Windows are LEAKing! What was supposed to be our "Home" is now a money pit. Mallett told us they can do a Barndo shell, they told us we can live in it. I wish we would have done more research on how each company builds these. For Mallett, they put up the bones, put bubble wrap, screw in windows/doors (no taping aterwards), then metal sheeting. The build seems strong, but windows are leaking. I don't know if it is because the windows were not sealed with the taping after being screwed in and the metal just ends at the window which seems like water can slide on in, or spray foam being installed after, OR a Combination of Both. Everything we worked so hard for and now we feel heartbroken. Any Medium/Hard rain storm and water gets into our new building. We called and messaged mallett a few times to assist in make it right, but they have not responded. So here we are writing this review. UPDATE: Malletts has contacted us and said they will look at the issue. I will update this review once a conclusion is made and/or issue resolved. read more

Bought a building (30x50) through this company in June of 2025. It took roughly 6 months for them to construct. During the construction phase concerns were brought up regarding pad height not matching pre-existing driveway as requested. Since I pulled the permit, they refuse to go back and fix the building/pad as "I am the contractor". Malletts inspector offered to make an easy fix (build a ramp and cement pour time) if I paid him and his concrete crew $1500 on the side. Still waiting for doors to be installed to complete this project. Would not recommend this company. Most positive reviews are due to a discount Mallett offers at contract time. EDIT: Follow up, doors have been delayed due to their employees being picked up by ICE. read more

We chose NOT to use mallett for our other buildings. Once bitten twice shy. I wont do business with a company that requires a large deposit and has a contract over 4-5 pages again. We repaired our building issues our selves. Wont waste our time with their warranty. Only use companies that agree to pay down schedules. That helps stop a lot of issues from arising. Communication with this company will drive you nuts. Shop around and research barndominium companies. read more

Terrible Company!!!! Definitely would not recommend this company to anyone! My husband and I had such a terrible experience with them that we ended up going with another company for our build. This caused us to lose a good bit of money that we had already put down. Which I might add we would have never put down if things would have been explained to us properly. These people have an entire crew of men who do not speak English. One knew enough to be able to communicate where the lines were to put the building up straight and then took it upon himself to slightly turn the entire building when they built it. Then I was told by Chad that they do that all the time. So, instead of correcting the problem, they just tell woke to deal with it. I now have a 30 thousand dollar crooked barn behind my house. They left garbage all over my property, they left hardware for the barn that apparently I needed in boxes among the heaps of trash they left so I found those when cleaning it up. They also pay for good reviews. My MIL got 200 dollars for one and since they paid her, she didn't leave an accurate review and said they were great. They were not. It has been months since they "finished" and forgot to put trim up on top of my french doors. We keep calling and at first they lied and said they had the trim in stock but that was a lie because now they have said they need to order it. Do not hire them read more

DON'T use them! Don't even get me started on the complications and frustrations we had. Most of their employees pass the call along and no one responds timely or with any actual info. Mr. Mallett himself Is the worst. Several months into process (we had them build a shell we purchased to make into a barndo) we had a conf call with him. He was rude, interrupted, and didn't listen. Our building process happened during the Covid outbreak and two back to back hurricanes in the area. They worked hard in getting it done in a timely manner. We do love our shed and the space it allows for us to store our belongings. This past August we were hit with Hurricane Ida. This shed was definitely built to withstand those hurricane winds. We are very thankful that we went with Mallett and the quality of materials they used. Now our shed is our storage unit while our house is in the rebuild process. read more

Horrible customer service and process. Very hard to get information from employees on what needs to be done and communication within their organization is severely lacking. Third party people they hired know nothing and ask for more money when they get to the job. Mr. Mallet says his BBB rating is great and to call him directly with any issues (his response to my google review) - it won't do you any good. He is rude and very much all about himself as stated in a pervious review. He called me and argued with me after he saw my review instead of trying to get to the bottom of things and get it handled like a trustworthy business owner would do. I am not usually someone to complain, but I refuse to let anyone be bamboozled by this company. They are out to make money and don't care about your satisfaction. Permit office, materials company, and even the people contracted through them all told us the same- they drag their feet and are difficult to work with. Great Product! Process was easy and fast and the building came out great!! The people at Mallett are kind and easy to deal with

In two days it will be eleven months since I started this process with them. They still aren't finished. They have all their money from me, and they structure the contract so they get their money first before they complete a building phase. Their contrete contractor has been here 6 times to "fix" what he did. He was suppose to be a smooth finish. He has told me 4 times the pad would be wet sanded and ground smooth which he never did. So I have trowel marks, drops, slop edges. Like the others said, you don't get called back. You can call them and that person no longer works for their company. Lately though I have been receiving text messages that they will be here on such and such a day only to receive another text that the weather is too bad or someone called in sick. Well now their scheduled for tomorrow, and guess what. Rain is forecasted again. I beginning to think they are looking at the forecast to see when it is suppose to rain so they can give me an excuse. I have been waiting since December for my gutters to be installed. For me the building is constructed good with very good materials. The lumber they used is excellent. The metal is clean and appears to have an excellent finish. After all of this I recommend you go elsewhere. The way they do business they won't be around to honor that warranty anyway. read more

Mr. Mallett and the Vice President have never treated us without anything other than respect and gratefulness for purchasing our Mallett Building. Go somewhere else to get a building. You tell them about problems and they just ignore you. Act like they are going to fix but never do. In the end they tell you this is the first time they ever heard about this. The people you spoke to no longer work there. A fake vice president called us but they know nothing about what you are talking about. The entry door was dented from day one. An inspecter came and found scratches on roll up door. They were suppose to touch up. A screw is missing in the back doorknob. The concrete has dips in it. They are not going to fix anything. Even the people that work for them doesn't understand what is going on because they lost their boss. Inspector has list but we do not know where this inspector and the list is. The vice president should have a list but now no one knows anything. Poor communications throughout company. We knew we had to pay at different steps in the process. We thought we would pay Mallard not the contractors with names like Caddyshack and Natures Best, which all go back to Mallett. You have no choice but to sign and pay when work is done or you will be charged an extra $50 for everyday you don't. My husband spoke to Mr Mallett total waste of time. Very rude. All about himself. Doesn't care about what the quality care of a number 1 building should be. If you truely cared about customer satisfaction, you would have replaced walk in door, touched up roll up door, and added a screw to the doorknob. At which point I never would have written this review. We were also wanting another building. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN NOW. Don't bother responding because it's going to be all about Mallett anyway. Who cares about the customer? It would actually be a zero but that is not a option. By the way my husband never initialed a single line of your building inspection report, so none of the items pertained to our building. Yes he sign it and paid because he had to or he would have to pay an extra $50 dollars a day. We thought we were dealing with honest people that you could call and tell them your problems. Customer satisfaction- repair problems. All I can say is what goes around comes around. Ya'll were repeated told about repairs. You stay in business by cheating people. If you didn't have such a high turnover in employees, first we were suppose to speak to Bonnie, then she no longer works there. Next we are suppose to speak to Johnathan, which we told about the problems but then he no longer works there. We are not good at remembering names of people we speak to once. The inspector that came before slab was poured knew about it. He said the repairs would be done. The fake vice president we spoke to knew about all the problems. As for roll up doors, concrete and doors not locking. The gutter crew adjusted doors and cleaned at bottom of doors. That's how they got repaired, not that you sent someone over immediately. I have pictures of walk in door with dings in it the first day the door was put up and the walls are not completely up. Anyone would like me to email to them let me know, kat6154@yahoo.com. The least I can do is educate others. Be sure to completly check your building after each phase. Write any problems on the paper you will have to sign and pay. It will say on this paper if you do not sign and pay you will be charged $50.00 for everyday until signed and paid. Do not just call and tell anyone. They will just lie and say they will repair. Do not trust their supposed inspector when he comes. He will tell you they will set up a time to repair items. Will not happen. This inspector came before concrete was poured. Make notes of names of everyone you speak to and time. Most important you will have to pay and sign. Write all problems down on paper. The inspector report he is talking about he sent is the paper you will see at time of payment. As I said earlier, note every repair down on paper before signing. This paper says to initial all that pertains to building. My husband never initialed any anything. Truth! Mr Mallett or someone in the company even hide my review on Google. I managed to retrieve it.
