Honest Review of Fortis Institute - Nashville I attended the nursing program at Fortis Institute in Nashville for two years (2022-2024), and unfortunately, my experience was far from positive. The program lacked strong leadership, effective teaching methods, and adequate student support. The instructors were not helpful, and the student council offered little to no assistance. Despite dedicating two years to the program, I was unable to complete it--along with the majority of my classmates. Out of 40 students, only 2 managed to graduate on time, which speaks volumes about the program's quality and structure. The curriculum was poorly organized, and many students struggled due to inadequate instruction and guidance. Since then, I have transferred to a university to continue my nursing education, and I know several fellow students who also had to transfer. Unfortunately, many of us had to start over or nearly start over in a new nursing program at another college. This has been frustrating, costly, and time-consuming. If you're considering Fortis Institute for nursing, I highly recommend looking at other options. A strong nursing program should set students up for success, but this one felt like a waste of time and money. read more

I am so very proud to be apart of the Fortis Smyrna family. I began my journey as a transplant from the Chicago/Indiana area in December 2017. I fled my home town after being robbed at gun point while at work. I was ordered to the back of the store to die. Upon my arrival here I was determined to live my best life in my new home state free from fear. I observed the old Fortis sign on Windy Hill Rd. I called and was invited to visit the campus. Let me tell you... that was the best phone call I ever made. Within six weeks of my arrival I began my journey at Fortis. I must say that I found the entire campus facility, staff and educators to be outstanding. I enjoyed learning new skillsets and enhancing my previous life experiences and education. I absolutely loved becoming a Student Ambassador supporting our school student leadership and impacting the community as well. I am a recent graduate of this campus. Upon completing my externship on a Wednesday, I began my career that following Monday. As of yesterday, I also successfully passed my NHA certification test. Fortis College is growing everyday and has become a better school. The instructors are amazing as well as the rest of the staff down to the janitor. I was in the EMS programs for a year. My instructor along with the other EMS instructors (day and night) were always willing to help me, answer all my questions, let me sit in on extra classes, and tutoring was available as well. My class and I became family. Everyone there was for my success as well as theirs. It was a great experience. The instructors have real life experience in the fields they teach. They teach you more than just pages in a book. My instructor taught me to be strong and move forward even when no one else is walking with you and they hold you back. She had passion for what she did and I loved that. The registrar and career services were very friendly and always helped me out with anything I needed. They were spunky and had brilliant ideas for the school. Change can be a good thing. I hope this school continues to grow and the students get as much out of it as I did. read more

I currently attend Fortis College, I must admit after having children and working two full time jobs i was afraid to go back to school. But now that i have, I can't think of one reason why i hadnt done it sooner. I'm in an environment where i am surrounded by positivity, i'm around other students who are in the same situation as me. We all have one common goal and that is to succeed in life. From every aspect of the school from the President to the Dean, the Registar and most definitely the Career Services department everyone that works there are beyond helpful and so friendly. I'm so happy i decided to come to Fortis the teachers are amazing as well as all the other staff every seems to genuinely care about the well being and success of the students. This school is very awesome. The Instructors are willing to go above and beyond and give extra assistance. I am in the EMS department, I am a graduate for the EMT and AEMT programs. Soon I will be a Paramedic graduate. Mrs. Jessica and Mrs. Pat have been a constant in my 3 year experience and all of the other instructors have been great. They are always available to me and genuinely care about the students and their education. Recently, I had issues and struggles and I requested to come in early and leave late for help. Me and my wife came to Fortis College for two different program. After finishing school, we found jobs immediately. We both love the school, the president, the dean, all instructors, and all faculties, especially career services. We were treated not just like students but like family. Fortis College ,especially the Dental Hygiene program, is amazing! The staff and instructors are awesome! They work with you and cheer you on through out the entire program. I am a student going into my 3rd module. It has been an amazing journey for me. I came to Fortis for a career change after spending 20 years in childcare. I was very nervous but the staff made me feel like I belonged. I am excited about making the Presidents List as well as being elected in the Student Ambassadors program. Fortis is a great college to come to. I've been here for 2 modules and heading in to my third and I must say that it has exceeded all expectations. The class sizes are small which is really good because its easier to learn. The staff is wonderful and they are really resourceful. They have events for the students as well which is a lot of fun. Fortis College is a great school to attend. I started back in 2015 as a dental assistant and continued on to getting my degree in dental hygiene. In the hygiene department all the instructors are willing to help and teach. I will say I have definitely learned a lot at this school. Great experience at Fortis College as an EMT student and a Paramedic student. The EMS department as a whole is amazing. They are very knowledgeable with a lot of experience.
