The ushers look like they were all students on campus. They were selling shirts and souvenir items in the tiny lobby. No snack bar or concession stand. Food and drinks not allowed in the theater anyway so I guess that's alright. But they were selling some cookies and water outside and taking donations for coffee. She has told me…read morethat it has been very enjoyable, and she has learned a lot of new ballet techniques there (as well as has made a lot of new friends). The teaching methods of Miss Angela are good - not too silly, but not too strict - and all of the girls seem enthusiastic every day the come in for lessons. Indeed, some of the children's parents also took lessons at the Classical School of Ballet when they were younger, so it's a very family-like environment. Miss Angela puts on large, impressive performances every other year, so that each year in between is focused purely on technique. All in all, it's a nice place to learn ballet.

Orchestra was on the smaller side compared to big city ones but still a full and uplifting sound. Featuring conductor Stuart Malina and vocalist Madison Claire Parks, it was a lovely way to spend New Year's Eve. We had nosebleed seats at the back of the theater and had a grand time. Our teenage kids enjoyed it as well.

The venue is beautiful, and this alone is worth investing two hours on a Saturday night. There were drink and food options for purchase at the front, which are allowed in the event area. This particular set-up offered ample parking at the Earl Warren Showgrounds.
