Under no circumstances can I recommend this office for the following reasons: 1. Customer service is awful. They do not return calls, emails or texts - even when students are following the appropriate channels. 2. Instructors give conflicting information and facts. I provided examples to the office manager. He promised to research and follow up, but never did. 3. Instructors have led classes while wearing closed motorcycle helmets. First and foremost, I'd like to point out that the information that is given here at their free workshop is highly valuable to the individual who knows absolutely nothing about the trading world. However, the way they make their proposal is extremely in a scam like way and in some cases will push you away to be motivated to learn more about the trading world, in their "free workshop" promotion they emphasize that you'll learn new strategies however, this isn't the case, they briefly go over charts showing you "supply & demand zones" or (support and resistance levels) At the end of the presentation, you're given an option to come back for a 3-day class for a specific price that they decide to give you. Each price is different per workshop, so I won't display the price I was offered. However, after further conversation with one of the sales representatives, I was told that and I quote "Because you're in the class for three days going over SIX different trading styles, you won't be able to go into FULL detail of each style." Indicating that at the end of the 3-day course there is another offer of even more money to continue (Each price is different according to the trading style you have but the beginning price that is mandatory for you to proceed in the school is $7,000) Again this information isn't given to you until you complete their 3-day course. Per their refund policy you have up until 3 days before your class starts to be entitled to a complete refund. In which majority of your questions will be answered with "They go over that information in the 3-day course, all you have to do is make it to the 3-day course." In which once you begin this 3-day course you're no longer entitled to the refund ONCE you decide that you cannot commit to the $1,000 down payment to continue the course. Keeping in mind that yes 'FREE WORKSHOPS" do come with some kind of sales pitch. However, if they could be forward about how much the entire class does cost it would result in individuals with limited funding to 1. Find the proper funding or 2. Decide to move forward at a later time with the academy. In conclusion, it's easy for others to say this is simply a "scam" however as a trader myself for almost a decade and going with a friend to ensure they don't receive improper information. The training is very worth it if you do have the funding. However, if you're looking to get into the trading industry your much better off in my opinion, starting off in YouTube and reading some trading books to start you off. This academy is really only beneficial to the trader who needs a few pointers here and there. To start you off if you're really interested, I highly recommend starting off with Babypips.com (completely free of cost) "The disciplined trader" and "trading in the zone" books by Mark Douglas. And going to grab a "Day trading for dummies" book will never hurt as it goes thru all the proper information needed to begin and costs less than a fraction of what you'll pay here. Again, starting off in YouTube is probably the best bang for your buck (being that you'll save a lot because its free). And with that being said the presenters here love to inform you that they don't like YouTube or trading books because there is no one to correct you or show you what you're doing wrong or right. If you don't feel like putting in the time and effort of sitting on charts and learning in due proper time for free and rather pay someone to show you than maybe this academy is for you. I did the free half day class that was mostly a sales pitch. You are reminded over and over that you must "qualify" to be a student. They adamantly advised against making emotional decisions about money, but put high pressure on you to sign up and pay for the 3 day course before you leave, during a musical interlude. It is reminiscent of that moment in southern churches after the pastor has everyone feeling guilty and remorseful and your supposed to go up to the alter and pray with one of the deacons. They even come to your table and kneel. They really hard sell the sense of urgency around signing up at that very time. If you go home to think about things, you are obviously not committed, and not OTA caliber people. There was a short segment where candlesticks were explained which was useful, but nothing you can't find elsewhere for free. The rest was just a long sales pitch full of cliches and colorful anecdotes with a strategic sprinkling of stories that just so happen to include some expensive vacation they were on when this super interesting thing happened. Except that they were not that expensive.... Despite all this, the next week, I returned a follow up email from one of their coaches and decided to take the 3 day orientation course just to learn more about trading and how the markets work. The representative did not know when to stop selling. I barely got a word in while talking to him. He tossed in a little shame tactic by mentioning that I had a chance to sign up at the workshop and that he would try to "get someone else's scholarship pulled" from the other class that month. (I guess he didn't get the memo about not making emotional financial decisions). After receiving another long email that was a sales pitch (after I had already paid), along with an intrusive questionnaire, I decided to research a little more. My suspicions were confirmed. I sent an email to the representative saying that this was more involved than I thought, and would like a refund. What I got back was a personal insult. I waste other people's time and resources (more shame tactic, or tantrum. not sure which), and I am not a person that can make decisions (this was either a tantrum, or a sales tactic to get me to qualify myself to "The Academy"). If you have ever had a door to door insurance salesman accuse you of not caring about your family if you don't buy his policy, then you know exactly what I am talking about. This type of tactic works on lower IQ and/or insecure individuals who are afraid of confrontation or being perceived as "not one of us". I have found there are many other avenues for learning about the stock marked without getting involved in something like this. read more

Don't fall for it. The Atlanta branch is a scheme. I'm currently suing them for not providing me with the classes after I paid for my tuition in full. After COVID hit they started doing all classes remotely and that is simply not what I signed up for. The director who convinced me to sign up and told me he would be my coach left the company a month after. If you attend the seminar they are going to torture you until you sign up for the insanely expensive classes they offer. These people are running a shady business. Stay away from it. Update 10/11/2021: My lawyer has informed me that the school is not responding to the service agent. They are doing everything they can to keep the full tuition paid by me and hope for this to go away. This has taken a huge toll on my life. A few months after I paid in full for all classes that never happened, my dad passed away from COVID, and informed the directors that I was despaired trying to get my money back to help with the unexpected expenses. Nothing happened. I'm still struggling financially because of this situation. I urged them to help me, but all I was offered was more of the online courses they have, which I never signed up for. read more

Online Trading Academy should be considered one of the best schools in the country. Yes, that's a pretty bold statement but in this case it might be true. Once you become part of the community you are treated like family. The education starts with pre-essentials so when its time for in-person classes you are ready. Didn't quite get it all during class? No problem, there are online retake classes, there is one on one instruction, there's student support personnel, there are even mini classes for specific parts of the courses so you don't have to take an entire class again, just take the part you need and its available until you get it. Just finished the 7 day course on futures trading, instructed by Michelle. This course was intense, since there is such a wide scope of trading considerations in the futures environment. Michelle, the master of all, took us through the various trades - oil, beef, currencies, indexes, precious metals, corn, et al. Each has distinct attributes, but all can be done in the trading environment. Michelle would spend half the time instructing, and half the time making us actually create and execute trade tickets in a simulated market environment. So at the end of the course, I walked out knowing what i don't know and how to stay on the course to become a trader. The facility is great, the beverages and snacks give some energy, lunch is free and choices of sandwiches and salads. I highly recommend this course of instruction for those who desire. I can't imagine how it could be any better than the OTA approach. Also, cudos to the front desk - Ashton and Brittany - for keeping us on track throughout the week. read more

I've heard these guys broadcast and advertise on the Atlanta airwaves for years, and "won" an evening seminar which turned into a sales pitch for their courses. At the end of the evening, I ended up paying $299 for a "no risk" three-day workshop to learn more about their approach to making money in up- and down-markets. In two words what they are teaching you to do is to day-trade based on evaluating the charts of a stock's (or other financial instrument's) price movements. They fully admit that's part of what they are teaching, although they say you can make money on longer-term trades as well. The workshop is full of heart-warming success stories, guys who went bankrupt and finally hit on day-trading as a way to get back on track. The guy who drives the Ferrari, the other one who can finally donate his time to the church since he does not worry about paying his mortgage, and the guy who won back his family after a nasty divorce. So how much do their courses cost? Try anywhere between $15,000 and $70,000. Yes, they trotted out a price list that gets that high. But wait! If you sign up today, we can drop that price by as much as 25%! No? How about 50%? Can you end up making a profit even after shelling out that much money up front? Perhaps, but be ready for three days of high-pressure sales pitches. Be ready to get called into your "coach's" office on day one, the office of a more senior guy on day two, and then the chief honcho on day three. If you say you're not interested, or can't afford it, be ready for them to look at you like you don't get it. Like you're not willing to invest in your own financial independence. Be ready for them to play your spouse (yes, your spouse MUST attend) off against you. Be ready for them to tell you to max out your credit cards to pay for this, or to cash out/take a loan against your IRA. In short, if you have ever been to a time-share presentation, get ready for that, for three full days, on steroids. I started with OTA Atlanta back in late 2016. I was employed by a Fortune 500 company, and had been for 40+ years. One thing about me, is that I don't do anything really quickly. It takes time for me to contemplate and decide on a course of action. While I didn't enjoy some of the salesy kinds of things about those initial days, the gentlemen who presented, Adam Matisko, Champ, and Mickey, all presented data that was hard to ignore. And I had experienced 1st hand the poor performance and limitations of my 401k. So I joined up. I've taken the initial trading class, Futures, Forex and Options. Along with Proactive Investing, which teaches long term strategies for increasing the valuable nest egg. I started trading live this year. One thing I'll say, the education is vast, and the market is a very wild and fickle beast. The cautions and protections that are taught enable an investment strategy that can generate income that eventually will replace your salary! It takes time, and perseverance. Mistakes are a part of learning, and they will happen. Learning from those will improve the edge and insight that investing requires. Ever since the first minute I stepped into Online Trading Academy, I could sense something different. The atmosphere was just unlike anything I'd ever experienced before. I first went to an initial class that was about 4 hours and found out information I didn't even realize was a "thing". After attending that class I took the 3-day class that was a deeper dive into the different types of markets out there. Very informative and definitely a game changer. I am pretty ticked off. I "won" a $500 class to learn about trading, money, and the market. I was pleased that I could bring my dad (he's 81). Online Trading Academy called me to confirm my "class" time, directions and all that. I talked to a nice man who assured me this wasn't a sales pitch. I told him I never commit to something without thinking about it (as instructed be fellow WSB talk show host, Mr. Clark Howard). He said, oh no, we are for education. Cool... dad is gonna pick me up at 7:45 Saturday morning to be at this workshop/class/tutorial by 8:45ish. I don't like getting up early, especially on Saturday and I also teach drum lessons, so I cancelled my class to attend. I thought this could really be something. We walk in and a "coach" gives us a brief spiel/tour of the school. We are ushered through various classrooms, while other "students" are doing the same. We all end up in a large classroom. All of the staff are very polite. Couldn't be nicer. We get lucky enough to have Adam Matisko be our lecturer and host for the morning. I really enjoyed Adam's energy and obvious knowledge of the business of money, stocks, trading etc...I truly believe he is a good man. Bravo! Unfortunately, the business model is terrible. I really started getting upset when this Bulls and Bears class started at 9:00am and had zero breaks until after 1:00pm. I brought my 81 year old father with prostate issues and in order to go to the bathroom, I had to get up and make sure he made it, while trying not to interrupt the flow of the lecture. Adam was great, but some of the long winded stories just weren't necessary. This class was scheduled from 9:00 to 12:00. At 11:55, Adam was like we are right on time and almost finished (still no break), then a teaser question that we all wanted to hear the answer to...Unfortunately, Adam went on for another hour, which could have been summed up in 5 minutes. The biggest kicker is that now we are to fill out our orientation sheets (3 nine hour a day classes) for a $299 fee. Cash, credit, check etc... totally refundable if we didn't enjoy the class. After a little research this afternoon, I read some reviews that indicated thstbthis 3 day orientation is another hard sell to take other classes the school has to offer at a very high expense (I don't want to list the prices but let's just say they are in the thousands) This is what I read and have not personally witnessed, but I started to get that "hard sell" feel when I went to the bathroom and there were numerous "coaches" in the hall looking concerned that I was leaving. So in a nut shell the 3 hour "class" was really 4 + hours (with no breaks). I graduated from medical school and anyone who knows anything about attention span and concentration knows students, perspective clients, and suckers, need a break. My theory is they don't give breaks because they know people will start leaving once they smell a rat. Once Adam left the room (before he gave us the answer to that very elusive yet intriguing question), we needed to fill out our sheets and commit to a 3 day orientation ( for what was normally $990 but we get it for $299 if we sign today). Excuse my French but that's BS! Not happy. I'm very irritated at this point and I'm like let's go. We had to walk the gauntlet of "coaches" to get to the elevator. The first guy was like what date did you choose? The second was like do you need a pen? The third was like... can I help you fill out your form or some other nonsense. Maybe Online Trading Academy has helped people win financial freedom, they have been around for 20 years supposedly but this current business model is a loser IMHO. The folks riding in the elevator that "escaped" with us had the same sentiment. I took the Core Strategy class a few months ago and just finished the Forex class. The instructors are all professional traders and teach their specialties(Forex, Futures etc) Learning a lot from them. One of the things I like most is that you can take any of the classes over again as many times as you need. But just like every orientation there they have other classes going on at the same time and before the doors open you have a chance to chat with "real" students of the Academy. SCAM!!!!!!!!!!! I've tried calling & emailing you guys several times over the last year regarding my $300 refund for the "orientation" I was not able to attend. I was contacted by one of your reps a few months ago, and I advised I still hadn't received my refund. He told me to call the following day and give his name (don't have it off hand at the moment) and one of the girls at the front desk would issue refund. When I called and spoke to the front desk I was told a check would be sent but I still have not received it to this day. I enrolled at OTA Atlanta in April of 2018. It is now July 2019 so I wanted to write an update for my past year attending OTA. I have attended most of the curriculum at least once, if not two or three times. Each time I attend, I pickup on things that I missed or just didn't make sense to me earlier in my training. I have been trading futures for over 6 months with a live account. I will admit that it is not easy but using the skills I have developed from my past attendance, I have created a plan and a style of trading that works for me. I have yet to start my journey into options trading because I wanted to master all of what I have learned up to this point. My plans are to quit my job in IT within the next 12 months so that I can dedicate my time to trading only. I have found that I can support myself with my trading alone which has been my ultimate goal. I really must thank all of the staff at OTA Atlanta for helping me through this journey. AJ and the rest of the staff at the front desk are rockstars. They have facilitated all of my needs and scheduling making it a breeze to get into all of the classes I wish to attend. Sumit is my coach and I'm not sure what I could even say that would give full credit to all that he has done to make me successful. He is a master trader and a phenomenal coach who cares for the success of his students. Whether it has been during one of my daytime classes or a text to Sumit at 10pm seeking advice, he has always been there for me to support me and give the advice I've needed to make me successful. In closing, I am so so happy I found OTA. I just turned 23 and I can honestly say that Online Trading Academy has set the path for me to have a successful career as a trader. Thankfully my step dad was listening to the radio and heard about them and offered to take me to the workshop. As someone who's wanted to trade since freshmen year of high school. I always hear negative things about teachers and courses. So I decided to learn on my own. It went well somewhat but I always second guess myself and would have great trades and bad trades that eat away at the great trades. Ahaha but after getting to know the people (teachers) and seeing the strategy. I can say it is amazing and they are like trading family. 100% worth every penny. I speak with a lot of traders who have heard about OTA and they see the strategy from the workshop and think they understand it but let me tell you don't make that mistake. Ahaha there's a reason these guys are successful and able to constantly make profits and it's in the school. Everyone is nice and professional. I have been trading the strategy after graduating from the courses and I have seen the difference in my confidence in places trades and also how to trade with the hedge funds rather than against them. One last thing if you do decide to do this don't get discouraged, quit, or expect to be a millionaire overnight. It takes time but if you use the resources that Online Trading Academy provides you'll definitely get it down. I would know I go to the school once or twice a week just to get better and bug them. I signed up for the free OTA workshop on a whim because I was interested in learning about investments. The workshop was pretty much a whole day thing from 9-6pm and was nice enough--they provided lunch. They also provided a good overview for a novice like myself--touching on 401Ks, money markets, and what they provide at the academy as far as trading. I didn't feel harassed but I can't say there wasn't any pressure to sign up for the 3 day orientation--there definitely was some insistence on signing up--but I wanted to learn more so I decided to sign up. They seemed very willing to work with you and refunded your money if you chose not to continue with the courses. So I figured, what could I lose? At the 3-day orientation, we went deeper into some of the things we touched on in the workshop including--the core strategy, setting up entries/exits, 401K/IRAs, asset classes, and even touched on taxes. Overall, I learned a whole lot! More than I expected to get out of a 3 day event and so I was extremely happy that I attended. Over the three days, I got to know the staff that works there--the coach I was assigned to was fabulous. He seemed to really care about where I was in life and what plans/goals I wanted to achieve. At the end of the orientation, I decided not to enroll in the courses provided at OTA and there was no hard feelings. The coach I worked with throughout the orientation was understanding and even gave me some more information that I could research on my own. Trading isn't for everyone and I felt that OTA Atlanta was extremely helpful and accommodating. I can't help but wonder if these are the same folks I read about on other reviews... Anyway, I got a lot of information out of my time with OTA and wouldn't be against looking to take some of their classes in the future. If you're a beginner looking to get some more information, like I was, I'd definitely recommend OTA. read more
