The park is tucked back in the neighborhood and has a lovely, small parking lot with room for a dozen or so cars. The play structure has a number of different sections that range from advanced, down to good for smaller kids. There's a very nice covered structure and some large trees with benches and picnic tables below them paid on a hot day, it was not hard to find shade. This was the perfect complement to the adjoining park which has a large bike track. It was great for the kids to be able to burn off some energy riding their bikes and then cut through some trees and immediately be in an area where they could run around and climb. If you live in Ellensburg, this is a perfect spot to go run the kids at, and if you live in one of the towns surrounding Ellensburg, it's a perfect place to travel to to let the kids do something different!

Approximately 70% of my life has been spent within 30 miles of Ellensburg and until this past…read moreweekend, I had no idea this park was here. Our eight-year-old recently discovered pump tracks and when we found out there was one in Ellensburg, we decided we needed to check it out. The pump track is only a small part of the larger Rotary Park. This place is got basketball courts, baseball/softball fields and large soccer fields. It even has a dog park that is larger than most of the parks that we frequent. The pump track is a small BMX track that works really well for bike riders of all ages and skill levels. There are four separate areas within this track, ranging from figure jumps with harder obstacles, all the way down to smaller dirt humps. The place is really nicely kept up and we spent a couple hours here, a few days in a row. The kids love it and there are a couple adjoining areas the lead to tennis courts and a playset. It made it really nice for the younger kids to be able to run around on a playset, and the older kiddo being able to continue to ride his bike while everyone was able to see us. If you haven't checked this place out, you owe it to yourself to do so! There's literally something for everybody!

But, I wouldn't recommend swimming. The water is fetid and smells. The shoreline is not sand, it's dirt. Which is fine, but I see people get in their bathing suits and take a dip. Hopefully they have good health insurance RIP.
