The Well system checked out OK and Steve recommended I check our outdoor hose bib connections and our toilet valves.

But a great plumber is only good if you can get a response from them. I've been dealing with him for several years now. Consistently I've had to message repeatedly, call repeatedly. On occasion - as the first time I contacted him probably in 2023 - he answers the phone himself, and provides info on what he thinks the problem is. And he does phenomenal work. After a few years of being a good customer, patient, paying on time, never objecting to pricing, I **STILL** cannot get a response from him. One issue is that he's a one man show. It's him, or no one. His wife is lovely and accompanies him at times. Very knowledgeable herself. About 4 weeks ago I initiated contact and he responded immediately via text. Great, I thought. Then nothing. After a few more messages checking in, he said there was a family medical situation. I gave him space, and here we are two weeks and yet another text message to him later, and nothing. Nada. And still a leaking well tank. C'mon. Do better. We are done, hope you sort yourself out with other customers - I've seen several other people have had the same experience.

The system itself is a quality system, low maintenance, with a very good warranty. The technician (Jack) that came and tested our water and ultimately sold us our unit was professional, good communicator, & patient. I can see why he is where he is. What I'm dinging this company on is the install. It is clear to me that they are used to doing installs in the basements and not in finished rooms (we live on a slab). The technician (Kevin) was polite and informative, but refused to consider using a stud finder (which is clear in one picture) and was set on his ways of installing. The wood they used to mount the filter to the wall looks like they got it out of a dumpster. I would have preferred a nicely cut board for the price we paid for this unit (not cheap). The holes denoted around one of the lines was a challenge to fill. They were left "as is" when Kevin was done. Ignore the big hole in the wall. That is normally covered by a face plate. They didn't do me any favors when they cut that awkward small hole which is going to be a challenge to make look pretty. I'm pretty decent at drywall repair, but this won't look prefect when I'm done. Frustrating to the say the least.

Their technician came out, acknowledged the water hardness was testing poorly (at a 4), but told me the salt rock would just "dissolve on its own." It didn't. Over a month later, my system was still completely blocked and the water wasn't soft. When I contacted management to send someone back out to actually fix the problem I paid for, they gave me the runaround and refused to confirm they wouldn't charge me a second trip fee. I ended up having to hire a completely different, competent professional to come out and actually fix the blockage. I formally disputed their invoice in writing because they failed to complete the repair. Instead of acting with integrity and addressing the dispute, management ignored my emails and instead sent a threatening "Final Notice" letter saying they were sending me to collections. Avoid this company. They do not stand behind their work, their technicians give inaccurate advice, and they resort to collection threats rather than providing adequate customer service. If I could give zero stars, I would. On the day of install, he text me saying he was having a hard time finding a place to mount the equipment . I got back with the installer and asked if he was able to find a suitable spot to install it in the basement and tried confirming with him that the system he was installing would take care of all the water issues. He then got aggressive and told me he was "ripping" out all the equipment and leaving , also informed me he had already cut pipe and that all my piping was "f*cked. I called him on the phone to try and figure out what was going on and he cussed me out and when I explained that I was just making sure it was the correct system because my lender had sent me a checklist because I have to have it corrected by my closing date he then said "well you better have your f*cking lender install the system because I'm out of here." I apologized for the confusion and hung up the phone . Instead of explaining things in a calm manner he went irate. VERY unprofessional company . Will also be sharing this review on Google and my experience with the BBB. I NEVER leave bad reviews but I was shocked at how this company treats customers and want to warn others to stay clear.

With multiple visits to the house, tons of water testing, hundreds of dollars spent on different suggestions to fix the issue, nothing was resolved. We decided it was time to seek out more water professionals in the area. John Moore responded to our call immediately, came out to the house, and investigated the issue. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He went above and beyond and found what we think could be the root of the problem! He even contacted us after hours to share more literature and documentation that supports his theory. The service that he provided was absolutely immeasurable. We wish we would have contacted him 2 years ago! We will definitely contact John for all of our future needs.

We have had them install an Ecowater IDP40CC in our last two houses and couldn't be more pleased…read more For various reasons, we've moved 5 times in 5 years around the central/western Virginia area, and in each place we've had a water softener, because this is super-limestoney geology. Each time we moved, we had to go through a process of installing a water softener and then repairing or replacing everything that had been damaged by the hard water, including multiple thousands of dollars worth of appliances that were destroyed but also plumbing, especially bathroom faucets. The first three places we lived had softeners installed from the Big-Name Softener Company You All Know, and we had those serviced or replaced, because we'd had a relationship with a specific tech who sold those products for many years at the place we lived prior to these 5 homes. But that person wasn't available in our new territory, so we had to discover how bad that company was when you didn't have that amazing person (who's stopped selling that company's products now). We were never very happy with those products anyway, and with the absolutely horrific service we got from the new territory (I could regale you for an entire evening at a bar telling horror stories) it tipped us over the breaking point into switching brands. A bunch of research and reference-checking later, we selected Ken Landes of Clean Water Virginia and the Ecowater products. Where do I begin? The products and service have been night-and-day, making me wish we hadn't waited so long to switch. Ken and his team have been ultra-professional, responsive, expert, and reasonably priced, all in direct contrast to the previous company who were horrible to work with on every level, and installed things dead-wrong (think "sewage can flow backwards into your water supply" level of wrong). And Ken and team have gone above and beyond to do extra things for us. The products are way superior, and I mean WAY superior. They're not constantly guzzling salt and doing deafeningly loud, hours-long regeneration cycles in the middle of the night (which I learned actually uses a ton of water, too, which isn't cheap). In fact, a year after our last Ecowater install, we still haven't had to add salt, and the salt tank is mostly full still; we never had to add salt at the first house we had Ecowater installed in. I have never heard a regeneration cycle, period; Ecowater's regeneration uses a small amount of water and doesn't fire-hose for an hour. And we haven't needed service; as Ken explained, and it's proven true, these products are designed to last and not need constant servicing unlike the previous company's products that are totally inferior and need maintenance and replacing which shouldn't be necessary (they're all using essentially the same very basic chemistry that's been unchanged for about a century, and should Just Perform, which Ecowater's products actually do). I can't believe the difference; I didn't like the previous company's products and would have rated them three of five stars, but now that I've experienced Ecowater's products, I rate Ecowater 5/5 and rate the previous company ONE star. If you're grouchy about the products, service, or performance you're getting from the Big-Name Softener company (and you should be), SWITCH! Your future self will thank you more than you can imagine.
