We have enjoyed our experience with the Fresno team! Reading through the reviews I would have to…read moredisagree with the negative ones... sounds like you all were the problem. Our family is very thankful for all of the hard work and dedication that this company provided for our child. They not only helped our child grow with various skills but they took their time teaching his father and I ways to improve at home. As parents of a non verbal child with a disability it was super important for us to trust who we have working with our child daily, Autism Learning Partners gave us the peace of mind we needed and whenever we had questions or concerns, they made us feel heard and supported. Thank you to all of those we worked with, your team is awesome!

I am supposed to just drop of my most precious thing in my life and trust that he is going to be okay with a bunch of people we don't know. I came from a different company in Clovis that was a horrible experience. I decided to take a recommendation from a friend who speaks highly of the staff and the growth she has seen with her child. I am a worrying mom but I felt positive leaving. After his session when I returned he had a great big smile and he said he wanted to go back the next day. The BT I spoke with was extremely caring and actually listened to me about concerns that I had. I felt heard and I felt that I am able to tell them if I want them to help with anything, I was told in the past that they were going to make a plan for him from what they were able to observe with their assessment. So I absolutely recommend ALP. There are a lot of centers for ABA in Fresno, so don't jump around just start with a good recommendation from an actual mom.

I am writing this report a year after my month-long stay. I want to emphasize the workers, Ani,…read moreGizelle, Andrea, Lorena, Arts Therapist (forgot her name), and Manuel(or Emmanuel, he's a Lead MHT at night). Ani has to be the most incredibly patient staff member I've met. She spent time getting to know the patients, and, even nearing the end of a 12-hour shift, had the time to meet the countless needs of the patients. She was present, engaged with everyone, and treated us like humans. Every. Single. Patient. Even the ones that drove the other staff members crazy. Her patience is something I admire to this day. She performed 100% from the start of her shift to the end and repeated it the next day. I could go on about how absolutely phenomenal she was. Being treated like a human is absolutely rare, especially in mental health facilities, and she made me feel that I could make it one more day. Gizelle has to be one of the most active nurses in all of RVBH. She responded to every code, making it back in time to manage the other paperwork before the other nurse could get overwhelmed with the workload. She was a solid voice of reason. My discharge day was the most hectic, especially on the boy's (my) side. I never got to say goodbye to her that morning, and she still found it in her to reach out to my mom and talk with me. Astounding care. From what I remember, there are multiple Andreas. I can't give a full name, but from I remember, she laughed A TON, she cared for others more than she would care for herself, and she would be with me for most of my 1:1's. She talked with me and reasoned with me. She gave me space while sharing her story. She leveled with me. I have plenty of wonderful memories spending time with her, although my 1:1's weren't pleasant, she helped me throughout my month stay. I never connected with Lorena as much as I wanted, but we had a mutual respect for each other (at least that's what it seemed). She was a Lead MHT, and absolutely wonderful at it. Every time she was on shift, codes that would break out in my unit would be swiftly under control. Nothing was overlooked, and everyone respected her. She hustles like no other. I'm blanking on the Art Therapist's name. She was very patient with me. Although we met for an hour a day on certain schedules, I grew a strong bond with her. I was sad to say goodbye, even when all I could think about at the end was leaving. My favorite memory was when she brough some crayola clay for all of us to mold into our own things. I still have mine. Manuel (or Emmanuel) was another Lead MHT that would do night shifts. Absolutely wonderful. He advocated for us like no other, gave us time in the gym area and let us play music. His fabulous care, making sure our heart rate was good even if it was slightly high like 120/80, emphasizing staff to NEVER shine the lights in patients eyes when doing rounds at night, and communicating clearly is what makes me appreciate him so much. I remember at the end of my stay, he advocated for patients to get "parties" and brought some arizona tea for the patients to try. At the end of my stay, he let me talk with him a little about how to manage a piece of my identity, and I still carry this talk with me. He is very wise. I wont lie, my time here at RVBH was terrible. Absolutely horrid. 30 days there and it felt like a prison, trapped with other people of varying reasons for admission. But, it takes character for staff to look at each patient and recognize the human in all of them. I can understand the staff members that whisk off the patients as if they're cattle to the dining hall, 12 hour shifts are exhausting. However, it's the staff that take the extra time to see us for who we are, not for our reason of admission. Staff at all facilities seem to simply look what at what psychiatrists scribble away as our diagnosis and, like it's a criminal record, treat you as if you're the same as the other diagnosed patients they see "crash out." My heart goes out to Ani, Gizelle, Andrea, Lorena, the Arts Therapist, and Manuel (or Emmanuel, he's a Lead MHT that worked at night mostly cut me some slack). As I begin to process this small yet significant piece of my life, I know it's not right for me to scoop this whole establishment as resentful, but remember some of these people as the beautiful hearts they have. Giving them the humility and grace in my memories as they gave everyone coming in to RVBH. I'm grateful that this was the hospital I ended up in. Thank you.
