It's just beautiful walking into their store. We went to have my mother-in-laws viola restored/fixed. It's such an old instrument, and wanted it appraised. The second we heard the viola, we cried. It was beautiful. My wife's mother had passed away from cancer in 1991 when my wife was only 9 years old. The viola was crafted in France around the late 1800's to early 1900's and a family heirloom. Hearing it was amazing. Beautiful. The woman that played it gave us a nice rounded value for it, played it for us, and we left in happy tears. I highly recommend Forte Strings. Forte Strings is a great store for violin, viola, cello, bass instruments. The owners are super friendly and knowledgeable. They helped me tune up my daughter's unused 8 years-old violin and it sounded fantastic again! Amazing customer service and everything was done by professionals. I last played my violin about 19 years ago and it had been sitting in my closet, until my young nephew needed a violin. So I took the violin in for new strings and any repairs it needed. Deana and the gentleman that helped me are friendly and are professional musicians. They gave me honest assessment of what I needed and what I didn't necessarily need at this time. They tuned my violin perfectly and they made appropriate repairs to my violin and the bow. Like so many others during the pandemic, my girlfriend revisited her musical pastime of playing the violin. Unfortunately, the 12-years of TLC had begun to show during this final stretch of quarantine and undoubtedly, it became time to consider welcoming a new member to the family. My girlfriend combed through countless pages of music shops on Yelp, yet for some reason, Forte Strings - 36 MILES AWAY from where we live in Los Angeles - stood out to her as the only place she felt comfortable visiting. Through and through, from the moment the owner Deana welcomed us into the shop before our scheduled appointment time to being offered a cup of coffee for the road home, it quickly became apparent why this shop was rated as highly as it is. Not only are the instruments of insane quality, but so too were the owners Deana and Eric who made the overall experience such a pleasant and inviting one.
