I hired Alvin and his crew to lay asphalt on my driveway thinking that I would finally have a…read moresmooth drive to my house. Unfortunately, now I have a wavy and super bumpy drive that requires major fixing going toward my home. Alvin kept asking how it looked and as someone with no experience in laying asphalt I though it generally looked alright. Once I was able to drive on it though, the entire drive felt like I was off-road. I was only able to drive on it because there was a break in their work due to rain, if not for that I would never have been able to bring up the issues to Alvin. The solution he came up with was patching the low points that he needed to be told were there. I even offered that he drive on it before the last day of pouring so that he could feel what he and his crew did to my driveway. Although he did patch some of the low points he didn't offer to or want to fix the issues. He walked with me and needed me to point out the mistakes his crew made because it seemed like he either had low observation skills or choose not to see the obvious mistakes. He kept complaining that they went over on materials and measurements even after he and I clearly went over the measurements and expectations my wife and I had. Alvin made excuses and said that they couldn't tell how bumpy it was or looked because of shade coming from my trees. Even after be told his crew to patch the low points that I plainly saw but he couldn't, the driveway was left in bad shape. Alvin attributed the issues to what he said were crew problems because they would continually leave the equipment stationary on the driveway while paving causing the waves and bumps. I gave him the benefit of the doubt because I assumed everything would settle as time passed. I was completely wrong. I am now left with a driveway that requires major re-paving of some sort to fix the uneven mess that they left. For the amount I paid and now have to pay someone else to fix everything, this operation is not worth it. Financially, this company is not worth the time or money spent.

I was also impressed by his professional manner and felt extremely comfortable with Lawson from the moment he first came to the house to give us a bid. I found his prices were reasonable too.
