I chose the accelerated class at the Marietta location. Because this location is also a firm, the learning area is shared with the owners. What this meant was that we may need to switch classrooms for part of the day to accommodate. This was not at all a problem. The only difference between the classes was that one was a little smaller than the other, but still comfortable. Ms. Jan was our instructor and I highly recommend her. She plainly set class expectations in the beginning and kept the class on task for the entire two-weeks. She was very good at highlighting important information about real estate rules, law, and prepared us for what would be on the exam. Her classroom management skills are stellar. She created an environment of learning, which showed she cared. I highly recommend Barney Fletcher. read more

Barney Fletcher Schools' online course is horrible. The user interface, videos, all of it is fresh out of 1985. Riddled with typos, grammatical errors, bad 90s clipart, audio tracks with dogs barking in the background, etc. Terrible, terrible, terrible. Also, the chapter quizzes regularly ask questions about material never included in the course! Often times I have to research things on my own and add it to my notes. It's bad enough the quizzes are full of trick questions, making it more difficult. Then you have questions about things never discussed. They use a platform by Cape School, a company who likes to talk about "staying modern" on their own website. I reached out to Barney Fletcher Schools using the messaging feature in my student portal as I had a question about something I was seeing in my Dashboard. I never got a response. Someone clearly designed this platform decades ago, parked it, and just sit back and take people's money. After my 1-star Google review on this school, I got a response that basically said I had 10 days to ask for a refund. Took no responsible for the many flaws I pointed out in my review. I do NOT recommend this school whatsoever. read more

Online class...Outdated user interface & teaching method, uninspiring. If you like to read a plain word document page and then have someone read it back to you, this is the course for you. Each chapter consists of pages to read, then followed by an 'audio presentation' where someone just reads the pages back to you. Grammatical errors! I asked if I could print out the manual (because you are just reading/scrolling through a manual online) and the answer was 'no'. Unfortunately I am one day past the one-week refund period, wishing I could get my money back. There is no app... no graphics... just reading and multiple choice quizzes at the end of each section. It is the least interesting way to learn (and teach) a course. As a former teacher, my students would have fallen asleep if I taught a course like this is presented online. I chose this course due to the 'extra value' they were offering (flash cards, exam prep) but it is TOTALLY NOT WORTH IT. Buy yourself a book and read from that because that is what this course is. read more

Took the pre license exam here. I too was also concerned with reviews I found that were not looking to good on Google. Sorry Yelp, I cheated on you but it was just this time, promise! (lol) I also saw that with all real estate schools, almost all reviews were the same so I had to just pick one and hope for the best. I took the accelerated 10 day class and it was located at a hotel they use on a consistent basis, the Holiday Inn Express off I 85/Clairmont. I won't go into that horrible experience here, however, will also be reviewing them as well. So to book the course, I went online. Everything is easy to navigate. I got confirmations immediately. I also decided to go ahead and pick up my materials ahead of time at the Galleria office. The location is nice as well. The front lady was eating lunch while I got there. Seems like someone needs to give her a dedicated break to eat. Since I interrupted her, she was no smiles at all.... I got my materials and all was good. The course was led by Jan Marie Elder. I think she did a good job. She basically is going over almost everything thing in the book and obviously expounding on them. The very first day of class I feel she could have started with the power point instead of wasting time repeating everything in her written outline. She was very nice, helpful, and made sure she stayed on certain topics if we were not sure. The in class exam was on everything we went over in class. I got the cram course booklet which is $15 and it was all I needed to help me study. Btw, they do A LOT of up selling on extra study materials so be prepared for that. So I passed the class exam and then booked the state and passed that too. read more

I took the cram course, and I did one and a half days. It is good for practice exam taking (that you could do at home by yourself), and it is bad for conceptual review. There wasn't a description of the course online, so I went for it to prep for my exam. I regret it completely cause you are stuck in a classroom for 7 hours doing practice exams of each unit (about 20-35questions and about 5 exams a day over 2 days). The instructor was very nice and sweet in nature, but the explanations for the answers were not always conceptual...it was more story/experience-based tangents that went on for 10-20 minutes EACH question. At one point, I timed it, and it was 30 minutes!! Reviewing one exam with 30 questions took about 2 hours. If the explanations were more specific on textbook concepts, I would've been more inclined to engage more. It would be helpful to have a visual representation of the concept being reviewed while going over the answers. Just sitting and hearing one person go on tangents for 7 hours isn't engaging. However, review of the math portion was beneficial because it is conceptually based, and she showed how to work problems on the board while breaking them down instead of going on tangents. I left mid way the second day because I felt like I could do the tests at home (and no hearing stories). read more

I Took the online class and most often then not, the end chapter quiz contains questions that were NOT covered in the chapter. I had contacted the instructor a few time pointing out my observations, and while I did get some answers, I was also scolded... Here's one reply: "Perhaps your time would be better spent learning the concepts, which you can do from the explanations to the quiz questions just as well as from the text" I had done many classes in my lifetime and the purpose of a quiz is to test your knowledge on the material covered - not to confuse, discourage or introduce new material. Another reply:"If you have questions about why a particular answer is correct, emails about that are far more beneficial to you than simply trying to show that we left something out of the text."If the material would covered it all, we would not be in this situation to begin with and I would not need to contact the instructor. Needless to say, after that I stopped asking questions....  Online navigation is horrendous: when clicking on a Start button for a chapter, it pops-up a new window and the main screen refreshes and jumps to the top of the page. After finishing the chapter, the pop-up window closes and the main windows remains at the top and you need to find the place you left. At the beginning of the class it's not that much of a big deal but as you progress and you need to find your last location it gets more and more annoying. I did contact support for that issue and was told that there's nothing to be done???.... Really? I used to be a software developer and I know it CAN definitely be fixed. One of the most annoying "features" is the quiz result screen: I could not figure out the order that the results are presented but they are NOT the same order that they were presented, making it very difficult to compare to your notes taken during the quiz.  Lastly, the online class did NOT prepare me adequately to the PSI exam, I found many questions that were NOT discussed at all during the online class. read more

After a lot of research I decided to use Barney Fletcher and I must agree that Ennis is the best instructor that school has. He made that 2 week course feel like a couple of days. He added humor and years of insight into his lectures. I was able to not only pass the class on my first attempt, but also the state exam! Barney Fletcher does prepare you, but you do have to put in the time and work. I bought the flash cards, did the cram course and subscribed to the online test practice centers. I did nothing but eat, sleep and breath real estate for a month straight!! Have never done an online course before but this was great. I got the book from the office and it follows the same info online so it helps to read the book then review each chapter as you go. The online quizzes and book tests on each chapter help you know where you are weak. I got through the online course faster than if I had go to class and I could do it on my schedule and works parts of each day. Keith was my online support person and was very prompt in getting me answers to questions via email. I highly recommend Barney Fletcher. I did not even need the Cram Course on the weekend, just did my own review and passed the course test easily and took the state exam in Macon to save time over the Atlanta sites that were booked for weeks. read more

Was unsure about paying for this course as there are cheaper approved companies in Georgia, but I went with the course anyway because it's what my sponsoring broker used 15 years ago and she told me to use this one. That being said, I purchased the basic package that included no book, cram session, or anything extra. I figured it would be better than the class because I can control the pace and I am an avid reader. I passed the school final exam the first time around. I took the state exam and failed by 4 points. Since the exam is fresh in my mind I can honestly say that the content they give you to read does not cover everything in the exam and it is not enough to pass. (Ex: does not not go into detail about all discrimination hypothetical situations or legally competent parties) while they will give a basic overview, relying on the course text alone is not enough. It us better to go study from the actual government websites illustrating national laws than to learn solely from BF material. One good thing is that they allow you to have a Procter and stay home if you choose not to go to their location for the final exam. read more

I recently completed the Real Estate licensing course at Barney Fletcher, taking the accelerated day class (10 days, 75 hours) and Cram Course (2 days, 18 hours) respectively. I passed my course exam and state exam on the first try! The instructors are what you come here for. My day class was instructed by Lee Wiggins, the cram course by Ennis Antoine. I am so fortunate to have spent time with both of these elite educators. I attribute my success to their insight, real world application, test taking techniques, and willingness to provide assistant in every way reasonably possible. This was no easy task, and there is a large responsibility on the students to study and work additional hours outside of the classroom but that is all made very clear in the beginning. If I could give the instructors 10 stars I would. I am knocking 1 Star off my review because the facilities leave room for improvement. The desks are too small and the classes were over capacity (IMO), they provide coffee and creamer which is nice to have on the very long days. They have a vending machine that regularly malfunctions and the ladies restroom was often in need of maintenance. Overall, I am thrilled with my experience and would recommend it to anyone willing to put in the work needed to get their license. read more

The days were long, but Lee Wiggins was one of the best instructors I have ever had. I took the course at the Galleria 75 a few weeks ago. He kept the class engaged and has a great sense of humor. I loved their Real Estate License course. It prepared me for the Real Estate exam, but I also enjoyed it. I like the format and it really helped me learn what I needed to know for the test AND prepared me for the real world! My class came with a "2-day in-person supplement class" and what a great teacher. Also, if you need help signing up or with anything through-out the class, their support is incredible! Thy have an online chat that helped me greatly. They explained how to sign up for the class test and what I needed to sign up for the State exam. They really were amazing! read more

Excellent real estate education school that is not affiliated with any broker, offering solid classes. Took both my prelicense and brokers course there. The instructors are very experienced. Instructors were funny and would tell real stories to make the content relatable. After reading others reviews, let me give extra detail to say I took both classes live at the Galleria location. I aced the tests both class and state. I took the cram course which helped too. They do tell you what their pass rates are and they are in the mid 80s for the first time. They expect you to do a lot of homework outside of class and study. If you don't study outside of class, and you aren't naturally super smart, you might not pass because there is a lot of content. read more

Just purchased online version of post-license course and logged in. Very disappointed. This is basically an online textbook that you read on your computer screen and take little quizzes at the end of each section. There are no videos or anything that makes it more interesting. I bought the textbook as well and once I viewed the online class and the sample textbook (I haven't received the actual textbook) they appear to be the exact same. So, don't buy the book cause it is the same as the class (unless you are like me and get a headache from reading too much on a backlit screen). read more

I signed up for my post license class at Barney Fletcher because I heard they were great from so many people. I'm not happy with my class at all. The teacher talks mostly about herself. When she does "teach," she doesn't follow the book, so it's impossible to keep up. And just when I thought I could just take the material and study on my own, she hands us the most vague fill-in-the-blank homework/study guide I have ever seen. I'm no stranger to education. I have a bachelor's degree and I've been through the pre-license class. I've also taken many CE credit courses through various companies. This course is a total joke, and I'm very upset that I paid for it. It's also the most expensive out of all the post-license courses I researched!!! Also, there is no one at the front desk to help you. Actually, there is no front desk, period. The "school" is in the very back of an unmarked shopping center, and I had trouble finding it on the first day of class. I called and it turns out that they don't answer the phone after 5pm (even though they have classes that start at 6pm). For anyone looking to go to real estate school or take CE credit classes, GAMLS Training Institute is definitely the way to go. Barney Fletcher is a waste of time. read more

I recently took the Pre-License Real Estate Class in Alpharetta and it was awesome! The instructor was informative, uplifting, insightful and very knowledgeable. My experience with customer service was also the best I could hope for. After being in class and dropping by the office, I feel like part of the Fam. I was a professional trainer for over 25 years, and what I experienced here, was probably the worst botch job being passed off as training that I have ever seen. What I experienced here was both unprofessional and outdated. I had instructors who contradicted each other and the training materials, and told stories during class time that were not only inappropriate but not relevant to class discussion. Your basic package gives you just a workbook everything else is an extra fee on top of your class costs. For an extra fee you can attend their cram course, the workbook for the cram is extra of course. There is very little time spent covering essential concepts like contracts and how to calculate tax prorations. The only test was a self study that was never reviewed in class. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

I cannot express the level of incompetence I have experienced with Barney Fletcher Schools. I took their post-licensing training and passed their test with a 92% score six months after getting my real estate sales license. The staff at the Barney Fletcher Schools sent credentials to the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) stating that I had passed the pre-licensing training, a course I never enrolled in at Barney Fletcher Schools. Two weeks after my post-licensing training was due, my broker informed me that GREC says my license has lapsed because I never completed the post-licensing training. For three days now, the Barney Fletcher Schools have been ignoring my request that they make things right for me with GREC. Save yourself the grief and expense by not exposing your real estate career to Barney Fletcher Schools and their level of incompetence. I had to write a review because of the previous one written on the site. I took the course at night several years ago. It took about a month to complete. My experience was totally opposite. The classes covered EVERYTHING on the state exam. I scored a 92. I Googled Barney Fletcher in order to get contact information. Both my husband and I intend to do our state required continuing education with them. Perhaps Glorious G should contact Barney Fletcher with concerns. read more

I found the instructors to be polite, but sadly they did not prepare me for the exam. There were questions on the exam that were not topics discussed in class, examples would be ADA laws, we covered some lease concepts but at a high level sadly there were a lot of lease questions. I feel that if your going to collect a premium I expect to have questions answered and be poised to do well at a exam. There was no real clear syllabus, the books contained inaccurate information that is dated. There were a swath of handouts which also were inaccurate, we were advised to update, omit or otherwise correct. read more

I needed my post license course and was running out of time. I signed up for the Sales & Marketing 101 as my course NOT the Advanced RE course. It was offered by a 3rd party through BF. Immediately I had several issues even purchasing and then getting logged in to study. HOWEVER, I ended up having the Director answer the phone who made phone calls to their 3rd party tech support people who were unaware of the issue but IMMEDIATELY fixed the issues both times. Once in I found the course exactly what I needed. It is one of the best marketing courses I have ever taken. When I took my time I scored very well on the online test at the end of each of the 13 chapters. Keep in mind I had two weeks to finish before required deadline for the RE Commission. I scheduled the proctored exam for Weds knowing if I failed I could retake on Thursday. I took the test and knowing my situation the Director took my scan sheet and scored my exam right after class. I PASSED. Three more years before requirements start over and I now only need 9 CE hours before then. Thanks BF and Pame. read more
