He explained the process of what would go on next, which made us feel a lot better. We were far away from home and felt pretty lost. They offered us their break room for 3 hours while our family was en route to pick us up. Daniel even offered to give us a ride to a Waffle House or anywhere we wanted to go, if we were hungry. They kept us updated and took great care of what was left of my car. A+ all the way around. Mark was the bomb, too! ;) Everyone was, really. This experience made my day a lot less crappy. In the mist of my Penske nightmare, there are those that " follow" scripts & then there's Hurst…read moretowing. It was Friday February 23,2024, and the wife and I arrived at the home depot in Jasper al to pickup our 26' Penske truck. During inspection discovered no brakes, this is first of 4 trucks in 24 hrs. Rented truck 2 and off we go. Coming into Chelsea, front wheels went to smoking bad so we pulled over at Walmart on 280, called roadside assistance (9:45 am) hence the start of our nightmare. After dealing with scripted Penske idiots for 4.5 hours sitting in the hot sun, we were very irritated to say the least. They told me that the driver was stuck in traffic at the ETA was over 30 minutes. Not even 2 minutes later here comes Hurst towing to the rescue. Remember "we are furious dealing with idiots" and I was not polite to meet the driver cause I assumed he would be "scripted" too. Jason asked me to calm down and he was here to help, he went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that the swap went as smoothly as possible. He swapped out and this is truck 3 of 4. We get the truck to the house and start loading, After clearing out the storage we close the truck tuck the ramp securely and move 10 yards to the house. Pull out the ramp and it breaks, nightmare with Penske continues. After another scripted run around Hurst towing and Jason came to the rescue. In closing, I highly recommend Hurst and especially Jason for going the extra mile to make sure we were okay. Penske can learn a few things from Jason and the guys at Hurst. Hmmm Hurst truck rental.... that would be awesome.

This place is ridiculous as the other reviewers state. They charged over $1k to tow my car about 10…read moremiles & store it for a week. I have used the same guy for years and never paid more than $120 for local towing. I left my car in a neighborhood out of the way after an accident early one morning and before I could get back to it JeffCo sheriffs called Andys to pick it up. Andy's has relationship with Jefferson County and can overcharge, add ridiculous fees and basically treat us like financial opportunities rather than fellow human beings having a bad day at best. I am sure Andy's and the employees know they take advantage of every person unfortunate enough to get a bill. It must suck for them, knowing they are actively making the world a more difficult & financially stressful place. If they would make someones bad day easier, offer fair prices and take better care of the cars, we would tell others, leave outstanding reviews and ultimately give the employees a nicer work environment with friendly customers. Spreading bad mojo, karma or whatever you want to call it is a risky way to live. All religious & spiritual beliefs have two things in common. The universe started with a sound & we live beyond the physical body. That means we have a lot more existence outside physical reality than inside. Is it worth some money to spend every moment blocking natural intuition & instincts that drive humans into acts of kindness & makes helping others feel so good. Sorry for the rant, these guys suck to be sure. If we stop using them, they will stop f'ing people over.

Plus others crazy fees..The staff is rude and do not even receive credit card or business checks; cash only to get it out. They are hesitant to answer calls unless you call from different numbers. I will never recommend this place. If you get in an accident pull over and hope they never bring your vehicle to this company. I wish the state required businesses like this to close down. They delay releasing the vehicle to get more money from insurances, business or individuals
