Winter camp

We recently moved from different club and Fortune fencing is far better. Coaches here are great. They are knowledgeable, caring and help kids with self-esteem. My son loves his new club and coaches.

They are preparing the student to compete well in the competition. The sport helps build up each student's confidence and makes them more independent. Classes have a variety of games, footwork, techniques, and exercises. Coach Gherman, Coach Artem, and Coach Mike are very professional and have many years of experience. My child enjoys coming to group classes and private lessons. Because of this, his goal is to become a professional fencer.

Coach Gherman , Coach Artem and Coach Mike are very professional, caring and patient in their coaching. As such , we have seen how much our young child has grown under their dedicated coaching this past year. They have indeed motivated our child to a great extent who has since developed a strong passion for the sport. Our child is always beaming with excitement going to every lesson. The coaches are able to inspire younger learners with trainings that cater specifically to their age groups ( eg applying games which focus on both mental and physical agility). This is a combat sport and it is not uncommon to see younger children getting emotionally upset over the matches/ games. However the coaches never fail to comfort these children and motivate them to continue. Before you know it , these children are up and running with their game once again. This is another great aspect in WCFA's program. The coaches are always so dedicated to help every student in developing not just the physical technique in the sport , but also building up a young student's personal soft skills - eg independence, mannerism, resilience and confidence. The facilities are very clean and spacious with plenty of parking at the rear. There are small snack bars and water as well. Overall we are very happy to find a great club!

When we finally squared away on the appointment he requested that I remind him the day before of the appointment even though that's HIS job (I'm not paid to be his secretary). Then I drove 45 mins to the business (specified in the Groupon) and after ringing the doorbell and calling, he finally tells me the business is in Pasadena!!!!!!! Then he had the audacity to say that he "told me it was in Pasadena" which was 100% false. Do NOT go to this person. There's many reputable sword fencing places in the surrounding area, put your money towards these places instead.

At the…read moretime, my wife and I knew little about the sport and were referred to Swords by the summer instructor. New to the sport, we found that there are several prominent clubs in the LA area and found to our delight that Swords Fencing Studio has the best coaches in region if not the state. Coach Tigran and Coach Sorah are amazing at their craft and come with impressive credentials and are nationally and internationally recognized. Kids as far as Antelope Valley to San Diego have traveled several nights a week to be coached by these coaches and to fence with their students. Although my daughters (14 and 8) have just begun, I can see their progress in one year under the tutelage of these coaches. As with other sports, there are many challenges and sacrifices in the sport of fencing and we have found that the kids, their parents and the coaches at Swords are different from other clubs. They have been so supportive of one another and have created an atmosphere that is both competitive and comfortable. They do things the right way and teach their students to do likewise. This is not normal in amateur sports as any parent involved knows. If you are looking to start your child in fencing, please consider sending them to Swords Fencing Studio. You can be assured that they will be coached by world-class instructors and fence with kids who are excellent fencers.

I was happy to see that Kaizen offers a really great deal for a two-week trial package that includes unlimited cardio kickboxing and TRX! This was perfect for me to try out classes to get a feel of things before making a longer commitment. The regular monthly fee is very reasonable too! The fact that the monthly fee covers unlimited kickboxing and TRX motivates me to make the most of it and go routinely. I'm a 30 something year old, and it's nice to see that both kickboxing and TRX at Kaizen suit people of all ages and backgrounds. Signing up for classes that fit my work schedule is easy and flexible through the app. Kickboxing is an excellent workout. It really gets the heart rate up and the sweat going. What pleasantly surprised me was trying TRX for the first time because I had zero familiarity with it. TRX is easy for me to follow because of the pacing. It really is a full body workout. I find TRX more doable than pilates, which I personally find too difficult. TRX is fun using straps as a workout tool, also making it pretty unique. Both kickboxing and TRX are 45-minute classes, and it feels like the perfect amount of time. Classes aren't long, and that allows me to have the energy to go multiple times per week. The location is very convenient for me and there's plenty of parking. Jody, the instructor for both kickboxing and TRX, is an inspiration because she teaches so many classes and is a great instructor/model! She's friendly, patient, personable, and approachable. She helps you get the techniques and correct postures for moves, so she'll also keep you accountable! Also, I've found that the people who attend classes are very friendly and cool. There's zero judgement nor egos from what I observe! In summary, Kaizen is great! You get to enjoy classes and enjoy seeing/feeling yourself get more fit and healthy! Give it a try if you're curious. You've got nothing to lose, except fat and calories!
