We paid full amount of that spot. We later got a knock on the door from an Asian lady yelling at us that we were in the wrong spot. I showed her the map and that we were directed to the place we were in. When she left I got a call from the girl who messed up and told me I was being difficult for not wanting to move. This place has the worst customer service ever. Please don't blame the customer for your mistake.

They offer ear plugs at check in, but we just left our overhead fan running all night to drown out the sound. All the utilities worked fine, and since this is typically for short stays, the park fills up nightly. They have a little store in the office as well as they have a cafe for breakfast and then delivery service for dinner (to your site). We did breakfast sandwiches one morning while we were headed out to Graceland so that was convenient but did not do any of the dinner offerings. The staff keeps the place clean- they picked up our trash within minutes when we placed it at the end of our site each morning. They have tent areas as well as cabin rentals too- plus a 'camper kitchen' if you don't have a trailer or motor home. Laundry was $3 load for wash and $3 load for dry and everything worked fine. FYI: The highway exits are wonky here (very short and you cross the road (oncoming traffic yields) so that was a little stressful while driving with a tow car.

The geniuses who developed the place RIGHT BESIDE the interstate offer free earplugs for guests as a gesture to discourage them from writing bad reviews about the noise. At least this KOA has level, gravel sites, and you don't have to get on top of your RV to clear overhanging branches in order to prevent damage to your roof or insect intrusion, which is the case at over 85% of KOAs I have stayed at. The coup de grace here is that the power is inadequate to support RV air conditioners. The campground power would drop from an initial unacceptable level of 115 volts or so to less than 110 volts within minutes of starting the AC, resulting in a trip of the circuit breaker - over and over again. It wasn't just me. Many of the guests on our tour experienced the same problem, which disappeared after we left the place. Amazingly, when the temperature drops and the demand mitigates, you see stable voltages of 120 or more, and you can run 70+ amp loads without diminishing the voltage one iota. Multiple members of our group were experiencing the same problem. Some resorted to on-board generators on their motorhomes to be sure their dog would not die during the day in an overheated coach with no AC. My advice is that if it is hot and you need to be sure you are going to have reliable power, plan to run a generator or find somewhere else to stay. Itis no surprise that this place has a 3-star Yelp rating out of 5. The fascinating thing is that the rating is as high as it is.

I have always lived near ReelFoot lake and I grew up going there on special occasions. I had never…read morebeen on the boat tours until recently however. I had the opportunity on my day off from work to come visit this park in all of its beauty. My first boat outing was with their seasonal ranger Jewell West, she was very knowledgeable and personable! She was definitely passionate about the eagles, the park, our beautiful state, and the preservation of our state's natural wonders. On our outing we saw nearly 16 eagles, plenty of osprey, and many other native species. It was a very enjoyable way to spend the morning, and a very beautiful and relaxing ride! That afternoon I came back for the history of the lake boat ride, it was shorter than the eagle spotting venture, but was also with seasonal ranger West. She painted a unique picture about the geological origins of the lake and its troubled past. It was very interesting, and I really enjoyed hearing about it while actively seeing it in person. The facilities at the state park are brand new and they are amazing. They have very enriching and hands on ways to experience this park's history and biological elements. Many of their facilities are brand new due to increased funding and repairs after a tornado a few years ago. The flora and fauna of the lake are immensely beautiful. This place is most definitely a hidden gem for west Tennessee! I look forward to coming back this July for the 250th anniversary of the USA celebration.

My wife and I stopped into their visitor center for a visit, being one of the few visitors on a Tuesday afternoon. It consists of two buildings: one is a museum/souvenir shop and the other had small acquariums, filled with snakes and fish. Outside, there were two sets of avian cages where a pair of bald eagles were kept in one, and the other had hawks.

There were so many things for our grandkids to do-pool, awesome water slides, bounce pad, pedal bikes along with Dailey activities-such as hayrides, crafts, and so much more But the best was the staff. Each employee went out of their way to assist us. Mr. Tom, Ryan, and Brayden, we're so nice to all the kids. The ladies and all office staff were super. The bathroom was updated with more modern equipment. The kitchen of course is small, but still great for preparing a meal. We enjoyed the charcoal grill and the Adirondack rocking chairs. The trails are nice. The lake is quite charming. The only downside is the amount of goose poop near the beach area and leading to the walkway across the water. It would be great to put some sort of goose deterrent or power wash the sidewalks on a regular basis in order to fix this issue. The check in process was quick and easy and the rangers were helpful. It is nice being off the grid. The Wi-Fi is very weak in the cabins, but we actually appreciated that because technology shouldn't be the focus of your weekend away from home.
