoned tennis court. There was a waterfall, a lookout tower and a building from the 1800's. The underpasses/bridges were nicely boarded and the trail is very clean. This park is very basic. There was nothing extraordinary about it. I think if your in the area and it's convenient to walk or ride through, it's nice, but it's not worth going out of your way.

Imagine a dog park covered entirely in fish tank gravel, with such soft footing that neither dog…read morenor human can walk comfortably, let alone run. This is easily the worst dog park in Passaic County, entirely due to the ground surface. Who came up with this idea? It's a nice park. It's conveniently located. It has tremendous potential! There are nice facilities, umbrellas for sun shelter, a doggie water fountain, etc. But the dogs just cannot run around comfortably on gravel. This is just parks planning gone wrong, likely conceived by someone who doesn't have dogs.

*Playground review!*…read more This one is a good one, y'all. It's definitely on the newer side and is a decent size for a bunch of kids to run & play. The brightly colored slides, tunnels, swings can be seen from Black Oak Ridge Rd. so it's hard to avoid when cruising the nighborhood -- I speak from experience! :-P There's a couple different structures -- one for smaller kids (1-3yo, I think) and one for older/bigger kids. My son has a blast climbing up the tunnels and down the slides every time we visit this playground. Note: the parking lot is a good size... but fills up quickly as it shares the lot w/ the dog park... and there's really no street parking along the park as it's a pretty active intersection.
