This park is about 20 minutes from downtown Memphis- so it's a decent spot for exploring town. It's a 'journey' so it's right off the highway. They offer ear plugs at check in, but we just left our overhead fan running all night to drown out the sound. All the utilities worked fine, and since this is typically for short stays, the park fills up nightly. They have a little store in the office as well as they have a cafe for breakfast and then delivery service for dinner (to your site). We did breakfast sandwiches one morning while we were headed out to Graceland so that was convenient but did not do any of the dinner offerings. The staff keeps the place clean- they picked up our trash within minutes when we placed it at the end of our site each morning. They have tent areas as well as cabin rentals too- plus a 'camper kitchen' if you don't have a trailer or motor home. Laundry was $3 load for wash and $3 load for dry and everything worked fine. FYI: The highway exits are wonky here (very short and you cross the road (oncoming traffic yields) so that was a little stressful while driving with a tow car. read more

Stay away from this KOA!! They're scamming you travelers with bogus "we're full" comments when you arrive and tell you, only the high end sites are available. It happened to us, and when I commented that the place was practically vacant, the clerk said they were ALL taken!! Well fast forward to the evening hours and closing time for the office, they post the numerous open sites available should you come in after hours. So I'll say it again, STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!! it's a scam to gin up more cash. If you're traveling east, there's a Koa outside Memphis and west, there's more koa's. I'm writing this at 4:00 am. We came in last night after 9 hrs on the road. We made the reservation online. When you check in, they offer you ear plugs and ask you not to give them a bad review. The campground is right on the Interstate. We have a tent in the bed of our truck and we finally had to just get inside of our truck at around 1:30am to try and get some sleep. All you hear, allllllllllll night are 18 wheelers, cars and you are a block from a train track. So, train horns. VERY loud allllll night. We managed to collectively sleep about an hour and 15 minutes in the seats of our truck. Once you make a KOA reservation, they keep a portion if you cancel and we made ours same day. So do yourself a favor and find another campground. We have another 9-10 hours on the road today and we are going to be miserable. read more

What a difference a year makes, experiencing problems with our tow vehicle, made it from Little Rock KOA to West Memphis KOA. No reservation on a Thursday for a two night stay, told at the desk they were completely booked and the sites we usually stay were down for repairs. Only one solitary site left, #52, in the most expensive area of the park. Now mind you we were early and the park looked empty. That evening as the office closed they posted available sites. Later that afternoon we went to the pool, last year pristine, this year a very pregnant guest skimming pine needles and other debris so her family could enjoy the water. And the next day heard a familiar story from our site neighbors in #51. Made a reservation 4 days in advance for 2 nights only to arrive and be informed no reservation found and only 1 site available, again the most expensive in the park. Haha this couple came in after us! Again only "1 site available..." This is nothing more than a money grab and bad business practice. If you show up and they tell you this story, be prepared to walk away. read more

This was a great place to stay overnight. A little pricey for the amenities. I would definitely not choose this for a place to stay more than overnight or where I would need a campfire. The neighbors campfire was extremely close to our truck and had they lite it, I would have been worried that it would hurt the paint. Campsites are on top of each other. Not a lot of tree coverage. I stay here again for an overnight but that's about it. read more

This place is truly just a 1 night place to stay cause the sites are so tight. We stayed 3 nights and were amazed at the daily turnover. Rec hall wasn't open unless you asked them to open it the, pool was closed and turning green and no outlet in the restroom at the sinks. The restrooms were clean and they had a nice laundry room. Small playground and horseshoes/corn hole. Fall is officially here and didn't see any leaves being picked up. read more

This is a very cute KOA. The staff was friendly and all the facilities were pristine. This is one of the few KOAs we've been to where the showers are in the same space as the bathroom stalls, and that's the way I prefer it. It is no fun trying to get dressed in the same small wet shower area, and here we had the ability to shower and step out to finish getting ready. They have a very well stocked store, a Cafe, a pool, a dog park, bikes, a playground, a Gaga ball pit, and giant chess/checkers. It was nice to have activities to do on-site. I only wish we had a fire pit in our site. If we are ever back in the area, we will be sure to stop in. read more

We made reservations several months ago and arrived during their closed hours. Thankfully they sent a text that morning of our arrival date letting us know their hours which are 8-10 am then 2-8 pm. It appears they are short staffed, or just inadequately trained, as questions were asked multiple times (explained further down) and yet no one ever remedied the issues. We paid for a pull through deluxe patio site which we received however the sites, and overall park, need to be graded after a lot of gravel is dumped. The sites and park have a lot of muddy, grooved and uneven gravel areas. Our site 51 was across from the store and was the ONLY site without our water spigot being insulated. THE. ONLY. ONE for the entire park. We addressed this with the office on 3 occasions and were told someone (he was given as the person over and over) would come and insulate it. They never did. Their water spigot froze due to their negligence to properly care for THEIR property. Our RV was fine. Our pipes, tanks, hoses, etc are heated so it was NOT our problem or issue. The road noise is no joke. From big rigs on the road to trains every little bit to planes flying low overhead it was a real plane, trains and automobiles kind of experience. The store was not very well stocked except mostly souvenirs and a few RV items. No soda, juice, milk, etc were available. The small grocery selection were items from Walmart that they were selling (third party sales are illegal or so I thought ‍). The laundry facility is basic but works. The bathhouse was dated but clean. The women's bathroom door does not close fully from inside so the cold air blasts in which is problematic for those using it to shower (We did not use the showers). The BBQ offered is standard microwaveable fare and okay. Nice that it is delivered to your site. We stayed here recently and I feel that this place should come with a warning about the mosquitos. Within 3 minutes we had about 200 in our trailer. We spent about 40 minutes killing them and blood getting everywhere. We are covered in bites. They are all over the place, so much so that the air looks thick with them and there are even some that remain in the morning which isn't even prime time for mosquitos. They really need to spray regularly. It's out of control. If you use the showers there will be mosquitos in there with you. Speaking of the showers, they're old and in need of repairs. The metal shower caddy hanging behind the shower heads are very rusty. The tiles are broken and there is mold on the ceiling. I would've taken photos but honestly I just wanted to get out. The bathrooms don't lock, anyone can get in without a code. This location is very close to the interstate. We saw tent campers and they're mere feet from the interstate as they're up front. I don't know how they slept at all. With noise masking earbuds I could barely hear the traffic but without them I would've had problems sleeping and we were rows back. And yes, there's a train that goes through and blows it's horn all night. I will say I did feel relatively safe at this location, but we just couldn't ever go back. I don't mean to rip a business, but I struggled even giving 2 stars. They just have a lot of things they need to address. read more

Despite the negative reviews, we found this campground a great place for an overnight stay. Yes, it's near the highway, but we've had worse noise at night. We did stay on the last row, furthest from the highway, site B. The campground was clean and well-maintained, the roads appeared to have been recently graded, but the sites were fairly tight especially closer to the front. The staff were friendly and we did enjoy the pulled pork sandwiches, Cole slaw and baked beans! A nice extra that was unexpected. We did not inspect the bathrooms or laundry. The pool was empty but appeared in good condition. Overall we would stay there again. read more

KOAs, first, are way overpriced. I pulled in to this KOA, checked in, paid and they took me to a site that the electric panel was sitting in 6-8 inches of water. No thx. They had other empty sites but didn't want to inconvenience incoming campers so wouldn't do anything for me, even for one night (I was supposed to stay 3), so basically had to leave. Do better KOA and don't expect people to be in flooded sites. read more

It's actually in Arkansas, for one. Getting back from Beale Street is an adventure, to say the least. The front desk workers will give you a hint or two about where to park on Beale Street, but they don't really give you an indication of how weird it is to get back to the KOA. We made it fine. Everyone was super nice. They offer dinner until around 7pm, they have a 9 foot pool, and a large store. There are only two cabins. We were lucky enough to stay in one. The cabin was nice. It had A/C, a small fridge, and a microwave. But be forewarned--this place must be the mother ship for mosquitoes. They were constant and vigorous. You couldn't leave the cabin door open for even 5 seconds before the place was swarming with mosquitoes. They got in our car, the cabin, everywhere. I think only military grade repellent would work on these suckers. The bathrooms were okay. Basically, everything is a little run down. Not dirty, just run down. read more

Very Clean KOA! Great campsite... other than the interstate and train noise... which our AC helped muffled the sound . And I would WARN!! The place is INVESTED WITH MOSQUITOES!! This is NO EXAGGERATION! You literally have to run from your car or bathrooms and QUICKLY open and shut the door to your camper.. then at least 100 will come in! Then you have to swat all of them so they don't eat you alive in your sleep!... I'm sure being so close to the Mississippi river is the issue.. I wouldn't rate the campground based on the mosquitoes!! Not a big deal as we just stayed one night in passing. I wouldn't recommend this if you are going to be camping for a few days with kids running around.. unless you dip them in DEET! read more

Out of all the KOA's our family has stayed at over the last several years, this is probably one of my least favorites. We got eaten alive mosquitos and no-see-ums. The AC in cabin 1 struggled (putting it nicely) and I understand humidity, but given the environment in this part of the world investing in a better AC is a no brainer for me. The location to me is not bad at all. With white noise in the background we did not hear the traffic and the grounds are very pretty. The kids loved the playground and the chess board. The cafe staff was wonderful, but the guy working the front desk was so-so. The groundskeepers were very nice too. read more

I will second the misquotes even going into the month of October. Only one tent site has a fire ring and it says grass pad but hardly any of the ground is level around the area. I know KOAs need to be accessible but the tent sites are all directly against the bank of a 'creek' (so many bugs!) and the highway (constant noise!). I doubt I'll sleep a wink. Giving two stars because I didn't think hospitality was an issue and the Facilties are nice! read more

The campground itself was clean and obviously well taken care of ( nice store, clean facilities, clean sites), but the location if you are staying in a tent is less than desirable. It is right off of the highway and the tent sites have nothing between them and the road to absorb some of the sound. There are also trains that run all night, making it incredibly hard to sleep. The mosquitos there are insane. We got covered in bites, despite the spray we used. Other people have complained about the mosquito situation, so I hope that the owners take some time to spray in the future. We would not return in a tent, but probably would if we had a camper. read more

We spent one night here and it was not a good experience. First, they wouldn't honor our 10% discount from Good Sam. The campground would only honor the KOA discount even though the KOA website says they honor Good Sam too. This is the ONLY KOA we have been to that has not honored our discount. It went down hill from there. Like others said: The Highway noise was all night long and we were in the back 1/2 of the park! The mosquitoes were non-stop. Had had to use lots of bug spray to keep the mosquitoes away, and they were still awful. There was a great play place for our dog, unfortunately, the mosquitoes harassed our dog the whole time he was outside. There are much better KOAs and campgrounds; keep looking. read more

1. If they are going to advertise as "Memphis" KOA then I think they should also let people know about actually getting to Memphis. When we checked in and I asked the office what time we should leave to get to Graceland the next day for a 10am tour, they informed me we should leave by 6am!!! The I-40 bridge is out and all traffic has to take the I-55 which makes traffic a bear! We almost didn't even go in to Memphis based on their info. And that would have ruined that part of our trip. But... I checked google maps and it was a bit slow going but not that bad. We went in 2 different days and had a wonderful time. 2. There were lots of shady spots available but we were given one with full afternoon sun. We couldn't even sit outside until 6:30 pm. 3. They have a lot of land and a very small dog park area. We have a greyhound that needs to run and she wasn't able to. This is one reason we stay at KOAs. They do have some nice agility items. 4. Site itself was pretty level and nice. 5. Staff seemed nice and friendly (only one lady in the office when we checked in seemed to have an attitude but she isn't the one who checked us jn). 6. They offer breakfast but we didn't take advantage but I'm sure it was nice. And they will deliver dinner to your site. Both nice perks. read more

A large storm left the site under water and the power out at the site the day of our arrival. We obviously couldn't stay for safety reasons, but when we attempted to get our money refunded, we were told no. Now I get it was an act of god that was outside of the site owners control, but when a site is reserved you are paying for specific amenities...not shin deep water and no electricity. The site failed to meet their end of the agreement and thus, should void and refund. KOA's are usually great...I've never had a bad experience till now...the Memphis KOA is a different story. Your smart to move on down the road a bit and find another site to give your money to. read more

Extremely helpful and friendly staff! We stayed here in February on a cross-country road trip and really enjoyed our stay! Doug and Mike were the best! We were new to the RV world and they went above and beyond to help us out! The showers and restrooms were clean, as well as the laundry room. Our grandkids loved the stop especially since there was snow on the ground - they were even able to build a small snowman. Our dog Rollie enjoyed a nice warm blanket given to him by the staff and he used it all the way to California! This was one of our most memorable stops! read more

We recently stayed at the KOA in Marion, TN. We booked last minute and got a site right near the interstate. It was very noisy but that's what we got for waiting. There were also trains that ran during the night and you could hear them use their horns all night. Pool looked very nice and clean but we didn't use it. They had a cafe that served food but when going there my 10 year learned we were in WWIII and schools are teaching kids how to survive by eating humans!! The dumpster was overflowing and there were just a pile of about 20-30 bags on the ground. It served our purpose but I wouldn't recommend. read more

Pulled into this KOA right off the freeway, with loud truck/traffic noise. Office people kinda grumpy, robotic. Not happy! But sarcastic enough! I complained about all the water puddles and mud everywhere and he said he would put a big umbrella over the place but I was thinking more gravel or pavement, more drainage improvements. Very generic. No charm. Some large trees and grass by the dog pen with RV sites he said for long term people, or employees. I asked for one of those as it had grass, not mud but he said no. So he mentioned the first hour with KOA's you can use the 1 hour guranteee. You don't like it, then you get your money back. We did!! read more

Of all the KOA's I've stayed at, this is the worst! First of all I've stayed there before and due to the rain, my electrical cord was in a large puddle of water that I had to wade through. That said, they are on the way to my destination so I was going to use them again. Then the protesting and violence there started. I kept checking and it was looking like it was not going to stop so I decided to abandon my trip. I was due to stay there on the 4th of June and I call to cancel on the 2nd of June. The first KOA was understanding and gave me everything but $10 back. Memphis - not so much. They refused to give me anything back. read more
